Coral View Beach Resort

The restaurant that was out on the oceanfront had good food and service. The only complaint was issues with payment. We booked through Expedia with the option to pay at location. They wabted to charge more. But they did cancel the reservation eventually and then we rebooked through Expedia and paid on the Expedia website for that price. Also note when comparing prices with other places to stay, they charge 36.00 a day for the 2nd traveler, where other properties the cost listed is for 2 travelers per room. So may seem cheaper than another place, but once add the 36.00 for the 2nd person in the room it's more expensive. So compare the total costs, don't just look at the price quoted as total cost on Expedia, because they are adding that additional fee.

The bartenders and wait staff were very nice. There is lots of property but much unused. LOTS of construction and noise. Couldn't nap after time snorkeling and beach time. They were drilling in the room next to me. Banging tables on the floor in the foyer to set up the meeting room. Very loud. Lots of potential to be a better place. Likely won't go again u fortunately. The location is great. Shame.

Had to make a couple of day trips to Utilla from the mainland and stayed at Coral View both times. Restaurant and staff are great and the sea side bar is wonderful. Katarina is a great bar tender! Eddie the tuk tuk driver is a bonus too!

We stayed at Coral View so we could do a lot of snorkeling and we did. The staff was very helpful and the food was good. We would stay there again.

This place is really special! My wife and I have been to many dive resorts over decades of travel. The Coral View ranks very highly in our list of faves, primarily because of its no-hassle convenience of everything and their really nice and accommodating staff. These features make it among the best values and most relaxing we have ever experienced. The dive shop is out back on the bay, they have a really good restaurant on site, the bar is out over the water (with fantastic views), and you walk down a few steps off the bar and you’re snorkeling on a stellar reef. They have a huge, clean built-in pool adjacent to the bar and comfortable, although a bit limited, seating and sunning furniture. You’re far away from the total craziness of the Utila Town yet it’s easy to get there. We walked to town in about 20 minutes, but we recommend renting a scooter for convenience.
Our room was comfortable, very clean and gave us more than enough space. The bed was fairly new and comfortable. A/C was very good, and quiet. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. My wife needed a blow dryer, and they had one there the same day. We didn’t see one insect in the room during our entire week there. The water pressure often had problems delivering up to our fourth-floor room, but other guests told us it wasn’t too bad elsewhere. If we gave it some time, it did deliver ample hot water. Hey, it’s on a tiny island!

We had a wonderful time at Coral View, food and drinks were great, the room was very clean. All employees were very helpful. Had a great experience at the dive shop and would love to come back. The sand fleas or no see 'ums were pretty bad but the staff helped us.

Property is older but very clean and staff is friendly. Restaurant and dock bar has excellent food and Lenny the bartender is fabulous. Gorgeous coral reef right off the dock.

Dive Center Manager ( Jorge ) top notch, attentive and helpful above and below the water.

1 mile from center of small village, used Tuk Tuk to go everywhere for $2 per trip, much cheaper than renting a scooter for $35 per day.

Best restaurant is Mango Tango, easily, with quite tasty gourmet food.

We knew this would not be a 5 star resort, the pictures that other travelers have posted are accurate. Everyone who worked there were extremely friendly and helpful, they cared about the service they provided. The hotel owners should think about updating the rooms one by one over time as the bathroom needed tons of help, from the leaking shower to missing tiles. The beds and pillows were not supportive and I actually felt like I was sleeping on a water bed. The pool was operational as was the bar. There was one set of steps into the water that was damaged and not usable. The benefit of the location is that the resort doesn't have a lot of traffic as it is at the end of the road.
