Good for business trip
Pros:

1. the location is great, just right next to the City Hall station exit 2.
2. the bed is very comfy.
3. the room is big and the equipments are handy and adequate.
4. the shower is huge.

Quality stay , hopeful for change
Pros:

This is my second time at the hotel after a span of 2 years. I still like the hotel for its convenient location, the room’s well-stocked kitchenette and its amenities. We love the hotel for the spacious room, bathroom and the view. Its well stocked fridge is a great bonus for me and my family . The room is still clean and well maintained. We have restful nights in this hotel.

Cons:

My family and I were taken aback by the lack of warmth from the front desk. Except for a gentleman with glasses and a young lady with bob hair style who greeted us and the rest of the guests, the other staff at front desk were quite cold, indifferent and nonchalant about the guests. We could feel the cold aura as we approached them for assistance. Initially I thought it’s only us that they were unfriendly but then as I observed from the lobby, it’s the same towards other guests. It’s very different from the past experience in 2023. The experience at the restaurant is the same whereby the front counter service staff were indifferent and one young chap was quite hostile as we asked about the welcome drink. I wondered if it’s the usual norm in Taiwan now as we noticed that the service staff in shops, department stores did not say “welcome” like in the past. It could be tourist fatigue / lack of tourist fatigue - I am not sure. With due justice, the bell boys at the front door are very friendly and helpful. IA lengthy post as I am trying to figure out why and hope the management to review. I will like to go back to the same hotel in the future and see if things have improved as Hanns House is a little gem that we love.

Not worth the money
Pros:

This hotel is seriously overrated and absolutely not worth the money I paid for it. At nearly $300 per night, you expect a much higher level of quality and overall experience.

The room itself was just okay, but there were visible signs of mould or dirt on the walls, which is unacceptable at this price point. Amenities in the room were extremely limited as well. Again, for almost $300 a night, you naturally expect a lot more.

The breakfast was honestly a joke. Instead of a proper buffet with decent variety, the only meat options were a few pieces of dry ham and sausage links. That’s basically it. The whole breakfast experience felt more like a cheap motel than a supposed five-star hotel.

The most disappointing part is that I stayed during a regular weekend, not even peak tourist season, so the pricing makes even less sense.

Overall, I would not recommend staying here. In my opinion, the hotel is heavily overpriced for what it actually offers.

Das Frühstück bot wenig Abwechslung. Im Restaurant waren etliche Gerichte von der Karte nicht verfügbar und das Essen war zwar sehr lecker, aber überteuert. Der Fußboden im Zimmer war nicht sehr sauber. Es gab keinen Kosmetikspiegel auf dem Zimmer.

Great Stay in Taipei
Pros:

Great location, friendly and engaging staff and a lot of variety in the breakfast buffet.

Cons:

Rooms are not very soundproof (traffic and corridor noise) and the AC/heating was very noisy.
