Decent hotel and our room was clean, generous and well equipped. Request high floors to avoid street noise which can disrupt sleep. One big negative is the breakfast is terrible. From the coffee, service and food on offer. We chose to get our breakfast outside.
It was our first time visiting Athens. We have been in many locations in Greece.
FO staff is absolutely friendly.
The room was big and contemporary designed and was quite big.
We had BB room unfortunately breakfast experience was disappointing due to ingredients and quality. Even you got early before closing time 30 min. Plate's are empty and staff said no replacement?
Room cleaned 2. Day but didn't change the bed sheet?
Thanks
I stayed at the Royalty Hotel Athens in October 2025. The positives: great location, right in the city centre. Large bedroom, comfortable bed, safe. Great shower but the bathroom itself was tired looking and the shower flooded the bathroom! Friendly, helpful staff.
The negatives: breakfast. Not very plentiful and what there was, was of poor quality. Hot food was cold. We went out for breakfast on our last day. Drilling from hotel restoration work at 8am every morning! Roof top terrace was tired looking and not very clean but great view of the Acropolis. Would I stay here again? No! I'm sure there are far better central hotels.
Excellent location
Great team
Lovely spa underneath
Rooms clean
Think they are updating in parts but overall location to metro, sites, shopping, restaurants was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and helpful
The location of this hotel is great. Staff were generally very knowledgeable and courteous. Unfortunately although we paid for a beautiful big room, we had to change to an older unrenovated one because of the noise. When we enquired if we'd receive a credit for the downgrade, we were told "it wasn't in the notes". Although we very much appreciated being moved so we could sleep, the room would barely rate as 2 stars. Sadly breakfast was pathetic. We visited the breakfast room twice during our 4 day stay but only had it once.
Terrible hotel - no cleaning, rooftop emty, no beers, poor hotel and breakfest ???? Dont go there
Location is good but the hotel is run down. Our room smelt mouldy and has black mould visible on floor and starting to protrude paint on wall. My husband became locked in a toilet on ground floor. A maintenance person had to be called to let him out. It became apparent all locks to other toilet doors were broken including a disabled toilet. There appears to be works going on on upper floors and an eclectic collection of stuff hanging about in breakfast area and roof garden adds to sense of mess and disorganisation. Only one lift was operational.
location location location! a gem if a hotel. walk to and see all the highlights and main attractions of Athens. staff professional and courtesy. room clean and comfortable with roof top patio. look no further book it
Loved the roof top patio and the view at night!
we liked the suites that we were upgraded to.
The food at the rooftop bar was not great and the breakfast was pretty good except for the rubbery eggs
Booked this Hotel from description and reviews When u fist enter the narrow doorway first impressions are old but clean Check in was easy and Mis Vasso on the desk was just brilliant throughout our stay Nothing was a problem restaurant suggestions etc any help The rooms are a nice surprise Very modern large bathroom in room safe plus lots of accessories The Hotel is in a great location About 150 from the main square which is home to many many restaurants a market and heaps of Shops The hop on hop off bus start here and is a great way to get around Just watch your rest bill They never show u a bill just proceed to get the payment If u want a hotel close to everything with roof top bar and a good view of the Acropolis great service check this hotel out For us it was the connivance of having everything at our doorstep
The hotel has an excellent private rooftop terrace with an unobstructed view of the Acropolis. The buffet breakfast is average and serves the purpose. We had a room overlooking the street and is a bit noisy because of the proximity to the market square, but traffc noise ended by 11pm.
The hotel is in a great location, very convenient to almost anything. We noticed it is not very quiet and the towels are hard like a sandpaper. Breakfast is so so .... no comments. And also, we did not get an VIP access when checked in. I have to mention to the staff the next day about it. They gave us a bottle of wine.
Loved how easy it was to walk to major historical cites, restaurants and shopping. No car needed.
Stayed in the king suite, plenty of room for a family of four. Common area in suite had strange layout and not really enough space to utilize as a family. Enjoyed the huge balcony which did have an acropolis view however the balcony furniture was very dirty. Could be a really cool space if it was maintained better. Room cleanliness was not great. Check in was quick but didn't get much information about the property or a particularly warm welcome. Breakfast was not very good. Good location, close to everything and very easy to get a cab.
Most amazing staff. Beautiful hotel, bedrooms and rooftop. Definitely will stay here again when visiting Athens. Close to many restaurants, shops and monuments.
Not sure HOW this property obtained a four star rating. Bathrooms had mold, were not cleaned, had "bubbling sewer" in the bathroom. Had six rooms in total and one couple had to be moved because their AC was broken. MOST importantly, upon our return from dinner, there were young girls (16-20) walking the halls of each floor saying "hello" to all open doors...don't want to make allegations but after 11pm, there is only ONE reason non-guests are walking each floor of the hotel.
While I would NEVER stay at this establishment again, I will say that the staff was very friendly.
Super convenient, nice staff, nice breakfast. Not very quiet, could use some lighting in halls, towels could use some fabric softner.
This is out 2nd stay there and we really love the location. Close to everything. Rooftop lounge is also a plus. Staff are excellent and very helpful.
