Fabulous. Would recommend it!
Everything! Comfortable beautifully appointed room, excellent food and lovely staff.
Delicious, made-to-order cooked breakfast from a wide menu. Coffee of my choice. Not fast but cooked freshly so absolutely fine. Make sure your room has a fan. It's get hot in the room even in April. Clever velux window in the bedroom that closes automatically if it rains so you can leave it open when you sleep. In Room 5 at least you can't hear the restaurant at all.
Location, bed was large and comfortable
Room was noisy ( next to main busy road), dark ( lighting was terrible), room service was next to zero ( no housekeeping until a complaint was made), attitude of staff was poor, food was average especially breakfast where our requests went unfulfilled. Our first day breakfast was at a table where the filthy carpet beneath still had food on it from the night before.
The manager, we can only assume he was the manager, was rude, smug and arrogant and minced around the place with a nasty smell under his nose.
This was our third visit and stay, the first two a few years ago being a lovely experience with different staff, this was most definitely the worst and last.
Location, lovely decor, amazingly yummy food, great friendly staff and will definitely be going back soon!
That we couldn’t stay longer because they were fully booked!! ;)
Ideally situated to explore the New Forest.
Room was very comfortable.
Would definitely stay again
Convenient location for a party we were attending. Lovely we could get a late lunch when we arrived, which was delicious. Would definetly stay again.
Loved the location, the warm welcome from all staff, the food was amazing, the room was cosy, clean and comfortable
Comfortable bed and spacious room. Excellent breakfast. Plenty of parking space.
First morning shower was cold - apparently the boiler was switched off.
Comfortable and stylish room. Staff were excellent
There was a smell in the hallway but didn’t affect our room. Poached eggs were overcooked at breakfast
The room was comfortable
The toilet was not working. The water isolator had been turned off so someone must have known about the problem and not informed us. We only found out when we had already used it. When I turned on the water supply the water just ran straight into the toilet bowl without filling up the cistern. We had to turn the water off again and use the toilets in the pub. We sent a message first thing in the morning and informed the woman who checked us out. Nobody had bothered to get back to us. Very poor service.
i brought this for my daughter and her partner and they couldn't rate it highly enough. The room was beautiful with a great breakfast. They had a lovely time - thankyou.
Location, rooms and ambience
We were there on a Sunday eve and it felt like the staff did not want to be there. We felt a bit rushed over dinner
Very friendly staff, excellent food particularly the breakfast, really comfortable room albeit a bit on the warm side. Good range of cask ale, all in good condition. Great location for what we wanted to do.
Nothing
Charming accommodation, pleasant staff.
Very poor food, evening meal and breakfast.
Nice layout and atmosphere
Over priced poor quality food
Thoughtful touches in the room like cookies and pillow spray, and breakfast was cooked to order which was great. Very nice pub stay in the New Forest with easy access to Roydon Wood, would recommend.
For those without a car it is walkable from the train station but not along the main road which doesn't have a pavement
