Location was perfect. Good coffee. Comfy reception area.
No elevator. Staff was generally unfriendly/not warm. Had to ask twice for toilet tissue. No wash clothes. Basically would consider this an expensive budget hotel. Can't recommend it.

Exceto pela localização, nada se salva nessa hotel. As instalaçòes sao imundas, tanto na parte comum quanto no quarto. Mofo em todo lugar. A cabeceira da cama é simplesmente nojenta.
What breakfast?
A sign was needed on the building directing you to check in at the Sean hotel… very very confusing.
Perfect location. Quiet, safe and peaceful and still right in the middle of everything. I would highly recommend getting a canal view room - huge windows that let Amsterdam’s charm flood in. The room was huge and the large bathroom had an equally large spa bath. The large bed was super comfortable. We were so happy in the room we actively hung out in it and made our short break a proper relaxing one.
The stairs are very, very steep. Almost dangerously so and there’s no lift. Just be mindful of that when booking. Getting suitcases down the stairs does feel like you’re living life right on the edge 😂.

I have never needed to write a bad review for a hotel before but the Grand Canal Boutique Hotel deserves one.
The room we were allocated (3) was shabby and dirty; extremely poor decorative order with random paint patches, mould in the bathroom, shabby furniture, thick dust on the light shade, blood staining on the curtains, graffiti on the wall, generally dirty and a window that not only looked out onto a scruffy little yard of dirty wooden boards and scaffolding poles but also allowed other people in the hotel to look directly into the room from an adjacent window, so there was no privacy unless the curtains were closed, which made the room dark.
When we said we were not happy with the room and asked if we could have an alternative, we were met with a disinterested attitude and told there wasn’t one available. They offered a different room for our following two nights but couldn’t guarantee it would be any better. When we said we would go somewhere else for that night and would come back the next day, we were told not to bother and check out completely.
We then had to find another hotel to stay in for that night and the following two; it was not the start we wanted for our holiday.
We complained to Booking.com; the hotel initially agreed to refund our booking fee, which we had paid in full in advance but the next day they changed their mind and have now refused.
I only wish I had read the reviews on Tripadvisor before booking; it seems many other people have had a similar experience.
La posizione dell'hotel perfetta per girare a piedi Amsterdam. Hotel pulito e curato..Il personale è veramente cortese e disponibile. L'hotel non dispone del ristorante e non si può fare dunque colazione in loco, ma nella camera si trova la macchina del caffè, il bollitore ed il frigo bar.. Inoltre nella hall trovi mele, snack a disposizione, acqua naturale e frizzante a disposizione.
Nella nostra camera il lavandino era davvero piccolo ed era difficile lavarsi la faccia.
Se non viene espressamente richiesto, la camera non viene riassettata.
Loved the Lavazza coffee machine in the room & the reception area, great coffee for guests plus apples (juicy and big ones too) and packs of crisps too. Location was good - right along canals and walking distance to shopping street. There is also a heater provided in the room as well as air conditioning ( single unit) which you can control as you like. It kept the room temperate regulated to your preference.
There was no full length mirror and there is only one mirror in the toilet so if you are sharing rooms, you have to wait toilet to be free to use the mirror. Be good to have a proper place to dry your hair in front of a mirror etc. Room lights were on the dim side. Hotel has no elevators so for heavy suitcases, best to request for ground floor rooms, there are still some stairs but it is manageable and hotel staff helps out.

Great place to stay to explore the Jordaan and 9 Streets areas. Grocery store right across the street and fresh coffee in the lobby was lovely

Abbiamo preso l’appartamento per 6 persone, molto grande con un bel salotto e cucina tutta attrezzata.
Alla reception trovate acqua, caffè, frutta e snack offerti e sempre riforniti! In camere abbiamo anche avuto delle bibite e delle birre sempre offerte!
Appartamento su due livelli, con le camere al piano inferiore, in bagno abbiamo trovato un ragno mentre facevamo la doccia!!

Very noisy overnight from guests above us. Poor shades in bedroom didn’t block out light, no where to put or hang anything, steep, narrow stairs to lug luggage to room.
