Traum der Träume, mit kleinen Schwachstellen
Pros:

Es ist einfach traumhaft – sowohl das Zimmer als auch die Lage. Schon bei der Ankunft mit dem kostenlosen Shuttle-Boot fühlt man sich ein bisschen wie James Bond.

Wir hatten ein wunderschönes Zimmer mit direktem Blick auf den Philae-Tempel – wirklich etwas Besonderes. Ein großer Pluspunkt ist außerdem, dass man das Essen im Restaurant bestellen und direkt aufs Zimmer bringen lassen kann. Gerade am Abend ist das herrlich: Durch das sehr trockene Klima wird es nach Sonnenuntergang angenehm frisch und man kann die Ruhe und die Aussicht richtig genießen.

Auch der Espresso hat uns positiv überrascht. Für ägyptische Verhältnisse ist er wirklich sehr gut – und das sage ich als echter Espresso-Liebhaber.

Cons:

Es gibt allerdings einige Punkte, die ich bei einem Hotel dieser Kategorie nicht ganz nachvollziehen kann. Möglicherweise hängen sie damit zusammen, dass sich das Hotel derzeit noch im Ausbau befindet.

Die Preise für das Essen sind teilweise deutlich zu hoch – zum Teil etwa viermal so hoch wie in sehr guten Restaurants anderswo. Wäre die Qualität entsprechend außergewöhnlich, könnte ich das durchaus akzeptieren. Leider ist sie das aus meiner Sicht nicht. Etwas verwirrend ist außerdem, dass die Preise auf der Speisekarte teilweise in ägyptischen Pfund und teilweise in US-Dollar angegeben werden.

Mein Eindruck ist, dass das Management an einigen Stellen noch die Erfahrung sammeln muss, die notwendig ist, um ein Hotel in diesem gehobenen Preissegment wirklich auf höchstem Niveau zu führen. Andere Hotels in Ägypten machen das derzeit deutlich besser.

Die Mitarbeiter selbst sind – wie wir es in Ägypten häufig erlebt haben – sehr freundlich und wirklich bemüht, dass es den Gästen gut geht. Mit etwas zusätzlicher Schulung und Feinschliff im Service könnte BenBen jedoch tatsächlich zu dem Traumhotel werden, das es aufgrund seiner außergewöhnlichen Lage und Atmosphäre eigentlich schon heute sein könnte.

Une très belle parenthèse gâchée par une politique d'excursions aux prix abusifs
Pros:

​Séjour globalement très positif sur le plan du cadre et du service, mais un bémol majeur et rédhibitoire concernant la politique tarifaire des activités.

​Les points forts :

​Le cadre : L'hôtel est absolument magnifique, situé sur une petite île paisible, idéal pour se détendre.

​Le personnel : Un service irréprochable, avec un personnel d'une grande gentillesse et aux petits soins.

​La restauration : Le restaurant de l'hôtel est de très bonne qualité.

Cons:

Le gros point noir : Les prix exorbitants des activités et des transferts
C’est le véritable problème de cet établissement. L'hôtel étant situé sur une île, vous êtes "captifs" : si la navette pour arriver au quai principal est gratuite, chaque trajet supplémentaire en bateau est facturé au minimum 30 € par trajet.

​Plus grave encore, les tarifs pratiqués pour les excursions proposées par l'hôtel frisent l'indécence. Il n'y a littéralement aucune activité à moins de 100 €.

​Exemple concret : On nous a proposé une excursion pour le jardin botanique à 120 €, puis "bradée" à 95 € (transport et tickets inclus). En nous débrouillant par nous-mêmes (en prenant un taxi local et les billets en autonomie), cela nous est revenu à 1 000 EGP, soit environ 20 € pour deux.

​L'hôtel se retranche derrière l'argument de la sécurité pour justifier ces marges, mais multiplier les prix par quatre ou cinq pour des prestations locales reste injustifiable. C'est dommage car cela laisse une impression de "vache à lait" qui gâche un peu l'expérience.

​Conseil aux futurs voyageurs : Profitez du cadre et de la beauté des lieux, mais organisez vos sorties et transports par vos propres moyens dès que vous quittez l'île.

We had a wonderful stay at BenBen! The staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel so well taken care of. The spa and massages were amazing, and the food was delicious. We truly had a fantastic time and would love to come back!

L’emplacement exceptionnel, la gentillesse du personnel, la qualité du service de manière générale et en particulier au restaurant (préparation de pique-nique pour nos excursions), la piscine rafraîchissante, l’architecture de l’hôtel

Cons:

Nous avons tout aimé, toutefois nous suggérons 2 axes d’amélioration : améliorer le quai d’accueil du bateau qui fait la liaison Assouan/ hôtel, s’assurer que le personnel de réception maîtrise un anglais suffisant pour pouvoir répondre aux questions basiques des clients . Mais cela ne nous a pas empêché de passer un séjour inoubliable, le personnel y ayant grandement contribué

Tuvimos una habitación muy especial, así que sin duda las vistas y la piscina de la habitación fue lo que más me gustó. Pero el desayuno, la cena en el restaurante y la atención de todo el personal fue maravillosa, estuvieron en todo momento pendientes de que no nos faltase nada.

Cons:

No puedo puntuar nada de forma negativa, pero si tengo que hacer un comentario de forma constructiva, sería más sombra en la piscina principal, apenas había sombrillas para poder disfrutar en la zona de la piscina principal.

Pros:

The hotel is in an extraordinary location between the upper and lower barrages and has an amazing view of Philae temple. It means you have to take a small shuttle boat to go anywhere but that was part of the charm, was easy to organise and taxis know where to drop you off and pick you up. It also means its very quiet. The infinity pool is beautiful and friends we were with also enjoyed the spa treatments.
The on site restaurant and bar is very good and reasonably priced and the hotel will organise a breakfast box if you are leaving early for a trip or for an early flight.
