A very comfortable, well designed, modern hotel
Pros:

Great hotel. We loved our generously sized rooms. Loved the free hot drinks in the lovely cafe.

A modern, well maintained hotel with cheery and professional staff.
Pros:

The room was extremely quiet, with a very comfortable bed and excellent curtains which meant that the room did not get light too early in the morning.

Cons:

The bar / dining area was a bit on the small side.

Tolles Boutique Hotel in sehr guter Lage zur Innenstadt

Die Lage ist optimal, in einer ruhigen Strasse in der Nähe der Innenstadt, alles ist fussläufig zu erreichen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Essen im dazugehörigen Bistro sehr gut. Ein Zugang zu einem in der direkten Nachbarschaft liegendem Fitness Studio wird ermöglicht.

Modern hotel, fantastic bar/cafe, good sized rooms!
Pros:

Great cafe and doesn’t take long in the lift, as only a few floors. Modern design, very clean and comfortable bed. Great blockout curtains! Also have windows you can open for fresh air!

Cons:

Aircon is only a split system, but still works pretty well. Our room wasn’t serviced after our first night, but unsure of whether it was supposed to be!?

Ho scelto l’hotel Mayfair a Christchurch poiché non c’era di meglio in questa città, ed ero quindi consapevole di prenotare una struttura diversa da quelle che solitamente frequento. Si tratta di un hotel molto piccolo, quasi al livello di una piccola pensione: semplice, senza particolari pretese, privo di servizi come concierge, piscina, spa, centro benessere o lounge. È presente solo un piccolissimo bar-ristorante annesso, il Majestic, più che altro un punto di appoggio che tende a riempirsi facilmente, rendendo l’ambiente piuttosto rumoroso.
All’arrivo mi aspettavo una minima accoglienza, magari qualcuno che aiutasse con i bagagli, ma ho dovuto arrangiarmi da solo. La hall è molto ridotta, tuttavia la receptionist si è dimostrata gentile, cordiale ed efficiente: check-in rapido e consegna immediata della chiave magnetica.
La camera al quinto piano è risultata nel complesso piacevole: semplice ma curata, con un bagno ampio dotato di una grande doccia, un angolo cucina ben fornito e un piccolo terrazzino che valorizza lo spazio. L’arredamento è essenziale, coerente con lo stile minimalista dell’hotel, che risulta comunque recente e ben tenuto. Una nota positiva è il set di cortesia Byredo (gel doccia, shampoo, ecc.), un dettaglio inatteso e di qualità che aggiunge valore alla permanenza.
Ho riscontrato qualche inconveniente: la tenda oscurante non copriva completamente la finestra, costringendomi a svegliarmi molto presto, intorno alle sei del mattino, con le prime luci dell’alba. Il letto è comodo, ma l’insonorizzazione della camera è insufficiente: i rumori delle camere vicine, in particolare la chiusura delle porte e le urla di un bambino, erano chiaramente percepibili. Per dormire ho dovuto ricorrere a tappi per le orecchie e a una mascherina per la luce.
Un altro aspetto che lascia perplessi riguarda la gestione del check-out.

Comfortable overnight stay
Pros:

The furnishings were sturdy and comfortable. Staff welcoming and friendly, providing us with the requested quiet room on a high floor. Location not too far to walk to the busy Cuba Street with lots of lovely eateries.

Modern, clean, spacious stay.
Pros:

Really excellent modern hotel in the heart of Christchurch. If you're looking for spacious, modern and clean rooms with an excellent lobby restaurant, this is your hotel. Super surprised by the quality of the restaurant in the lobby, truly excellent food and coffee and even better service.

Cons:

Parking wasn't complimentary but thats minor.
