The African Paradise Beach Hotel

The owners are the kindest people I’ve ever met. The swimming pool is right on the beach.

The welcome, even though we arrived at midnight, was warm and very friendly, and the flowers on the bed plus the towel 'sculptures' made our arrival feel very special. Pia and Hassim work hard to create a lovely atmosphere, and the staff are all friendly and full of smiles (plus efficient service). The breakfast deserves a special mention, as Pia and the kitchen staff cannot believe that the very generous three course breakfasts is 'too much'as we tried to protest! We didn't manage all three courses on any of the mornings we were there, but we enjoyed all we ate. Fruit juice, a VERY generous fruit plate of assorted fruits, a second course that varied each day but might include pancakes, beans, sausages, etc, was then followed by an egg course. Eggs any way you could possibly want them. What a great start to the day, and served with the most incredible view over the sand and the sea. Lunches, drinks and evening meals were also very good indeed.

Our first floor room had a great sea-view balcony with two relaxing sofas, and we loved watching the sea advance and retreat, and the locals heading along the beach as part of their daily routines. A boat trip out at high tide was amazing, and the temperature of the sea is hard to believe. It is genuinely as hot as bath water!

Bwejuu is a poor area, and those living just behind the hotel live in very basic single storey dwellings on dusty streets, drawing water from wells and living very simply. The contrast between their circumstances and the 'paradise' created inside the hotel made us feel even more blessed to have experienced a stay at African Paradise Hotel.

On arrival we received a warm welcome from Pia and Hasim the owners, with a welcome drink and cake. The 6 Bedroom Hotel was set in a perfect location with direct access to the quiet powdery white sand beach, but only a short distance to Paje, if you wanted something more lively. We stayed in the beautifully decorated and very clean 2 Bedroom Suite with private balcony and seaview overlooking the pool and beach.
Pia, Hasim and their excellent staff were so attentive to their guest needs throughout our 11 night stay, even to the extent of offering guests a Free Boat Snorkeling Trip, unlimited tea and coffee throughout the day, everyday, plus free cakes in the afternoons.
The food they served was excellent from the large 3 plate breakfast, consisting of a Fruit Plate, a Meze or Waffle/Pancake Plate and finished off with an Egg Plate with Toast. The lunch and evening meal menu had a good variation of dishes from local to western meals to suit everyone's palette, of which every meal we had was very good, especially the fish and seafood, plus the wali maharage.
Then at the end of our stay before we left the African Paradise, Pia and Hasim even gave us leaving gifts, to help us remember our memorable stay with them at their Hotel/House.

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel in Zanzibar. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. Their warmth and genuine kindness made all the difference and turned a great stay into an unforgettable one.

The hotel itself was lovely, clean, comfortable, and perfectly located for a relaxing getaway. Every detail felt thoughtfully considered, and the atmosphere was peaceful and inviting. The food at the restaurant was INCREDIBLE and the best food we had in Zanzibar/tanzania!

老板和员工都很热情，免费的早餐也很丰富，有鲜榨果汁新鲜水果加主菜，午餐晚餐价格也合理，龙虾做得很好吃！门口的沙滩就很漂亮，还可以帮助订桑岛的游玩项目，专车接送不用脑子！

Eles foram sempre incrivelmente gentis e atenciosos. O café da manhã estava espetacular, a música muito gostosa, e os gatinhos e cachorrinhos... super carinhosos! 🐾
Sinceramente, acho que nunca me senti tão bem tratado quanto lá.
Eles te mimam o tempo todo: desde as boas-vindas calorosas, passando por um passeio de barco que o hotel nos deu de presente, até um detalhezinho na hora da partida.
E como restaurante... amei o octopus CCC e o Byriani! Os drinks eram excelentes também! Recomendo demais!

Alle sehr freudlich und hilfreich bei Ausfügen. Direkter Zugang zum Strand. Sehr ruhig und mit wenigen Leuten. Gemütlich und ruhig. Blick vom Zimmer mit grosser Terrasse. Essen war sehr gut.

Die sehr netten Besitzer und das Personal ist sehr sehr herzlich. Wir wurden mit einem persönlichen Willkommensgruß und kleinem Geschenk empfangen. Die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und die Lage direkt am Strand mit dem Pool ist fantastisch. Nicht zu vergessen, dass leckere Essen, weil es so lecker war haben wir jeden Tag dort gegessen. Vielen lieben Dank Pia, Leo und eurem Team.!

Ich habe mich noch nie so aufgehoben gefühlt. Die Hotelbetreiber waren jederzeit für ihre Gäste erreichbar. Auch wenn man mal unterwegs war und spontan zurück ins Hotel wollte, wurde in kürzester Zeit ein Transport organisiert.

Im Hotel selber war auch alles sehr gut. Unterkunft und Verpflegung.

The African Paradise has stolen our heart. The location is briliant- right at the beach. Every day you can choose between the sea or the pool. You can walk (or run) for kilometers on the beach. You can walk to Paje if you want huste and bustle, while the hotel is at a peaceful and quiet location. The rooms and pool are good and clean. Food is great, both for breakfast and dinner. But the best part of the hotel are the owners who are genuinely friendly, extremely hospitable and always ready to help. The staff is also friendly and professional.

This area is pretty quiet and close to The Rock Restaurant, Paje beach, the southern beaches and the turtle aquarium. My boyfriend and I didn’t have high expectations, but the owners and the staff totally impressed us, they re super friendly, thoughtful and professional. We really hope this palce keeps doing amazing.
