The staff was so kind
Especially RIA & LAYTI
The property itself is genuinely beautiful and relaxing, with a fantastic view. Access is easy too: the road to the studios is totally fine by car, less than 10 minutes from Lygia. Our room was big and spacious, with a very comfortable bed and tasteful, well-kept furniture. One member of the pool bar staff in the afternoons was extremely kind and helpful: credit to him.
Breakfast was just ok. For the price, it wasn’t up to standard; we stayed at two 3-star hotels during the same trip with better breakfasts. Quantity was fine, but it barely varied day to day.
Unfortunately, many negative points. Management has to understand that by charging way higher prices that average (which some customers, such as us, are happy to pay), feedback plays on another league: evaluation standards increase and attention to detail, and service quality, are a must.
Service was poor and clearly untrained. After breakfast, staff members would stand around the pool bar chatting for hours without checking on guests or offering so much as a smoothie or something else (despite the price we paid; something could have been included, and not everyone drinks alcohol such as the bottle left in the fridge).
When we asked (politely, in passing) if it was too early for our requested early breakfast for the day of check out, we were told “yes it is.” (Breakfast was then provided but had to ask twice). Staff also seemed unaware of checkout days in a property with only 10 apartments, and insisted on confirming we’d paid before letting us leave, even though we’d specifically arranged an early breakfast because we had to leave early.
Maintenance was another issue: visible humidity damage on walls, stained curtains that clearly hadn’t been washed, stained sunbeds in the pool, and a garden with dead plants left in vases and overgrown, ungroomed grass. Room service was inconsistent too: the bed was made poorly and towels were left scattered about.
Privacy and light control were real problems. Two windows had no external blinds or blackout curtains and faced the parking lot, so light flooded the room all night; not the best for a good night’s sleep. The terrace window and two room windows also faced the parking area, meaning curtains had to stay closed at all times for privacy.
Most frustrating: we paid €423/night, charged in full a month in advance. About 10 days before our stay, we noticed the same room had dropped to €293/night — a pretty deflating discovery that made the whole stay feel totally overpriced, and spoiled a failure.

It was not crowded, a few people were at the hotel so we really enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
The breakfast was tasty.

The road to the hotel is awful, I was with a bigger car and it was a problem that I have to be extra careful.
We had some kind of bugs in the room (a lot of them) also there were wasps every morning while we were having breakfast, it was annoying, but the staff brought out food to the room afterwards.
Maybe a sun shield on the parking lot will be a good idea

Wat wij vreemd vonden was dat je niet dagelijks water kreeg in de mini-bar.
1 flesje per persoon is toch wel de standaard tegenwoordig.

We had a wonderful stay at Katouna Suites.
The hotel is beautifully located on the mountain, with an absolutely amazing view of the sea and the surrounding landscape. Waking up every morning to this view was one of the highlights of our stay.
The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, the rooms are comfortable, and everything is very well maintained.
A very special thank you to Ria and Leti, who were incredibly kind, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They always welcomed us with a smile and were happy to help with anything we needed. Their warm and personal service made our stay even more enjoyable.
We also celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary during our stay, and we are very happy that we chose Katouna Suites for this special occasion.
We had a fantastic time in Lefkada and would definitely recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone looking for peace, wonderful hospitality and breathtaking views.
