Gardenia Springs - La Finca Buritaca

The location was great, service was very professional and we had no issues overall. The food is outstanding and prices are fair. We had maybe two points to improve: 1. WiFi was not consistently working, since it works with satellites and the weather can affect the service. 2. Our room was located near the main reception and there was plenty of noise coming from the staff during the mornings.

I love this place, I’d recommend it for everyone who loves living near nature but still wants the amenities available in a hotel. Most people in the staff are very kind and helpful.

The rooms in the bungalows are very nice with very comfortable beds, every morning you’ll wake up to the sound of all kinds of birds. It's very relaxing.

The breakfast is a bit limited but very good. The pool is beautiful. The rest of the hotel area is like a farm with many types of animals both tame and wild.

However, I’d not recommend this place for people afraid of insects and lizards. They will enter the room. :)

I'd like to make it a 5 star review, but unfortunately the hotel has its flaws, especially the bathroom which actually looks very nice visually, but practically it’s bad in many ways which can cause irritation.

Also bad WiFi, it's too weak by the bungalows so you'll need to go to the reception by the pool to use the internet.

Poorly isolated walls, so if there's another guest living in the bungalow by the other side of he wall you'll hear them too well.

But in the end it's a lovely place to spend vacations, located near Playa Buritaca which has the sea on one side and the river on the other side, so you can choose where you prefer to swim.

Once again just the perfect place and what an awesome staff, grounds, food, etc etc !!!!

Absolutely the greatest little hidden gem in all of Northern Colombia !!! The grounds, the staff, the food, the accommodations !!!! Everything is just perfect !!!

Obiekt z dużym potencjałem, przepiękny ogród, oczka wodne, basen , lokalizacja na uboczu- idealna atmosfera żeby odpocząć. Trzeba brać pod uwage ze hotel znajduje się naprawdę w odosobnieniu- nad morze, do sklepu itp można dojść spacerem ale po zachodzie słońca jest bardzo ciemno. Taksówki w tej okolicy są tylko prywatne, więc jest to duży koszt, ale funkcjonuje autobus na trasie Santa Marta- palomino. Co było na minus to ceny w hotelu - woda 2.5 USD to duża przesada i powoduje niesmak i poczucie chęci “zdarcia” z gościa jak największej ilości pieniędzy mimo ze sam pobyt już nie był tani. w hotelowej restauracji ceny też powyżej przeciętnej, jedzenie dobre. Do naszego domku hotel nie miał zapasowego klucza, bo został zgubiony przez poprzednich gości i czekali na dorobienie, przez co przez cały pobyt nie mieliśmy serwisu sprzątania i gdyby nie to, że przypadkowo zatrzasnęliśmy klucz w pokoju i obsługa musiała siłą otwierać drzwi, bo nie mieli zapasowego klucza- nawet byśmy nie wiedzieli czemu nie ma tego sprzątania. Nikt nam nie powiedział że jest taka sytuacja. Zgadzam się też z opiniami poprzedników co do “małego zoo” - warunki życia zwierząt są naprawdę niepokojące.

Just an absolute little hidden gem !!!! Staff was unbelievably awesome and attentive ........... the scenery and grounds were impeccable !!! I can never say enough about this property !!

The common areas were wonderful but our rooms were worn down, dirty throw pillows, scuffs all over bedroom walls, etc. Would have appreciated a cleaner experience.

Very friendly staff and place is beautiful. It is close to various spots with beautiful nature. Cons: restaurant is overpriced, and be prepared to pay huge taxes on top of what you think you are going to pay. If you are Colombian and you book online, they will tell you that you need to pay a national tax. In my case, it was about 170 USD for a 4 day stay. If you have a foreign passport, male sure to bring it so you get exempt for paying this tax.

This is a special property with AMAZING staff. Raul and Orlando went above and beyond to make our staff so memorable. Truly one of the most magical places we have ever stayed. Tuki the Toucan is a must to say hi!
