My wife and I spent a night at the Kimpton with our dogs for our anniversary. The hotel is pretty nice. The staff was very friendly and I love that they are very pet friendly. We stayed in an Epic King Suite and the room was large and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice and spatious.
Now the things that could have been better.
- the floors in the hallways had numerous stains
- the floor in the room needed a mop. Both of our feet were dark from walking around the room
- there isn't a designated pet relief area
- the biggest problem is the noise from outside. Deep Ellum is loud, even on a Sunday night and you can hear it all in the room. It finally quieted down after 2am.
Overall, I would stay here again even though it was not perfect.
Front desk is the best. Thanks Holli! Rooms are new, clean and stylish
A Perfect Anniversary Stay – VIP Treatment from Start to Finish
My wife and I chose the Kimpton Pittman Hotel to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like true VIPs. Every interaction was warm, genuine, and thoughtful.
We were surprised with a room upgrade, a $100 hotel credit, and complimentary breakfast for two the next morning. The highlight was an unexpected and incredibly kind gift from the Chef and Culinary team at Elm & Good, which made our celebration feel even more special.
The hotel itself is beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located — steps from Deep Ellum and just minutes from Downtown Dallas. For the level of service and luxury, the rates are very reasonable.
Our entire stay was seamless, relaxing, and truly sublime. I highly recommend the Kimpton Pittman to anyone visiting Dallas, especially for a special occasion.
Restaurant food choices were odd.
Good location, nice hotel with on-site restaurant
Everything was ok. I had no problem with noice from the street that others have complained about.
Unless you are heavily into the party scene, don't even think about coming here on a Friday or Saturday night. You will not fall asleep until maybe 2am.
The hotel has a decidedly "W" vibe .... industrial .... not warm or welcoming.
I won't go into everything I didn't like about this place, as I didn't plan on writing a book.
However, I did venture into the restaurant for breakfast and it was one of the worst experiences at a hotel restaurant. There was an overly loud drunk woman at the bar, and I had to get re-seated twice, as I really didn't care to listen to her rantings and BS.
I got a female server whom was absolutely terrible. She was MIA 90% of the experience, and screwed up my order. I always ask for coffee with cream (half and half), but this moron drops the coffee on the table and disappeared for 15 minutes. I finally asked one of the runners for a new cup with half and half, and that coffee was cold also.
I ordered a waffle which came out cold so that had to be sent back. The new one was slightly warmer but not hot, either.
She also forgot the berries that I ordered (and never received).
If you do wind up here, ask for one of the male servers. But, DON'T wind up here.
Honestly, if they can't do breakfast correctly, I would STAY AWAY from dinner at this place. They will likely really screw that up.
Stay Elsewhere, and safe and happy travels !
I liked (not loved) this hotel. We had a spacious suite which was clean. The restaurant was decent, but somehow they messed our breakfast order up daily which was odd because it was quite empty.
I saw bikes in the lobby that you could borrow I think. They also had a postcard stand in the lobby which you could write postcards and they are supposed to mail them out but neither one I sent ever was delivered to the recipient. The building is historic which is really cool and you can read about it on some plaques that they have posted.
Location is pretty nice, there are restaurants nearby and we wandered around and found a classic car show nearby on a weekend.
I am not sure if I would book this hotel again, it was good but there are better hotels in this price point in Dallas.
Great hotel downtown Dallas in Deep Ellum area. All of the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and nice. I had a small breakfast and coffee at Elm and Good the restaurant on site and it was lovely. Great service all around. Eleanor at the front desk knew it was my birthday and had a small charcuterie and bottle of wine sent to our room. Very nice touch! The common areas are quiet and modern and I could get some work done. No coffee maker in rooms but states that you can request one. Valet is $55/ night. There is coffee in the lobby in the mornings. Bikes are available to use. Very happy with my stay here and I will return.
The noise from the nightclub in front of the hotel won’t let you sleep during the night. They keep
On honking and having flghts at 2:30 in the morning on both friday and saturday nights and our room was on the 3rd floor directly facing this whatever establishment that is.
Furthermore, they took more than 40 minutes to take the breakfast order and still brought the wrong item after waiting for an hour. The food at that elm restaurant is extremely ordinary: the eggs Benedict seemed watery, the dinner salmon was salty and too dry.
the hotel vibe also lacks the regular Kimpton feel and the lobby and rooms lacked character and charm.
The lcoation
They gave us the wrong room. I had to fight to get the right room. No breakfast available. The power went out so we were unable to do anything. No coffee in room.
Nice rooms and staff
The location was very noisy. Right next to train tracks and bars with loud music and bass that you can hear until 2am. Couldn’t sleep.
We were able to check in upon arrival (earlier than check-in time) which we greatly appreciated. Loved the amenities in the bathroom!
We asked for help with a dinner reservation, communicated with the team for days prior to check-in. But upon arrival they had no idea what I was talking about, which was frustrating. The barn door into the bathroom is just not practical - and so difficult to move. We booked a room with breakfast included, but the on-site restaurant couldn’t clarify what that meant. Only after asking Reception a third time did we receive an explanation of what we could order. I suppose we just expected better service.
Very cool building, the pool was nice. I liked having an actual bathtub in the bathroom. We never had to wait on an elevator. Cookies and lemonade at check-in was nice.
The pool only gets morning sun. The pictures on the website are a little misleading as far as sun exposure. There was a stain on the bed sheets when we took the covers back. Housekeeping was prompt when coming to change the sheets, so that was appreciated. One other thing was a hair (most likely pubic) on one of the windowsills.
It was very modern and clean
Lack of parking.
