Man kommt nicht in sein Zimmer – das ist nicht normal.

Es war unvorstellbar, dass wir die Polizei rufen mussten, um in unser Zimmer zu gelangen.
Am Sonntag, dem 10. Mai, gegen 21 Uhr, konnten wir nach unserer Rückkehr von einem Spaziergang unser Zimmer (104) nicht betreten, da sowohl die Tür vom Flur im Erdgeschoss als auch die Tür vom Aufzug im ersten Stock blockiert waren und sich mit unserer Schlüsselkarte nicht öffnen ließen. Am Vortag hatte es eine ähnliche Situation gegeben, und wir mussten einen Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption um Hilfe bitten. Am Abend war niemand an der Rezeption.Anrufe unter der Nummer, die auf der Visitenkarte des Hotels und auf der Website angegeben war, wurden nicht beantwortet.Zwei Amerikaner (die ebenso wie wir Gäste des Hotels waren) und der sie begleitende Österreicher schlossen sich der Suche nach einer Lösung an. Sie kehrten an diesem Abend später als wir ins Hotel zurück.Es wurde beschlossen, die Polizei zu rufen. Die Polizisten entdeckten nach erfolglosen Versuchen, das Personal zu erreichen, nicht sofort (die Rezeption war schlecht beleuchtet) auf dem Monitor an der Rezeption einen kleinen Aufkleber mit einer Notrufnummer. Es ist unklar, warum diese Nummer nicht auf der Visitenkarte und auf der Website des Hotels angegeben ist. Eine Polizeibeamtin rief diese Nummer an, und am anderen Ende der Leitung erklärte man ihr, dass man, um in unser Zimmer zu gelangen, auf die Straße gehen, das Hotel von der anderen Seite umgehen, durch das Hintertor gehen und über eine „geheime“ Treppe direkt in den ersten Stock hinaufsteigen müsse, um die Tür mit unserer Karte zu öffnen. Am nächsten Morgen verließen wir das Hotel, ohne eine Entschuldigung oder irgendeine Erklärung erhalten zu haben.Ich habe dies geschrieben, damit diejenigen, die einen Aufenthalt in Zimmer 104 des Hotels planen, auf solche „Überraschungen“ vorbereitet sind.

Hotel je moderan, sobe su čiste i komforne. Doručak je dobar. Osoblje je ljubazno.

Cons:

Für €130,-/Nacht für eine Person war die Ausstattung, des doch sehr schönen Zimmers, etwas dürftig. Minibar oder zumindest ein Mineralwasser erschiene mir schon angebracht.

Newish hotel that is clean and functional
Pros:

The location is good for Mauthausen. It's across the (busy) road from the Danube. My room was comfortable and clean. It was at the back of the hotel which meant it was quiet, but the house up the hill looked straight into my window. Breakfast was fine. There were a few places to eat within about 1 km. Staff were accommodating.

Cons:

I visited during off-season and It's a small hotel with a small staff, so sometimes there were no staff to be seen. It might very well be the best option in Mauthausen, but it was overpriced compared to some other hotels in which I stayed in Germany and Austria. As with most European hotels the concept of a top sheet was hard to convey.

Could be a great place but only average
Pros:

Nice new hotel, great location

Cons:

Looks shiny, but not practicaly designed when it comes to rooms. Water is escaping the shower, not comfortable. Remote not working. Really not practical menu card in the restaurant when you would like to have a small snack. No reception crew whatsoever. Works OK, but no chance to ask for anything extra.
