Minus the initial poor room assignment and AC issues, overall we had a pleasant stay.
Pros:

All staff were excellent! Helpful, polite, and friendly. Breakfast was good and location was convenient.

Cons:

In my reservation, I requested a room away from elevator, on an upper floor with view of cathedral and pool. Instead, we were assigned a room just across from housekeeping and the view was a brick wall - literally no view at all. Also, the noise from room directly above us in 419 was extrememly disturbing (sounded like furniture being slammed against a wall, pounding on floor) for hours. It began before we even went to bed and woke us up several times. We thought it was just a one off wild guest, but it continued the next day so we requested a move to a higher floor with a view of the cathedral, per my original request. Front desk staff was apologetic and happy to oblige. He was kind and courteous and we appreciated his assistance. Also, the AC was having intermittent issues, making loud noise and not cooling at times. The lobby and lounge was also having AC problems and they were working on it for multiple days.

Glad to leave what I've been told is, "America's dumbest city, Tucson!"
Pros:

Location was okay. My thing is service. They ran me around before they offered to print out my boarding pass. They stood there being cool. No, wasn't demanding, a Karen. Do people really bring their personal agenda into the work place? Isn't that actionable? Doesn't a toxic environment destroy a good atmosphere?

Cons:

When they did finally print out my boarding pass, the person behind the counter, young man with a mustache, stood there and held my pass, trying to decide if he was going to give it to me. I had to ask him for it. He smirked the entire time. No, I've never stayed there or know anyone there. I pretend to know something about someone, five minutes after I've met them. If I had to , just by behavior alone. Education is the central issue.

Beautiful hotel!
Pros:

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful! We stayed in a room where we had access to the courtyard with the pool and it was fantastic! We had a patio with chairs and a table. We loved the grounds!
The breakfast was good. It wasn't a buffet... it was to-order with wait-staff and all. It was pretty good. No change in the menu from day-to-day.

Cons:

The only issue was that the bathroom was quite small and the water pressure in the shower left something to be desired. Overall, a great stay!

Excellent choice for downtown Tucson
Pros:

Excellent hotel close to transit centers, post office, restaurants, museums and shops; exceptionally clean, offering robust breakfast selection, and friendly staff. My room was large, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was spacious, too, and very clean. The pool and terrace overlooking the cathedral were fantastic. There is a small shop for basic toiletries and snacks and ample lounge seating. I was satisfied with my stay and warmly recommend Hampton Inn.

Great stay. I would come back.
Pros:

The staff was friendly.
Amanda, who is one of the staff, did a fantastic job keeping the dining area really clean. She showed, by the way she was cleaning, that she cares.
The room was clean; easy parking; breakfast was good...

Pros:

I like that is was close to the University of Arizona, where my son is staying and downtown activities. Love the balcony area with the pool.
