Insgesamt hat das Hotel unsere Erwartungen leider nicht erfüllt. Das Personal wirkte in vielen Bereichen (Rezeption, Bar und Eingangsbereich) unfreundlich und wenig serviceorientiert. Der Empfangsbereich ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen, wirkt überladen mit alter Dekoration und wenig einladend. Besonders negativ fiel die unterschiedliche Behandlung der Gäste auf: Während Halbpensionsgäste feste Tische im Restaurant erhalten, werden Gäste mit nur Frühstück an Hochtische verwiesen, was den Eindruck einer Zweiklassengesellschaft vermittelt.

Auch im Spa- und Seebereich fehlte es an Service. Es gab keinen Getränkeservice, Müll vom Vortag lag teilweise noch an den Liegen und bei gutem Wetter waren deutlich zu wenige Liegeplätze vorhanden. Dass das Spa-Haus erst um 14:30 Uhr öffnet, ist unverständlich – zumindest die Ruhebereiche und der Außenpool könnten deutlich früher zugänglich sein.

Enttäuschend ist zudem die Darstellung im Internet: Gezeigt werden fast ausschließlich die modernisierten Bereiche, während ein großer Teil der Anlage noch sehr alt und renovierungsbedürftig ist. Insgesamt entsteht der Eindruck, dass es an ausreichend Personal, guter Schulung und einem konsequenten Servicegedanken fehlt.

Amazing spa and staff in this hotel
Pros:

We booked with Inghams and for what we paid we couldn't fault a thing. Here are some pros and cons for anyone booking at full price.
Pros are
This hotel has a truly 5 star plus spa. It really was incredible and surrounded by the mountains you can't fail to truly relax.
The breakfast buffet was stunning. The largest selection of food I've ever seen in a hotel and of a really high quality.
The staff are all lovely and it's clear how hard they all work.
A big thank you to Chris on the bar, what a brilliant barman and all round great guy.
Timea our waitress in the evening restaurant. An amazing waitress and lovely person who helped us in every way possible. She really is so good and would be perfect in management.
Fotis on reception for helping us to change rooms as the one we were given was far too noisy.
Close to the train station and bus stop if you need those and only 15 mins walk to the two cable cars.

Very family friendly

Cons are
Our original room was very noisy as we sided on to the opposite building of St Josef which had a bar downstairs so we were kept awake by people talking till 1am and also the hotels DJ Willie plays every night till 10pm out the front which you hear in the room if you have any window open.
If you are a light sleeper the train beep early morning could wake you too.

Some bedrooms are quite dated and most don't have AC but only a problem in the summer with hot weather. Pay extra for a better room if you want AC and or more peace.

The half board evening menu didn't for us have enough Austrian food. It gives you a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian every night as a main and all are nice but personally I'd rather skip the salad buffet and soup or starter and have more choice of main and always an Austrian one. They did offer me a schnitzel though which was extremely kind.

A few too many children for me. It's a really family friendly hotel if you like that. We went the last 10 days of June and there were so many small children under 5 so the restaurant could be noisy. In the school holidays it would be even worse so bear that in mind if it's important to you.

As a whole though for the deal with Inghams it was amazing. The spa was totally luxurious and Mayrhofen offers a lot of long and short walks.
Prepare to diet when you get home.

The best Hotel in the Zillertal
Pros:

I don't think that there can be a better hotel in the whole Zillertal valley. I just could not fault it. The staff were so friendly and attentive, the facilities were superb, the food just delicious and everywhere was so clean. I can't wait to go back with my friends, I may even take my family but I don't want to spoil them!
