While you do get what you pay for; this hotel was next level awful. I knew it would be a tiny room but I didn’t expect to be able to hear the person in the next room passing gas. It sounded like he was next to me in bed while speaking. The smell of disinfectant was beyond overpowering, the toilet clogged. I left and got another room in a different hotel. Then I had to take a shower at the new hotel right away because the smell of the last hotel was still on me!!
Bathrooms were not very clean
Guys, how to put it - it works if you are a bit desperate or want to save some buck. Room was clearly fine, clean, and quiet. Bathrooms were not clean. Roof was leaking in my first room. Staff is nice though. Do some cleaning guys - it does not cost much, while will add a lot of value
Hotel very dirty
I did not stay
I want my money back
It is a very basic room, but the absolute best value you will find in downtown chicago as a single traveller in your own room.
The parking was reasonable, cheaper than any other street or garage parking in the area - it is an unmarked gated lot behind the building accessed from the alley and you do have to pay separately for it.
The room was very tidy and small, a twin size bed, TV, and nightstand. Altogether about 6'× 8'. I'm 6'2" and found it comfortable. There are 2 shared bathrooms, but they lock and each have a shower. These were also quite clean. There is also a shared refrigerator.
The location is amazing. Just a short ~20 min walk to mccormick place or soldier field, surrounded by fantastic restaurants, and between 2 grocery stores.
For a short trip it was perfect for one person that didn’t have high expectations.
After I was informed of how to turn off the heat pipe directed at my bed, it was a pretty comfortable stay. It was small, but worth the money compared to nearby options.
The shower had mold on the ceiling and the bathrooms in general were filthy. It does not look like the pictures at all.
Nice experience
Ok if you expect a standard hotel room you will be disappointed. What one gets here is a windowless closet with little soundproofing just bigger than your dingle bed. Toilet and shower rooms, of which there are only 2 are not that clean.
The price is interesting, the location good, the staff helpful, but not really a hotel room, closer to a hostel with shutting doors
I liked the place walking distance to places in Chicago.
The guy at the desk was nice but the rooms are too small
No toilet, no shower, no sink.
Perfect little place to stay for a night or two, great location near the lake, and close to Union Station.
Small but cheap, quiet and walking distance from soldier field. Would stay again as it's about half the cost of other places. Perfect for one night
Worst waste of money stay ever.upon checkin they charged me more than the agreed charge I had to sign for because I had no time to belabor the so called ‘cleaning fee’they never cleaned..i couldn’t understand the man’s broken English accent.i was too tired to argue in the summer heatwave & concerned about getting to my planned events on time .
They shut off all the hall lights at night.pitch black in the hall at night .the part time front deskman said ‘use the flashlight on your phone to get to you cell or the bathroom at night’.
A leak in the roof over my room caused rain dripping sounds in my cell (these aren’t hotel rooms as you would expect) the rain woke me up in the middle of the night & I couldn’t get back to sleep1 of the nights .
The hot water on the water dispenser didn’t work.
the Bathrooms were perpetually dirty, fixtures & furniture in the hotel were broken, clock, chair ,towel bar, bathroom shelf was broken & hanging down ,dirty floors doors, rusty I had never been to Chicago before senior traveling alone & chose it for proximity to my intended event.I called their phone numbers listed on the door when no 1 was at the front desk. 3 numbers ,no1 answered .the message minders was in a non English language even the hotels.com rep couldn’t get thru to them 2x’s when I asked them to call for me.of 3 hotels I stayed at this trip this was not only the worst but it vies with 1 other as being the worst ever in 60 yrs .of hotel travel experiences.
It was a great stay: close to anywhere. Highly recommended!
I stayed 4 nights while visiting for 2 Rolling Stones concerts. The owner was very accommodating in allowing me to check in early on arrival day. The on site manager was very friendly and a wealth of local information during my stay. And also helped me securely pack my concert lithograph for my flight home. The location was perfect to be able to walk to Soldier Field for the concerts and everything else I was planning to do. Bus service was almost in front of the building and the subway was a short 3 block walk. All body wash, shampoo, shaving cream, hair dryer and towels were provided. A small shared fridge, coffee and fresh water as well were provided. This will be my go to place for any future Chicago visits.
Great affordable place close to downtown with great staff.
Close to music venues.
