We stayed here for three nights in June 2026.
This is a very nice hotel is a good location a short distance from the main section of the old town. You are close by to shops and restaurants and several bus stops used by the Fly Bus and tour companies for pick up and drop off.
We had a nice size room with a comfortable bed and good size bathroom. Ours had an open shower so the floor would get a little wet and slippery beyond the shower area. One nit pick: The towels were a little bit "industrial strength" and kind of rough against my tender and delicate skin.
Breakfast was included and was a pretty standard european breakfast which was just fine.
We opted for daily housekeeping and there was no charge for that. Our room was very clean and in good condition. Television was fine if you like the BBC. There was also a channel showing "Hallmark" movies that my wife enjoys.
One small service nitpick. Our departure was on June 17, a National Holiday and the street in front of the hotel was to be blocked off for a parade. So our Fly Bus was not able to pick us up at the designated stop. We asked the woman at the front desk to help us get a taxi for four people and luggage, but she insisted that the taxis would not come to the hotel. At this time, there was still traffic allowed in one direction and it probably was possible to pick us up nearby, if not in front of the hotel. But rather than make a call, she argued that they would not come. So we walked with baggage for 20 minutes to the main bus terminal. Could have humored me by just picking up the phone.
Beautiful, well-located hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast buffet. Excellent dinner experience as well. Will definitely stay at Hotel Saga when next in Reykjavik.
The location was excellent, breakfast was very good. Bartender was a great employee.
No shower doors, repair request on a towel heater was never addressed, requested 3 rooms close together due to having children in different rooms and we were split into different buildings.
Location
A little noisy up to around 11pm due to people in nearby square
Excellent location
Be very careful what room you receive. We booked a deluxe room (highest level) and received a room with only one small window (vs the standard one large and one small), which looked into the wall of a building. The only other option was a ground floor room in full view of the street. And we were neither a last-minute booking or a late arrival. The hotel staff is extremely rude and simply says too bad. They even pretend that this is a nice room. The hotel has a great location and the rooms are typical Iceland style, but I've never seen such a rude management team.
What's Great: location with access to all the Reykjavik has to offer (which is a lot). Excellent included breakfast, good restaurant, good wifi, very good shower,
What's Not so Great: tiny rooms (some with room for one small luggage), soft bed, staff (some front desk) attitude of "just say no," no hooks in bathroom for robe or dopp kits, our 3 rooms had no views, some soundproofing issue (could hear conversations in other rooms through bathroom vents), and NO PLACE FOR EARLY ARRIVERS TO WAIT FOR ROOM (MANY OTHER GUESTS WERE SLEEPING IN RECEPTION HALLWAY WHICH IS NOT A 4/5 STAR PRESENTATION. OTHER HOTELS WE STAYED AT HAD A SEPARATE ROOM FOR RELAXING OUT OF PUBLIC VIEW.
All in all not a terrible hotel but I have a feeling there are better choices with staff that say "yes" to requests.
This is a beautiful hotel in a central location. Staff is warm and helpful. Rooms were elegant and comfortable. Decor was artful and cozy.
Best of all- the food! We ate the hotel breakfast every day and had dinner twice. Excellent wines. Beautiful presentation. Definitely get the strawberry dessert.
When we return to Reykjavík (and we will), it will be to Hotel Saga.
BTW, we parked our rented car in the neighborhood across the street from the hotel. Easy.
Nothing.
위치는 호수 바로 앞이라 완전 최고는 아니지만 아주 좋음. Street parking 을 해야하는데 길 건너편에 주차해야 쌈
주차, 가격

Le restaurant et le petit déjeuner excellents
Le manque de piscine
Location is perfect, warm, welcoming front desk staff especially Helina and Nicholas!
