Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Für Sightseeing Kaliningrad ideal gelegen.
super nice place in the perfect location, very happy
The staff were all very friendly nothing was too much. The rooms were nice as was the breakfast. Highly recommended
In heart of old city. Walked to modern city center but prefer old.
Lovely location view from riverside rooms very good excellent restaurant downstairs with river views
I don't have anything negative to say, but I wasn't much impressed with the hotel, in general. The room was nothing to write home about about, clean but VERY basic. The view of the river was pretty nice, though. The neighborhood was incredibly disappointing. I expected more "village" from the "fishing village." There was nothing nearby. Convenient to the Königsberg Cathedral, but that's it. The staff was friendly enough, and all spoke English, but no one bothered to mention that, in order to have your room cleaned, you need to leave your key at reception when you go out. I was very surprised to find my room had not been made up, both days, when I returned from a long day out. I didn't figure out what the problem was until the second day, when reception called me at 4:30p to ask when they could come by. I had just returned from a 6 hour walk about and was looking to rest for a bit; but I had to leave the room again so that they could clean. A little head's up would have been nice. Overall, not a bad place, but I wouldn't stay there again.
Charming hotel, decent location (not city centre, but close to some cathedral), there were some issues with a sewage smell while I was here, though it seemed to be resolved after a couple of nights, so this is probably not typical. Breakfast is wonderful, with perhaps Kaliningrad's best view out the window.
I wish other Russian hotels would take a cue from this one. It is the most Western-friendly three star hotel I've stayed at in the country. The sweet, enthusiastic girls at the front desk were thrilled to hear my conversational Russian -- and then took over from there in perfect English. There are fancier hotels in other parts of the city, but in my opinion this is THE place to stay because it's located in the Fishing Village, the most attractive and historical neighborhood in K-Grad.
Airport transfer was easy -- the hotel driver actually undercharged me, wished me a good flight, all smiles. This just doesn't happen in Moscow LOL.
Were some minor issues with the room (some of the lights didn't work, and TV hanging at a strange angle and hard to turn on) but all the more reason to go outside and start discovering K-Grad.
There are a ton (and I mean a lot) of drinks provided in the minibar, but if that's not your thing there is a huge supermarket across the street from the hotel, and a small souvenir shop as well.
Having the balcony was a joy. No noise issues and you never get tired of the view. Highly recommended hotel.
New and very nice hotel, which if there be a chance I will like to visit again.
The hotel is on the smaller side and the rooms have seen better days. The entrance to the room had a few stains on the carpet, but nothing major. Beds and bathroom were very clean though. The location is perfect and close to everything, considering how small the city center is. I visited in the fall, but I am sure in the summer the area is much more lively. One of the best restaurants in Kaliningrad is located in this hotel, so you don't have to travel very far for great food. It is called the 'Fish Club', I believe. The Restaurants decorations are so over the top, that it becomes very charming and exactly what you would expect from a Russian Restaurant. Honestly though, the food is very delicious and the staff ever so friendly. Great stay overall.
This hotel was located in one of the few bright spots in Kaliningrad. The city is in terrible shape with infrastructure crumbling everywhere. Minimal effort and services for tourists. Also surprising was how expensive things are in this city. As far as the Skipper goes, it met our needs reasonably well and I'd stay there again.
I had a room with a small balcony with a close view of the canal and the reconstructed Konigsberg Cathedral. The hotel is located in a small district that's attempting to recall what Konigsberg must have looked like before it was bombed to smithereens toward the end of World War Two. But modern-day Kaliningrad will never be what Konigsberg was, and if you're able to live with that fact then Kalinigrad definitely has its charms and surprises. The hotel is crammed with antiques and does a pretty good job of pretending to be old but in no way decrepit. The restaurant is quite good as is the breakfast buffet, which isn't expensive. The hotel is also located only a three minute walks to the Cathedral and Kant's grave. I would definitely return.
