It was easy to check in.
The property is cheap looking, finished and furnished with the cheapest material I have ever seen. The lower level was the building basement. It smelled like mold, despite the running dehumidifier. At night, we felt the bugs crawling or flying on us.
that an alternative was offered that was not even designed for the number of people
Upon entering the front door, there was a strong smell of sewage. The apartment hadn't been vacuumed, the furniture was extremely dirty and disgusting. The bedrooms in the basement resembled a massage room with partition walls, and the bathrooms were also a disaster. We immediately checked out of the apartment and requested a cancellation. This had to be confirmed by the manager, who in turn had to forward it to the booking department... "we'll get in touch, we'll get in touch" - never heard from them again... a waste of money.
I did not realize this would be a two story room when we booked it. It was difficult for my husband with knee issues to get up and down the winding stairs and me to carry our heavy suitcases up and down. The two bedrooms were not actually two separate rooms, just one large room with a small partition separating the beds. Overall the stay was fine, it needs some improvements on how to communicate and some rust/mildew. It was not as convenient as mentioned in the ad to get to the acropolis or main areas. I did not feel safe staying out after dark in the areas we had to walk to to get anywhere. The city bus closest drop off was right in front of several "adult" establishments then you have to walk about 10 minutes on rough sidewalks dodging parked cars to get to the hotel.
this is a remote keyless entry. The difficulty for an American who arrives without a local Greek phone number is that there is no way to call the manager. Even after purchasing an eSIM card. I had to ask a stranger on the street to call the property management to help me enter my paid for rental.
We initially booked a two-bedroom apartment, but it turned out there was only one “bedroom,” which was just a half-walled space with no door, offering little privacy. The photos online didn’t match the reality, and the apartment had a strong, unpleasant mold smell throughout, especially in the poorly ventilated basement bedroom, where mold was visible on the walls.
We explained our concerns to the host, requesting a room change since the entire building had multiple available units. The host offered an alternative, Supreme Comfort Apartments by Athens Stay, located a 30-minute walk away. While this option was mold-free, it was even smaller than the original apartment and, contrary to the description, was not a true one-bedroom with a separate living room, but rather a studio where a thin curtain separated the bed from the living area. Additionally, the room wasn’t clean, there were no blankets, water leaked from the bathroom sink, and the faucet was broken.
Despite paying a higher price for our initial booking, this new apartment was half the value, with no apology, partial refund, or real effort to address our concerns. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
Location
Presented as a 2 bedroom appartment but it is one big bedroom with possibility to seperate with some cloth
Milton’s was the best part of the stay
Needed more cloth hangers proper chairs
Good location, good value for money, clean and comfy. The apartment is just what I needed for a short stay in Athens. Had a few troubles entering the apartment at first because the digital pad wasn't visible and not working properly. When I called the agency I got immediate help over the phone. The agent sent me a video explaining how to use the digital pad and stayed on the phone until it worked (tried approx 5 times). Would definitely recommend to others
