Everything was brand new spotless luxurious and thoughtful. Yoga every morning by the pool- water aerobics twice per week. Lots of pools & lounge chairs to choose from- none of them crowded. Happy hour at two different pool bars at two different times. Adult- only pool was nice option and water slides were fun. Unlimited pool towels. Anything extra we requested from housekeeping arrived in minutes.
Nothing that we don’t like about the property itself but it wasn’t walkable to any shops or restaurants. However the $2 bus ride took you to all those things. A transportation shuttle would be nice to the excursions that we booked through the concierge as we chose not to rent a car and the Uber fees really piled up.

Location
Stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations Maui Bay Villas and had a mixed experience. The room was spacious and perfect for our family, and the property is beautiful, easy to navigate, with a great pool. Grounds staff were friendly and accommodating. Security was excellent—when we were harassed by two individuals near our patio, they responded quickly and made us feel safe.
Unfortunately, the front desk was disappointing. We were forced to wait until 4 p.m. while others checked in early, with no apology or empathy. As Hilton Honors members, we expected better service but were met with a rude, repetitive response. A “welcome gift” the next day turned into a timeshare pitch, which felt misleading.
We were celebrating my parents’ 50th anniversary, and the poor front desk experience put a damper on our arrival.
Clean and peaceful
The bed was very uncomfortable. We could feel each spring in the mattress. Woke up each morning with a sore back and body.
Lots of points….but for pools that were cold for our 10 day stay…cold NOT swim on any day.. Known problem with pool heating system once I asked… . Go to Kaanapli.. Love that Hilton property. Warm pool. beach front. Great activities. Especially if you have kids/grandkids..don’t go to Maui Bay Villas. But of course.. very nice staff.. Super pushy salesman even though we’re Centum.
Lovely unit. Quiet. No smells. Comfortable bed. Kitchen had most of what we needed and the grocery store is also just down the street. Ample parking. An easy drive to anywhere on the island.
Housekeeping staff was wonderful.
Check out was 10am and they wouldn't budge on that even though we had booked an early morning canoe (7-9:30am) the day of check out.
We were asked repeatedly to attend a time share presentation (called and texted daily).
The best pool (across the street next to the ocean) closes at 5pm, well before sunset.
This resort is very clean and nice! I like how quiet it is and there’s plenty of seating. Yes the biggest storm in 20 years came through but you’d never know it inside the resort. I’m coming back! We have our two older girls with us, 17 and 20 years old. They are enjoying it as well. And it’s close to a lot of good local food.
We booked one night at HGVCMBV in a 2-bedroom suite as a stop gap before our weeklong stay at our long-term accommodations. The suite was wonderful and was appointed with some of the best decor we have ever seen. Everything was beautiful, from the kitchen to the primary bedroom, living room, second bedroom, and the lanai. It was expertly cleaned and I could not find one flaw in the entire place. The windows and doors were so thick that we did not hear any of the construction going on right next door to us. They are currently adding an additional 6 buildings to their existing 5 for a total of 11 (I believe those numbers are correct). They did not pressure us to do any time share meeting and in fact let us know that even after we have to check out, since we were there only one night, that we could hang out there the rest of the day and use their facilities until we could check in at the next place. We ended up not doing that as we had shopping and other places to visit. Since we did not use any of their facilities or even Wi-Fi while we were there, I don't think we should have been charged the $35 resort fee. This fee was added on to our stay at the end. I had already prepaid for everything weeks before. Even with that in mind, we would definitely come back if the price was right. All of the staff we encountered were great.
Stayed Jan 1-5 2026. Great location. Rooms were updated, very clean, very comfortable for a family of 5(parents w/ teenagers) Pool area was great...very large area. Loved the small private beach and club house. Happy hour at the club house was the best!
No beach chairs or umbrellas to borrow.
We just checked out after a wonderful six night stay in a 2/2 room (8211). The condo was extremely comfortable, super clean, large and the kitchen was so convenient. The grounds, although not beach front, were beautiful with the several pools, waterfalls and a terrific gym. Check-in was a breeze with Keahi, who provided us a great corner room and prepared us for the week stay. Keahi was engaging and highly professional. The other front desk staff members, Shanelle and Doreen, were so pleasant and warm, always checking on us. We just loved the texting system where the front desk responds at rocket speed. No request is too much to ask for. We also want to recognize Ronelle for being so alert. After shopping at Costco and unloading at the parking lot, he rushed over to take possession of our groceries and delivered it to our room. That was awesome. Finally, a thanks to Skylar for dropping off additional Lions coffee! All in all, it was such a relaxing and memorable stay. MAHALO.

Nic
Property is nice but… construction still going on, they said 8-5 but was 6:15am-7pm. I am exhausted as every morning I was woken up by people slamming doors at 2, 3am, roosters at 5, construction at 6 and kids running down the hall at 7. Housekeeping was excellent but were at my door by 8:15am! It’s a long walk to the pool and they give you just one towel per adult. I had to beg for one more pool card. Upon arrival, my check-in was smooth but was wrangled by the concierge who would not shut up and kept pushing to schedule a time share review or book something after I said I had all my plans already set. All I wanted to do was get to my room and eat lunch since it was almost 3pm! I would not stay here again while under construction.
Beach club restaurant’s bartender was one of the most sour boring bartender’s I’ve encountered on Maui. I live here and I visit restaurants all over the island and this guy was a joke, zero guest interaction and seemed to hate his job. Bald guy was more interested in the football game on TV. Wake up Hilton and get someone who cares.
This hotel is lovely - the pictures do not do it justice. However, it just didn't check any other boxes for me and was a complete miss. The property is HUGE. I was in building 10 - and they are still expanding. Without any prior notice (as I have received from any other property I have stayed at) - my balcony looked out onto the construction site of the next new building. It was noisy all day long, starting very early. The noise transfer from the floor above me was unlike any hotel I have ever stayed at. The people staying on the floor above were loud - but the construction should have mitigated some of it. They woke me up every night at least once with the worst night, waking me up 4 times (and I called security). I was getting sick upon arrival and needed sleep (which nobody plans on in Hawaii!). There are no carts to put your luggage or groceries on to bring to your unit - you have to call the front desk and wait for someone to drive a golf cart out and assist you. The pool by the ocean (across a busy road) had a hedge all the way around it. Even though the ocean is literally on the other side of the hedge - you cannot see it. There are two gates to get to the path to the very small beach - but they are locked most of the time (still locked at 10:30 AM?). The commissary to purchase small items for use in your unit has very, very few items - the space should really be repurposed. Due to the size of this property - plan on walking - a lot - to get to anything. It is also not in the busy, walkable part of Kihei - you will need a car. This property was a big miss on all fronts for me.
I am writing this review with deep disappointment and concern. During our recent stay at the Hilton Hotel in Maui, my husband was seriously injured when a barbecue grill exploded on the property. This was a terrifying and traumatic experience that no guest should ever have to endure.
What makes this situation even worse is the complete lack of response or accountability from hotel management. Despite multiple attempts to reach out — in person and through follow-up messages — we have not received any communication, apology, or concern from the Hilton staff other then a post-it with a bogus phone number for their liability insurance. The phone number is not in service, there has been crickets from them ever since.
Safety should always be a top priority at a resort of this caliber, yet the condition of the grill and the hotel’s inaction afterward raise major questions about maintenance standards and guest care.
We are deeply shaken by this incident and extremely disappointed by how it has been handled. Until this matter is acknowledged and properly addressed, I cannot in good conscience recommend this property to anyone.
