North Beach Hotel is a gem of a hotel steps from the beach
Pros:

North Beach Hotel is an amazing property run by incredibly good people. This 1900s home turned, hotel, is steps from the boardwalk and beach and you have clear ocean views from the expansive front porch. John, the owner, is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I had dropped my daughter at camp in Princeton and let John know that I’d be arriving early. When I arrived, my key was waiting for me and my room was immaculate. My room had a good sized refrigerator, cook top, and sink. It was well stocked with everything I needed.

I spent 3 lovely days on the beach, on the porch, or sleeping soundly in the very comfortable bed. The hotel was full, but you don’t hear other guests from your room. John also owns the cafe/restaurant that is diagonally across from the hotel, which I can’t recommend enough. Their ice tea was some of the best I’ve ever had, and I live in the south! Also make sure to try the black cherry water ice. It was my favorite. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to meet Al, John’s handyman/friend. He has great stories to share and is a really nice guy to share some porch time with.

I found NBH on a whim the night before I dropped my daughter at camp when I decided to take a few days all by myself. I had never been to the Jersey Shore before and had no idea what to expect. The town was reminiscent of an old beach town I had spent summers at as a child and has not been ruined by the massive development seen in places like Atlantic Beach. NBH was a gem of a place and I did not want to leave on departure day! If you’re looking for a quiet beachfront escape that won’t break the bank, do not hesitate to book the North Beach Hotel. It’s truly a treasure.

Cute, close to ocean

Cons:

We didn’t actually stay. My husband saw the room and how tiny the bathroom was and he decided we would just go home. If all you needed was a clean, safe room for the night, it’s great. I explained this to him before booking but he gets chlostrphopic .

IT WAS CLEAN ,CLOSE TO BEACH ,CLOSE TO AC BUT NO CHAOS....Room was a good size ...Owner & staff very good helpful The lil shop at the corner has breakfast, lunch, & fast dinner & THEE BEST HOMEMADE ICECREAM YOULL EVER HAVE & THE STAFF THERE IS ALSO FRIENDLY & HELPFUL . VERY HOMEY FEELING ... THE PICTURES ARE TAKING ON BEACH 30 FEET FROM HOUSE ...THATS HOW CLOSE JUST BEAUTIFUL & RELAXING...MY NEW HAPPY PLACE

L'emplacement proche de la mer et la maison vintage.
Le propriétaire même si on l'a à peine croisé est très accueillant.

Cons:

Salle de bain étriquée et pas d'armoire.
Un peu juste si on envisage un long séjour.

We loved the location. Close to the ocean and places to eat. We loved the porch. You can see the ocean from the porch.

Cons:

I think that I would add a console or entry way table in the living room (room #1) by the door or near the bathroom so there is a place to place keys and purse etc. If using the wall next to the door under the television, I would move the chair and ottoman to face television; next to the couch. You will have to move the lamp and perhaps get one that attaches to the wall as there is no room for a side table. Or you could get a very narrow console table and place against the wall behind the couch and place a lamp on it!). I like the blinds that can lower at the top of the windows.. I wish these blinds had been in the living room, as well.

Took my wife to the beach for her birthday sort of last minute, and was totally disappointed.

Cons:

The room had no kitchen, and the bathroom was incredibly small. Could not face the mirror while at the sink. Shower less than 3' by 3' - hard to wash completely. No one met us, gave any sort of instructions on check-in. No service (cleaning) while staying there. Close to the beach as promised - no parking. As we left, an employee (said he was) answered a question about cleaning, but otherwise did not hear from anyone at the hotel. The access to the beach was close as advertised, but no info on getting beach passes. No coffee pot, limited toiletries. The TV apps did not work properly - the signal was lost several times, and I could not finish one movie over two nights. We have little "beach" rental experience, so no idea how this compares to other local hotels, but we will not go back of recommend it.

Bathroom especially the shower was way too small trying to get in. Basically did not shower for part of the time.

Would indicate or show picture of bathroom for the future. However, would stay there again just a different room.
