Hotel is located in a very convenient location; near train station and amenities around. The public bath is nice and adequate. breakfast has good selection of Japanese and non-japanese selection.

Cons:

The room was a little small (quite standard comparing to most Japanese hotel of this level). take this into consideration if you have large luggage(s).

Exceptional hotel, convenient location
Pros:

The hotel is right in front of Beppu Station, with bus stops along the road too. The room is cosy with a large bed and I loved that you can pick your own pillow firmness! The lounge was very relaxing and they also provided free drinks in the evening. The onsen was amazing and bigger than expected and accessible late at night/early morning (best part was you could see how full it was from your tv so you know when it's a good time to go to the onsen). The complimentary breakfast was also lovely, although there wasn't many options. Staff also speak English and are very patient. One of them took the time to recommend me dinner spots!

Cons:

The bathroom is very small and the door is translucent so it might be a little awkward.
