Convenient, near Beppu station, free drinks
Pros:

Very near beppu station and there is a bus stop outside.
They let guests use the restaurant area to rest and take some soft drinks and coffee and tea. After 6pm there's even some free alcohol!

Cons:

Sound proofing could have been better. We heard the guests stomping around upstairs. We did get earplugs though.

Good place for one or more nights.
Pros:

Nice convenient location not far from the ferry port and easy walking distance to a variety of places. A two minute walk to the train station. Will stay here again next time we are in Beppu. The free happy hour until 8pm was great. Sampled a variety of alcohol at no cost. Had a decent breakfast in the morning as well. Will try the Onsen on our next stay.
