Hotel Ionian Theoxenia

My partner and I have just returned from kanali beach,
After a wonderful holiday.
This hotel is a small family run establishment and is absolutely wonderful.
The owners and staff are a delight friendly helpful and very professional.
Andreas and Anna on reception are so helpful Elana and George so efficient and attentive the bar food delicious and fresh.
The pool is one of the best we have experienced the rooms spacious modern and so clean.
The area is great for people that want peace and quiet but does have all the amenities you need for a holiday.
The first thing we did on arrival in the UK was to rebook for next year.

Cats where really nice part of the hotel well behaved,nice ice creams and drinks,balconies where nice and private aswell.

We have just had a two week stay in the Theoxenia which was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. This hotel is of a much higher standard than most we have experienced in Greece. We stayed in a 'deluxe double' room which was extremely spacious with a separate kitchen and a very large balcony, with open outlook
towards the sea. There was efficient aircon at no extra charge and well maintained insect screens on the sliding doors. Lighting was good both by the bedside and on the patio.
The room and the hotel as a whole were built to a high standard and cleaning was meticulous.
There is an enormous pool with ample comfortable sunbeds and parasols. A pleasant pool bar adjoins it. Beach towels are provided.
A good selection for breakfast of hot, cold, continental and Greek elements, replenished frequently by hard working staff. My one suggestion would that a wider selection of fruit be offered and perhaps a modern coffee machine with different choices.
In the beach bar there is a good choice of snacks and drinks as well as salads and pasta, although I would have liked there to be some draught beer.
The reception staff and all others are extremely friendly and efficient.
The hotel is located a flat 5 minute walk from the town of Kanali. There are half a dozen tavernas which are extremely good value. There are many beach bars, some with sunbeds, free if you buy a drink. The beach is gritty sand and there is a lifeguard in attendance. There is the added bonus of a spectacular sunset from all these bars.

We are just having our last day of a two week holiday at this wonderful hotel. We have stayed at many 4-star hotels both on the mainland and the islands of Greece, and this is by far one of the nicest. The accommodation is very clean and spacious with a lovely sea view and cleaned every day with bedding changed every three days. Towels can be changed every day, but we chose to keep ours for more than one day. Beach / pool towels are also supplied. The breakfast is mainly continental, but scrambled eggs, bacon, and little sausages are also available, there is something for everyone. The swimming pool is beautiful but we chose to go to the beach most days where several sunbeds are available from the hotel. It is only a five a minute walk to the beach. You will need beach shoes as it is quite pebbly. All staff and the hotel owners are very nice and welcoming. Nothing is too much for them. The village at this time of the year is reasonably quiet but busy at the weekend. All local businesses, restaurants, and bars are very friendly. This made a nice change for us. We would definitely recommend this hotel to couples and families alike.

Great pool area and bar. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed and pillows where very comfortable. The bathroom also very spacious! The staff extra nice and helpful. Great location and near the beach.

Very clean and nice place. We enjoyed the pool. The room was clean and large. There were places for dinner or lunch around. The seaside was very close but we preferred the pool. The staff very kind and nice, will come back

A logistics problem with communication between Expedia and the hotel. Our room was cancelled by the hotel because they did not have a direct email for us it was not shared by Expedia.
Miss communication led to a stressful start.

The hotel is very nice, quiet and clean. Friendly staff make your holiday pleasent. The pool is big. It is abaout 200 m from the beach. We had a breakfast, it was ok. Rooms are very big , clean with a big comfortable bad. Almost all rooms have a sea view.

Lovely large room, very friendly staff, good breakfast. Beautiful pool area. However, we could not use the pool as it was closed for 3 days due to rain. For a lot of that period there was no rain and it was hot weather, so we feel it is unfair on all the guests to close the main hotel attraction for no good reason. If it had been terrible weather, we would understand, but there was the odd rain shower and that's all.
