Couple on a ski trip.
Pros:

It is a really good hotel for people wanting to go skiing. Very good location, close to rental houses and just a around 5 minutes away walking from the main street. Also, it has really good breakfast and a nice little bar with drinks. The host was really good and make sure we were always comfortable.

Pros:

Great Hotel. Super nice managers. The location is tip top for skiing and they have it arranged next door to store your boots and skis. Parking was full when we were there in a very busy holiday period. We’ll be back to this one.

Thanks again.

Pros:

Right next to the ski lift. However due to close location to lifts, a bit more noisy at night. Room is basic ski room but can't beat it at that price for the location and convenience.

Excellent Location, Lovely Hotel and the Best Staff!
Pros:

We booked our stay in Hotel Gabl as a large group (19) and this where the first of the pleasantries began. I was in touch with Caroline from the Alpeffect offices via email and she helped with every detail of our booking and couldn't have been more helpful.

On arrival both receptionists were super friendly and helped us all get checked in and answered all our questions.

The rooms were ideal for our needs. We had 3 family rooms with each containing two bedrooms and 3 single rooms with one these having the optional 3rd bed. The beds were very comfortable and there was enough closet space for all our ski gear and clothes. The shower and toilet had separate rooms which I thought was a clever idea.

Breakfast was a typical continental style buffet. It had a little bit of everything to suit everyone's needs. Dinner also began with a salat buffet. Once everyone was seated one of the excellent waiters would explain the evening's menu and would efficiently and politely take our orders. There was always options for those in our group that were vegetarian/pescetarian and the food was always delicious!

To use the sauna you just needed to ask a member of staff to turn it on a few minutes beforehand and they would always kindly oblige. The sauna could fit maybe 8/9 at a push but was comfortable with about 4/5 people inside. It was the perfect way to recover from a tough day skiing. The hotel didn't have a boot room but had a deal with the ski rental next door to use their storage free of charge which was just as handy.

All in all, we couldn't have asked for anything more! Great value, great location and the absolute best staff and service!!!

Group of 19 at Hotel Gabl
Pros:

Amazing time at hotel Gabl. The staff were very accomodating and we appreciated their hard work and making our trip unforgettable. Would definitely recommend to groups large or small. Situated right beside the gondola it is the perfect location for groups looking to get plenty of skiing in and be able to ski back to the hotel in the afternoon.

Fantastic stay in St Anton for large ski groups
Pros:

The accomodation was perfect for our ski group. The hotel was situated right beside our ski rental & one of the main gondolas in St Anton for quick ski starts in the morning. The staff were very attentive and helpful at all times. Our breakfast & dinner each night was delicious & top quality.

I would specifically like to shout out the amazing staff Casper, Ellen, Anders & Julie for being fantastic hosts!

Pros:

Location was perfect and staff were very friendly! Facility could use some help. For example, The room temperature was hot and there were no way to adjust it, and the comforter were thick. we would have slept better in cooler temperatures.

Made to feel at home
Pros:

We stayed for a week at Hotel Gabl as an adult family of 4 via Crystal Ski. We were initially greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was able to give us all the info we needed.

Regarding the room, it was ideal for a family of 4 and gave us ample space, particularly given the price. There was a table in the living area we could all fit around in the evening.

The staff were the highlight of the trip. They were so welcoming and friendly throughout. They were always on hand to answer any questions regarding the resort, and their service at dinner time was fantastic. Amelia in particular was the epitomé of an evening host; she was forever cheerful and she had an intimate knowledge of the resort which she was keen to share. I felt like a local with our knowledge by the end of the week!

The food was good throughout the week. If you’re after Michelin star quality, you shan’t receive it here. However, if you’re in need of a tasty and hearty meal at the end of a good day of skiing, this is perfect for you.

In summary, we’d love to return to Hotel Gabl. For the price in particular, the level of service we received was nothing short of exemplary.

Good hotel, great staff and awesome location
Pros:

We spent a week in the hotel with Esprit with the family - 2x 7yr olds. As usual with Esprit the staff were all very good, from the manager of the hotel who was on hand to help anyone who had problems to the childcare staff who were all awesome. The ski lessons were great for all the kids, everyone enjoyed them and the end of week races were really good.

The hotel is a bit of a weird setup, there isn't really a relaxing area, some chairs in the entrance which do the job but not great, the bar is a tiny little room up some steps. The dining room is a bit spread out over a few different rooms although this can be handy if you want a quieter dinner.

Location of the hotel is great. The hire shop is next door and as part of staying in the hotel you get free storage of your skis/snowboard & boots in the shops storage overnight. Once you have your skis the main Nassereinbahn is just a few steps away which get you up the mountain.

We stayed in room 301 on the top floor. It was an OK room. There was not a lot of space around the beds (or no space in the smaller bedroom) and the living room was really just a corridor. The room did have a TV which had BBC1/ITV which was good but because it was on the wall there wasn't any way to watch it easily due too no seating opposite. Was nice to not be overlooked by anyone and waking up to looking out on the mountains

Unfortunately we were in location when the resort started to shut down as part of the coronavirus lockdown. The esprit staff kept up to date as much as they could given the speed that things were changing. Felt very sorry for some of the staff which only had 24h notice that the season was over and they were on the same flight home as us. It was very strange being in resort as stuff was being shut down and getting lunch on the last day became a bit of a struggle.

Excellent location, childcare and food
Pros:

We were in a large family room on top floor, 2 adults, 2 kids. Location less than a minute from the gondola and ski storage in next door shop. Hotel and childcare staff were excellent as was the food (especially afternoon tea, superb cake). Menu adaptable to dietary needs. Kids loved the childcare staff and the ski lessons were enjoyed. Was nervous after previous reviews but had a fantastic week, hotel manager couldn’t have tried harder and has a great team around him.

Cramped uncomfortable rooms, no charm, perfect location
Pros:

The bad:
Bland, barren decor, typical for Esprit, very little creature comforts or Alpine charm.
Family rooms with multiple beds & sleeping areas are very very cramped. Room 301 must be avoided.
Beds, mattresses and pillows are very uncomfortable.
Rooms at the back near the bin areas are noisy.
No kids' games room
No communal living room, only sofas in the entrance foyer.
Very poor value.

The Good:
Excellent service from the Esprit staff (2019-2020 season)
Perfect location right next to Nasserein lift and local ski hire shops.

Excellent hotel - set up brilliant if you have small children.
Pros:

We liked it so much we have booked again for next year with esprit.

Location next to nassarein gondola and bus stop to other resorts like lech is awesome. Our group was 3 adults 1 x 5 yr old 2x 2 year olds. There’s no boot room so to Store equipment it’s a valet service at rental shop attached to hotel for free it’s much easier.

Rooms were clean, comfy well provided for toddlers ( cots, loo steps, baby bath, bed guards, nappy bins). As far as ski chalet rooms go there was decent space. I was in room 208 which was very handy for nursery drop offs/ pick ups.

I was concerned by previous reviews about food and WiFi. The WiFi does need you to keep logging in but it works enough for e mails and to send WhatsApp pictures, just not streaming videos

The food was excellent so they have either acted on previous reviews or they were unfounded. There’s plently of decent wine with your meal too. We went out on chalet night off and spent €100 for 2 people and the food was poor compared to the chalet.

The service staff like Lewis and Alice were outstanding, such lovely young people to be around articulate intelligent and hardworking.

The bar was well run by Joe(?) hes also very articulate, has good knowledge of the resort to assist you and a great sense of humour.

The childcare is good they have a hard job to build relationships with the kids for a keep but they have lots of toys, a small outdoor area, and they took them out to watch the skiers and play in the snow. They have a couple of medical issues conjunctivitis and they worked hard to stop the one case spreading. More seriously a baby stopped breathing for 30 seconds they were great with cpr and the air ambulance was there in 8 minutes.

Having kids tea at 5pm with the childcare staff to help was great then you can do baths / beds before your meal while they offer a baby listening service included in the price. My son wakes frequently so I know it worked well as they always came to get me as I requested. For older kids they have a kids club in the evening while the adults ate which sounded fun.

Second time at this hotel
Pros:

Stayed here 4 years ago. Hotel is clean and comfy but lacks atmosphere. Rooms were nice and spacious but there is not enough drawers and cupboards to hang your clothes up . Be prepared to live out of your suit case. There is only a towel rail to dry wet ski gear on. We had a day of rain and it was difficult to get things dry.

Breakfast was the best meal of the day with plenty to choose from. Afternoon tea was ok but cakes could have been better. Evening meals were disappointing. Choices are limited to a meat/ fish dish or the vegetarian option. Desert was the desert offered or the cheeseboard. Wine was ok.

All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They always looked smart in their uniforms and were always polite.

We had 3 Grand children who skied morning and afternoon and went to the coco club in the evening. They had a wonderful holiday and loved the ski lessons . They all improved over the week and were skiing the black runs.

We have been on 7 holidays with Esprit but this was our last one as our Grandchildren are at an ability to ski with us all day. They are a great company if you are looking for fantastic child care and skiing.

Great location and efficiently run
Pros:

We booked with esprit and stayed at the hotel during half term week. We expected it to be chaotic being the busiest week of the season but were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything ran! Flights and transfers were all efficient and on time, we checked into our room (103) quickly while our son had an early tea as he was pretty hungry after travelling.
The hotel is comfortable and warm, the room was a decent enough size for 3 of us with enough storage, and a good shower always with plenty of hot water.
Breakfast and afternoon tea were great and always well stocked. Evening meals were mostly ok, and the wine was pretty good.
Staff are all very friendly and efficient, and were glad to help and accommodate when our son wanted to join adult mealtimes but with the kids food choices.(this is fine for kids 11+)
The location of the hotel is very convenient next to the ski hire shop, jennewein, where the staff are really helpful and the gondola is right next to the shop.
As other reviews point out, the WiFi is pretty terrible and so it's best not to bring anything that relies on WiFi. The manageress did help with connecting to it several times but the signal just seems to be too weak.
Overall great holiday, lovely hotel and well run with great staff.
St Anton has a good variety of runs linking with other resorts, but by early afternoon the steeper sections on the blues have huge lumps and bumps so best to get out early if you can!

Great location, ok accommodation, mediocre food, great child care
Pros:

We stayed in the Pepi Gabl for a week with Ski Esprit. The accommodation was ok, the rooms we a responsible size the only issue we had was that the floors weren't cleaned during the week and with a 2 year old the floors became very dirty. The food was mediocre it was edible but that was about it. The location was excellent right next to the Gondola with the skis stored in the ski hire shop you could pick up your skis and get straight in the lift queue. The childcare was excellent they have an onsite nursery and we were impressed how they looked after out 2 year old, he seemed more happy than in his nursery at home. One thing that was really annoying was that the wifi was not reliable you had to keep re-entering the access code and at times it just didn't work at all.

Great hotel
Pros:

Stayed a week with Esprit and could have no complaints at all. Great child care, lovely suite and excellent food (not always a given with esprit). Eldest daughter wants to go back there asap. Ski hire so easy, chair lift right there - can a bit noisy at the front of the hotel at night but hey - its st anton! We will be back.

Ski Trip
Pros:

Excellent ski trip at Pepi thanks to hard working team at Esprit. Childcare cannot be faulted. Chalet is very convenient. Only grumble is that ski hire shop had closed by the time we arrived after 6pm making it a scramble in the morning so make sure your flight gets you there early.
