The staff are lovely and attentive the live music is great good quality food good parking
The sauna not working this is a shame as was looking forward to a spa day
I was so impressed with the friendliness of the young chap on duty in reception when I booked in. He was so pleasant and helpful a credit to the hotel. Room 9 was such a treat: comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. My breakfast was delicious: the scrambled egg was the best I have ever tasted. All the cooked food was hot, perfectly cooked and very tasty all in all a great way to start the day. Compliments to the chef and staff...
The only minor criticism is: I would have liked more juice in the mixed fruit as it was rather dry...
The girls in the spa were fantastic and the treatments amazing. Would definitely be back to go there.
The singer on the Friday night was great entertainment so that was a bonus.
The service in the restaurant for dinner was a little slow, but everyone was lovely.
Easy access to spa area.
Lack of availability for spa treatments
Staff very friendly and lovely location. Nicely decorated reception and restuarant
Room 21 shouldnt be used for families unless a warning is given about the noise and perhaps families with older children may accept this at a DISCOUNTED rate. We got a decent deal for £200 bed and breakfast, but put into context it was 6 hours sleep in a noisy room. My 7year old and 3 year old were both kept awake until midnight due to the noise from band/bar area. Appreciate this was a Saturday night but many hotels have entertainment and it shouldnt affect the quality of the stay.
I had steak for dinner and the majority was too tough to cut through. The waiter acknowledged what was left on the plate and when i explained i couldnt cut through it he apologised, but no effort was made thereafter and the issue was ignored. Dealing with two tired children who wanted to go back to bed to rest after tea i didnt hang about complain about paying for a steak that couldnt be eaten.
Sauna shouldnt be in use due to damage and dirt under seats and walls. Pool was nice otherwise and kids enjoyed it
Love the hotel just abit nosey on friday night with a young child with autism she found it difficult to settle until the music went of as our room was no20 and seemed to be right above the music
Location was good for me
Rooms a little tired. Bathroom needs updating
Cleanliness.Music in the foyer was good. Croissants were to die for. Chips and chicken wings were good. Indian bar man was great.
Outdated.Restaurant was cold.Room was cold.Booked a junior suite . It was shabby. Cost 220 for the night.dark in living area.
Incredibly noisey hotel that nite
My daughter had an interview the next day and was woken a number of times with talking and doors banging.
Hotel was in a great location with beautiful surroundings, staff were fantastic, food was very good and the hotel was clean and tidy.
Spa was lovely, although little disappointed the dry sauna wasn’t working, but I could see they are working on it so shouldn’t be down for long.
Would highly recommend
Could do with water in the room for tea and coffee. I did read this before in previous review so brought my own but would be nice if it was provided.
My room was comfortable and clean and reasonably priced
I didnt like that there was no robes (which is knee before coming) but I didnt realise there was not even a locker included for use of the spa area unless you were getting a treatment.
Beautiful hotel rooms lovely pool and facilities lovely food.
Very hard mattress
Large bath towels very small
Enjoy very comfortable night and a great breakfast
Nothing
The hotel is very comfortable, staff were very obliging and food is delicious ..we've stayed before and still great hotel ...
The breakfast was a bit cold.
The spa and sauna and swimming pool were excellent, the spa is inside the swimming pool just beside the steps into the pool, the pool depth is completely stand up in up in the deep end which is good for anyone wondering if they can get overwhelming too deep to stand up in, the location of the swimming pool was nice and close to the room we stayed as in out room door and straight down the corridor into the room were pool, spa and sauna are located, we were on the ground floor up to the right hand side of entering the hotel looking out towards the front of the hotel, initially we booked a standard double room but for £25 extra they gave us a upgraded room which by the looks of the room both type rooms would have been lovely and comfortable, the room was spacious and very comfortable, the bathroom had a walk in type shower space which I liked, the decor of the room was purely just nice with tea / coffee and kettle etc . The dining area was really comfortable and nice and relaxing and the menu was excellent and the servings were amazingly plentiful, personally I picked the Angus double beef burger with fries , I chose the soup of the day which was vegetable soup with a bread roll which was nice and tasty and for dessert I picked a slice of cake that tasted to me like Jaffa cake biscuits which was delicious with a small round scoop of vanilla ice cream, the meal was a 2 for 1 offer on anything on the menu ie a starter and mains or a mains and dessert for approximately £22 each which was very reasonable for the size portions, the meal can be served with ice water included as requested as well as the usual tea and coffees etc. it was our very first time visiting this hotel and everything was first class and really relaxing and overall it was excellent and we would definitely be returning again purhaps in the spring/ summer time, the sauna has 6 seats in the room.
The heat in the room thermostat is set for 22 degrees Celsius but it was ok but heat could have been a little bit more noticeabley warm but having said that it was comfortable, heat temperature can feel different to different people and 22 degrees strikes a happy medium, as noted in another post by another person that the connection to watching a tv documentary on ITVX had a little buffering but nothing catastrophic, the storm chandra may have caused interference. But overall everything was fine.
