Super clean and comfortable bed.
Just something to be aware of that there is no lift as it is an old special building.
Overall this is a good place to put your head down. The bed is comfortable, there's a small kitchenette and the location is great.
It should be listed as a nice boutique hotel rather than 5 star. There's no lift so you have to carry heavy luggage up a couple of flights of steep stairs which isn't ideal.
Central location.
Carparks nearby.
Gweneth on Reception, approachable, pleasant with a welcoming smile.
The apartment (named Ralph) ie. quality facilities and furnishings, decor.
I found the Glass partitions (either side of the door) as you entered the room a bit odd.
Bathroom very compact with no Extractor fan or window, ie. Have a shower and the mirror is steamed up.
Air-con Unit in bedroom (with intake pipe stuck out the window).
I know this is a matter of opinion.... but for wife and I ....the bed mattress was far too soft, didn't feel supported much.
Awoken around 05:40, 07:05 & 08:55 by numerous (what sounded like various) Waste Collectors , rumbling large wheelie bins, cardboard cages, bottle bins being emptied on the street one floor below our windows.
With hindsight, as we couldn't sleep with the noisy air-con unit on....we could've pulled the pipe in and closed the bedroom window but then it would've gotten too warm in the room.
I'd truly love to stay here again.... because of the staff and the overall facilites/decor.... but sadly/unfortunately... I can't see it happening (any time soon).
Convenient location and beds very comfortable
Great location, would recommend
Very spacious room. Really clean.
View of car park. Lots of noise from outside
Nice decor, nice room and facilities in the room.
The knightsbridge room was unfortunately located on the side of property that looked out onto a car park entrance. The windows did manage to block out a lot of the noise when we stayed in April but in the summer months and no air con in the room i would guess this would be very noisy.
The room was nicely designed and the access on the ground floor was easy with a toddler. It was good to have cooking facilities (more than on pan would be useful), and the apartment was spacious. Hotel lobby is lovely and smells amazing. The hotel is very central to the city amenities.
It’s right under a car park (despite which there is no access from the car park with out a long walk or some very steep steps) and next to a very noisy bar. We stayed a Thursday and Friday night and on the Friday the music and chat went on very late. The windows don’t have proper double glazing and so you could hear everything. Also couldn’t open the window due to the smell of cooking from the a nearby restaurant.
The bed was too soft for our taste (appreciate that is subjective). Also the "refrigerator" is actually a full mini bar. So we had to take everything out as we actually needed a fridge with having a toddler. Not sure the mini bar is actually cold enough to be classed as a fridge either.
Location fantastic, great space with fantastic amenities.
Shower… water went everywhere in the bathroom.
We were upgraded to The Secret Garden suite, the room we had booked was no longer available. It was beautiful and elegant. The bed was very comfortable. Well stocked mini fridge in kitchenette.
Nothing
Location was brilliant.
Lovely clean rooms.
Staff were very welcoming and resolved the issues we had straight away..
Couple of items were not working (mirror light in bathroom and roof window blinds in Polo) when we raised this with the staff we were offered a change of room to Moneypenny. The same mirror fault was also in our replacement room.
Both roms beautiful however not enough wardrobe/cupboard space to put clothing away. Staff should stay in the rooms to iron out these issues.
