Hillside Crossing Nashville: I'll take you through the whole scenario. My wife and I have stayed here before and it has been kinda sketchy the 1st 2 times, but this time looked like a completly different place. April 2025 is the last time we stayed.We pull in and park. We see a couple of guys that looked homeless...we sat there for a bit because we were there too early to check in. In a few mins one of the guys just started walking towards our car and just happened to "have to" go right beside our car and walk off of the lot. When we checked in we were asked how we booked. I told her directly through the site. I asked if we could possibly get a lower level and was responded with" I dont have that or I would have given that" in a crappy tone ...like don't tell me how to do my job. Wasnt in any type of uniform just a gray tshirt. She explained where the room was and we were set. We went completely behind the building. As we turn the corner. There are 2 guys digging in the dumpster. Some dude with dog on a leash and just a couple random guys hangin around. There was a sign on one of the doors that said dont knock my kid inside or in here. A Couple plants outside..thought that to be strange because the rooms are nice and clean. The outside of the building is inviting..we go through the breezeway and two younger guys are just standing in a random spot hanging out and both are texting...strange too ..they have wifi so its not like that had to even be out in the heat.. we leave with friends that are staying as well for a concert. Come back that night to a guy standing on the back corner smoking this eyebrows off. ..Geeking out. Locked in the room. Slept good that night. The next morning a lady knocked on the door and i peeked outside. She was a white lady wearing a green shirt and she asked me my name and who i was with. I asked her what relevance was that and she changed the question to who did you book with AirBNB? And i was like no i reserved straight through the site a couple of months ago. She had just a piece of paper and a pen taking notes. Never introduced herself at all. Walked away saying she would.get us checked in...when I closed the door my wife is like check the bank account and call the front desk. Because we had checked in the previous day.Called the front desk and spoke to a lady about this strange encounter and she informed me the lady was the manager and that there was nothing for to do or to be concerned with..

Went out to eat breakfast and came back to either a homeless lady or prostitute or both walking off of the lot. wearing easy on and off clothes..short tshirt no bra.and short cotton shorts. This same lady pulled up beside us in a car on day one and about took the curb out. ..we go back to the room and stayed in there all day. I have never felt so uncomfortable about my wife being in potential danger. We love the Lost Paddy that is attached to the front of this hotel..Amazing owner and the best food and drink prices...Anyway, we are on the back of the hotel and didnt feel safe enough to walk to the front, eat, and come straight back without getting mugged or hustled in some way so we doordashed from the front of the hotel to the back. Later that night we start hearing bird calls outside or drug calls. Then we hear a lady saying we gonna need some percs over hear and kept hearing some guy crying for a bit. Received a call at 11:58pm from an unknown number. Midnight! Who does that? Later googled it as a number to hillside crossing apartments..finally well asleep about. 1am on day2 then woke up this morning at 430 to pack all of our stuff. Me and my wife were loaded and out the door by 730. Tried to check out but the lobby was closed. Called again at 922 and a man answered the phone with hello...I said is this hillside crossing and I could hear him talking to a woman and saying it was for her. She was nice and friendly.. stated she would get us checked out. Called back around 2pm to see if we could possibly get a refund for that last day and she said no we dont that its our policy. Stated that she would get us checked out and I said I spoke to someone like 4 hrs ago that stated she would get us check out as well. Absolutely the most terrible travel experience ever. We will never stay there again. What we figure happened was that ol'girl that checked us in put us in crackville part of the building and the manager came by the next day to see what and why that happened. Highly do Not recommend

Appalling experience. We drove over 10 hours to Nashville for the Alan Jackson concert. To be bluntly told we have no room for you. 37 rooms overbooked. They said they tried to contact us to let us know but could not let us know how they had done this. Women on reception was rude, unhelpful, and was more interested in her children also sat in reception.

Truly awful. We booked 4 months in advance, showed up and they had no knowledge of our booking and claimed they were full. Very unhelpful and the place did not look nice. This place should never be advertised on any website.

I am writing regarding my reservation on April 16th at 717 Spence Lane. Upon arrival, we encountered an active police presence at the property. We spoke directly with an officer and asked if it was safe to stay, and he clearly advised us that it was not safe and that we should leave immediately.

In addition, there were multiple individuals in the parking lot whose behavior made us feel unsafe to the point that we did not feel comfortable exiting our vehicle. Given these circumstances, we contacted the host right away to explain the situation. The response we received—suggesting we simply lock the deadbolt—did not address the immediate and serious safety concerns outside the unit.

For our safety, we made the decision to leave immediately and were forced to secure last-minute accommodations while traveling from out of state, resulting in additional costs and significant disruption to our plans.

Given that we were unable to safely access or stay at the property due to conditions on site, I am requesting a full refund. This situation was beyond our control and directly related to safety concerns at the listing. I ask that this matter be reviewed carefully and handled appropriately.
This was a terrible experience- please please look over all these reviews. Not safe at all.

This is not a hotel - it is a motel. The pictures are a total misrepresentation of this hotel. This is a drug-haven, unsafe environment. Please refund our moneys paid.

Room is fine. Staff is great. Location near enough to Broadway but hotel not super luxurious but good enough

Room was okay, staff were friendly and helpful. Things were very loud at night with a lot of traffic and speeding through.

There was nothing in the kitchen, and the television did not work

Worst hotel ever. Please read all reviews about what's going on. Very unsafe place. Dirty, noisy at all hours and very unsavory people wandering around. We paid for 4 nights, checked out at crack of dawn after 1st night. No refund from hotel or Expedia. Go directly to your credit card company and put in a dispute. Nobody should have to pay for this.

The staff was super friendly, the room was very comfortable and had all the amenities, coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The fitness center was convenient and clean. Great deal.

Air conditioning barely worked. Photos do not match up with the actual rooms and building.

DO NOT stay here! Prostitutes and crackheads everywhere hanging out at this place. Had a prostitute bang on our door looking for someone. Someone also sh** in a bag and placed it front of another door. We checked out immediately…wasn’t even there for 3 hours. And the front desk did NOTHING for us claiming they didn’t know anything about what hangs around their place, yet they are hanging out everywhere. Did not feel safe, let alone leaving our vehicle in the parking lot. NEVER would recommend anybody staying here.

Pool was green dirty and un usable. There are permanent resident walking around all times of the night. Broken beer bottles in hallways, place constantly smells of weed. Bathroom had a ceiling leak and moldy odor.

The weather kept us from the pool, and the TV didn't work because of the weather we think. It kept going in and out. Otherwise the room was nice and new, checkout we couldn't find anyone and had to just leave the fob on the lower counter as we had to get on the road.

This is our chosen place to stay in Nashville. Clean, safe, great staff, and a short drive to downtown. The Lost Paddy also has great food!

This is a crack hotel. It is filled with section 8 housing. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Yes, it’s super affordable, but that’s for a reason!!!! The staff were very friendly and understanding, however the area is unsafe.

Tamara at the front desk was wonderful. Got to our room and definitely smelled like smoke. We thought we could deal with that since we would be out during the days but there is a lot of stuff going on out in the parking lots and in the hallways. One room had junk piled in front of it, and a broken screen hanging from it. The people milling around while it was late were very undesirable, loud and scary. There were cars being worked on even late at night out in the parking lot.One girl had a pitbull that had a leash, but was still just wandering around without her holding it. This was all going on when my husband went out to get something out of our car and told me to absolutely not go out there.It felt so unsafe that we got up at 5 AM and just packed our stuff and got out of there even though our reservation was for four nights. It was not worth being unsafe. There is no way that management does not know what’s going on there. It seems as if there are people living there and it’s not just a hotel. This hotel should certainly not be promoted by Expedia.
