Lovely relaxing holiday, no loud entertainment by the pool in daytime just nice chilling music. Fantastic staff really friendly. No lager louts or trouble causes. Nice quiet location, short walk to lovely beaches. Only about 20 minutes walk into salou centre. Local shop 5 minutes walk. Nice clean spacious rooms. Two double beds in room, fantastic friendly cleaners. Good selection of beers. The meals were fantastic, plenty of choice for everyone, oh and the home made pizzas are to die for, they are gorgeous. I cannot fault this hotel at all. Would highly recommend for a relaxing holiday. And if you don’t want to walk to Salou town the bus is just up top of road and only costs a few euros.
Free WiFi. I cannot praise this hotel enough. In my opinion it should be 5 star hotel not 4. Loved every minute there
Very friendly personel, and generous about small things. I was tired and made many mistakes, but they did not make it a problem, that one beach towel was forgotten at the pool and lost (I did not have to pay the penalty), and also the fact that I needed to come to the same dinner twice, because one child was late.
Excellent food (we had breakfast and dinner).
Beautiful nature, small remote beaches surrounded by red rocks, a pine forrest to the north, mediterranean village to the east, birds singing, little lizards on the rocks, beautiful window view.
Terrible terrible NOISE at night !!! I chose this hotel believing it would be a quiet place (some reviews said so). Unfortunately, since cca 9:30 till 11:00, there was a noisy oldies disco, with sound apparatus outdoor at the pool, under our windows. Why couldn't the disco be confined to the bar only ?!! On some nights, there was almost nobody at the pool, but the DJs still transmitted this noise outdoors. The noise was intense even with the closed balcony door. We had to turn on air condition on balmy nights, not because we needed cooling, but just to have some "white noise" to filter out the disco music. I still needed earplugs even after all these precautions, but my children do not tolerate earplugs and could not sleep well.
I came to complain at the reception, but talking with the reception lady was basically impossible due to the noise. Also, some new quests just arrived, and she needed to SHOUT instructions at them. I also went to complain directly to the bar but was not successful. (But at this point, I was also very angry and not on my best behaviour. The inability to speak in the noise did not help.)
Smaller issues:
The two queen beds do not offer comfortably enough space for 4 people. The Mediterranean habit of one sheet plus one blanket per two people is also not comfortable. (However, we eventually had enough blankets, because we booked an extra room for unrelated reasons.)
My 11 year old daughter was embarassed to have fun at the pool, because nobody else was swimming in it and people were very quiet. We went to the pool of the neighbor hotel Best Negresco, which looked more like a place for kids.
The hotel is technically at the sea front, but the nearest beach is not for swimming, it is just "panoramatic".
The beaches nearby had to be accessed by climbing down steep stairs or rocks, which is romantic and "rugged" for young people like me and my kids, but dangerous for my elderly mother.
We are currently in our second week of our holiday.
I will summarise my experience so far.
Pros
Quiet hotel close to some lovely quiet beaches away from the hustle and bustle of the main area of Salou
25 minute walk to Salou if you feel the need to go there
Rooms are kept clean however paper cups aren’t the best as said by previous reviews.
Food in buffet on half board is repetitive but we have managed to find something most days to eat. Most of the staff are happy and helpful
Cons
Now this is my biggest gripe
The pool area. Whilst it’s small we have managed to get a sun lounger every day however the cleanliness is not great.
The floors are spot cleaned in the morning for the bird poo with a mop and bucket. The glass screens have been cleaned once since we have been here.
The floors are sticky, gritty and drink stained The tables are rarely cleaned and I’ve yet to see the sun loungers cleaned .
Such a shame as it lets the rest of the hotel down.
I would have given this hotel a 5 star had it not been for the pool area.
Can’t fault the hotel at all it was really nice and it was spotless everywhere all the staff were really nice the rooms were big with 2 double beds big balcony a nice sea view there was a fridge and kettle air con was good and had a lovely bathroom we went A/C the drinks were really good some were branded ones if your drink isent on the AC menu you only have to pay 1 to 4 euros depending on which drink you want now the food this is where they need to improve it was always cold so we needed to warm it up in the microwave also not a lot of choice but that’s just my opinion I’ve been to other 4 star hotels where there’s a lot more choice but I must say the food we had was nice the desserts were pretty much the same each night saying that we had a really nice stay at this hotel and really enjoyed it it’s a quiet peaceful hotel but there’s buses at the top of the incline to take you to various places there’s a nice bar there aswell sells food and lots of different drinks and then further on than that you come to cap salou with a few bars and shops it was only 2.05 euros for the 10 minute bus ride into salou there’s a nice beach near by just a stroll through the park across the road 10 euros for a sunbed and 5 euros for a sun umberella there’s a beach bar which we thought was a bit pricey food wise we all had a really nice holiday if you want somewhere quiet and peaceful then this is the place
We had a short 4 night stay at the Punta Dorada and we were very happy with the service on reception, nothing was too much trouble, the housekeeping team keep the rooms spotless, the food wasn't always to our taste even though there is always plenty of choice, the restaurant is also down in the basement which doesn't create much ambiance. Cap salou is a nice quiet area ideal for couples but not lively enough for families, there's a nice walk along side the beach but quite steep to get down to the beach, we had a run on the little tourist train in to salou itself but didn't stay there long as it was too hectic
Nos encanto la ubicación. La habitación tenia vistas al mar, maravillosas. El personal muy amable. Fui con mi madre de 90 años, el trato exquisito. Vovere sin duda.
Ubicacion perfecta y personal tambien
This is a lovely clean and friendly hotel.
The rooms are comfortable with good clean fresh linen and towels.
The restaurant is bright clean and airy serving a good selection of foods and drinks, with friendly staff.
The pool area is nice with plenty of beds and umbrellas should you need one.
The bar area has lovely staff all of them were friendly and provided a quick service with a smile.
We did try to book another visit before we even left but it was all booked for this season.
The beach is local and within 10mins walking distance you can get sunbed and umbrellas on a lovely sandy beach.
A beautiful resort well worth a visit

We stayed here for 4 nights and overall had a really lovely experience. The standout feature of this hotel is definitely the staff — every single person we interacted with was genuinely welcoming, kind and friendly. It was noticeably better service than we’ve experienced at many other hotels and made a big difference to our stay.
The hotel itself is smaller than we expected, but honestly that worked in its favour. The pool area and buffet never felt overcrowded, and the whole atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed throughout our stay. The location is also beautiful if you want somewhere quiet and calm. There aren’t lots of shops, bars or tourist strips nearby — just a small shop opposite selling clothes, toiletries and a few essentials. The beach is only around a 5-minute walk away and was one of our favourite parts of the holiday: soft sand, clear shallow water, no sellers, no rows of sunbeds, and it felt very natural and untouched.
Our room was comfortable overall. The beds were excellent, the air conditioning worked very well, and the TV was modern enough that we could screen share from a Samsung phone and watch downloaded shows, which was a nice bonus. The free WiFi throughout the hotel was also probably the best we’ve had abroad — very fast and reliable everywhere. A safe was also provided free of charge, which was appreciated.
The pool itself is on the smaller side but very clean, modern and well maintained. There’s also a tiny separate children’s pool for toddlers. Pool towels were available with a €10 deposit each. The bar drinks were great value and genuinely good quality — beers were around €3 and cocktails around €7.50 and definitely not watered down. Staff were also always happy to provide free filtered tap water and refill bottles. The cabanas around the pool were also worth it at €10 per day, especially as they included two drinks.
The food was decent overall, although a little repetitive even during a 4-night stay. Some evenings were much better than others. The buffet is relatively small, but there was still a reasonable amount of choice including pizza, pasta, burgers cooked fresh in front of you, freshly cooked fish and meat, soups, salad, bread, rice, potatoes and various hot dishes. The stir fry chef in particular was excellent — really tasty food and huge portions. One downside was that most buffet items that weren’t freshly cooked tended to be only lukewarm or sometimes cold.
I’m pescatarian and dairy free, so I paid particular attention to allergen options. There aren’t allergen labels on the dishes, although there is a sign encouraging guests to speak to staff, who were helpful when asked. I think vegetarians would manage fairly easily, but vegans may struggle a bit more for protein options. Breakfast did include dairy-free milks (soya, almond and oat) and Alpro soya yoghurt was available on request, which was appreciated. The fruit at breakfast and dinner was also consistently excellent.
The pool snack bar was probably the weakest area for dietary variety. There were only a few options for vegetarian/vegan/dairy-free guests. I ended up having the tuna baguette twice, which was nice. Vegetarian choices were more limited to things like margarita pizza, egg sandwiches, cheese toasties and chips.
We stayed in room 2002, which had pros and cons. The location was convenient because we could walk straight out into the pool/bar area without needing stairs or lifts. However, the room did feel slightly dated in places and probably due for renovation soon. We also had a few ants and flies come into the room during our stay, and there was bird mess on the balcony initially (although housekeeping cleaned this after a few days). Small detail, but proper mugs instead of paper cups for tea/coffee would also have been nicer.
The room included shampoo and shower gel, although no hair conditioner was provided. Although we could slightly see the sea from the room, the view was mostly blocked by trees — though we hadn’t paid for a sea view, so that felt fair enough. The entertainment in the evenings was fairly loud between around 9:30pm–11pm and could be heard clearly from the room, especially in the bathroom. We personally enjoyed hearing it, but it may not suit families with very young children trying to sleep early. Soundproofing generally wasn’t great either, as we could hear furniture scraping and doors banging from nearby rooms quite often.
One thing we really appreciated was the availability of showers in reception for guests leaving later in the day after check-out. They were very clean and useful before travelling home, although they only provided shower gel and not shampoo or conditioner.
A couple of practical notes for anyone travelling here:
* Taxi from Reus Airport to the hotel was around €45
* Taxi to/from PortAventura was around €15 each way
Overall though, we really enjoyed our stay. The peaceful atmosphere, lovely staff, clean facilities and beautiful beach nearby made this a hotel we would happily return to for another short break.
El personal es maravilloso, el hotel súper cómodo, limpieza y muy agradable
El acceso a la playa no es cómodo y creía que estaba más a pie de playa
Personal
Habitaciones muy básicas, no son lomqie parecen en las fotos
