Don Plaza Congress Hotel

The hotel is very outdated and needs some TLC. The bath and coffee mugs were not cleaned properly. Staff on the other hand was lovely and very helpful. It is located in the nice location close to the city center and nice parks and walks.

В целом отель хороший. Но есть 2 больших минуса. На ресепшене не берут и не меняют валюту. Достать рубли не удалось, пришлось платить картой. Трансфер обошёлся в 100$ вместо 40$. Заранее уточняла на счёт водителя и оплаты, но по приезду водитель отказался брать 40$, скинувшись на то что они какие-то не такие. Хотя деньги механически не были повреждёнными.

Not first time in this hotel. But this time it was family trip. Clean and pretty pretty nice rooms. Not all views are pleasant. You’d better get view to the streets. Staff is very pleasant and service is quite good! Breakfast is very delicious and there’s big choice! Thanks a lot! It became my favorite hotel in Rostov-on-Don!

Convenient location, price (atleast at the time of my search) was reasonable and better than similar places. Good service, room was a bit small, but very clean, AC controls could be better, one complain though was WiFi was not good at all upstairs, but overall, I'd recommend it.

Everything was ok, over all the place needs an update all over, room needs fast change, breakfast wasn't great, more variety. Should include airport transfers, staff and service nice. Over all the location was the best, in the heart of the city, with a bit of updating the place will deserve its name - Don Plaza.

Excellent service! By far is the greatest location, I loved the stay there.All the personal are very kind, my special congratulations to all the girls at the breakfast service ! Also the food is great.

I have to say that the staff was very friendly and helpful, they solved any problems quickly and efficiently. (safe was not working) The rooms were neat and tidy, the only thing which could have been better was the variety of dinner. Breakfast was excellent, varied (pancakes, different flavors of juices, eggs, tea, coffee, toast, marmelade, yoghurt, kefir, milk, coffe in different styles were all available) and lasted for a long time. The only disadvantage was that we still heard the traffic although we were at the top of the hotel (16th floor), so keep your earplugs ready for good sleep. All in all I can only recommend this hotel, also because of the location and the ATM´s inside it. (3 in total)

The place is extremely well located to all of the main sights that Rostov has to offer, the food in the restaurant was amazing and really felt home-made, the rooms were modern and this hotel proved to be a good sleep in a chaotic time like the World Cup.

Stayed here for the World Cup, so someone else was picking up the tab, but even that didn’t help the experience. Poor bar, old rooms, dreadful beds and curtains that stopped a foot short. I had 7 nights poor sleep which left me almost unable to function. Avoid if possible.

It’s complicated to rate this hotel, I stayed here during World Cup, and I don’t really know how to rate it.
The location is fantastic in one of the main streets of the city, rooms are old but comfortable, a big issue is that there is no way to sleep in the dark as the courtains don’t block day light l, the services are slow, the amenities normal.
In resume for Rostov probably is a great hotel but for someone that need a good hotel this is a normal not special hotel.

The facilities of the hotel were brilliant, but I wanted to Thank the staff in particular!

The only one good is its placement. if you take the upper floor and river view - it looks nice at night.
more disadvantages than you can even imagine. no wi-fi, old furniture, such a soviet time hotel. clean but too exhausted. uncomfortable sleeping. doesn't cost the price at all. pure breakfast.

As always when comes to the hotel experience - hotel staff is the one making huge difference - Congress Hotel Don Plaza is just one of these examples where kind and attentive staff and team going extra mile to meet and exceed guest expectations

I was thinking shall I write all my feelings or not but I decided to share with all. I had 2 night stay in this horrible hotel. After check in you have to wait lots of minutes the lifts. They have plaza ( you can just think about floors nothing else about plaza) and just 2 lifts. When I opened room door I saw very small, bed decorated old room. Then I checked wardrobe for hang my clothes they have just 3 hangers in it. Anyway I thought I will order from reception. I checked room but there is no safe in the room !!! I went reception and asked safe. They sad me you have safe in the room. I came back to my room and checked but there is not. Even one maid was also came with me to the room and we checked together. THERE IS NO SAFE !!!
I went back to reception and said them there is no safe. They promised me to fix to my room one safe. I said please fix it do not leave safe into the wardrobe. They sad of course not. Also if you have no Russian gsm number you can not connect WiFi. Such a 4 STAR HOTEL!!!!! receptionist opened with her number my WiFi but connection is very weak.
When I came back from out, I checked safe in the room. There is safe but not fixed. Anybody can carry it. Maximum 2 kilos. I took safe and go back to reception. I sad is this your service ?? Anyway I understood that this hotel has no worry about guest satisfaction. Next day I went to breakfast. They have restaurant but just for dinner. Why because restaurant is extra. Breakfast is in 2nd floor and on the corridor as you can see the photos. I shocked. Also you can not find anything to eat. They do not care happiness of guests. I never seen such a poor, old and full of negative energy Hotel in my life. They have no even 2 star hotel standards. I can not say any bad things about personal. All mistakes are belongs to management and to the boss. Never try to stay here never !!!!!

Unacceptable for a hotel even of a 3 star not to have a hot water in its taps.

Hotel doesn´t correspondence 4 star plus category!!!!!!
