Arrived at hotel and was given the wrong room as we had paid for a sea view room, and our room faced a garden and wall, there was no water pressure in the taps,we asked to be moved to a room we had paid for to be advised they were full and we could not move until the following day reception gave us one bottle of water to wash our hands with.
Moved rooms the following day which was the correct room with a stunning view however when we got back to the room in the evening there was a strong sewage smell in our room when we reported this the staff came with disinfectant which was only a temporary fix as the smell returned the following day and the staff had to block up the drain in the bathroom to stop the smell.
On Tuesday 23rd September we noticed a note on the wall saying that the hotel facilities pool, bar and restaurant could not be used by paying guests after 2pm on the 26th due to a private family wedding, bearing in mind there was no alternative bars or restaurants nearby we all had to get the curtesy bus into Skiathos town or stay in our bedrooms. When we took this up with Jet 2 even they wasn’t aware of this. When we got back to the hotel later that evening we tried to get into the hotel to get some ice to be told stay there by a member of staff you are not allowed in here they would get some ice for us. We were treaty disgustingly on this day by the hotel they definitely did not want us there.
Also if you are visiting this hotel be aware that you are not allowed to eat any of your own snacks by the pool as we were advised of this by the barman, and he would have to report us even though there are no signs up anywhere advising of this.
The location of the hotel is very remote but the views are stunning would definitely not go back to this hotel as it wasn’t a good experience.
This is a mixed review. The hotel is in a fantastic spot for a relaxing holiday with stunning views. Rooms and all areas were immaculately clean and pool had the most comfortable sunbeds. Staff were all lovely.
However, I have never witnessed hotel guests being treated so badly by hotel management before….. with 2 days notice a small message was posted in reception stating the hotel would be closed for a private wedding. In effect guests would be unable to use any of the hotel (pool, bar, restaurant, seating areas) from 2pm until the following day. It transpires it was actually a pre-party for the owners son who was getting married - and everyone had to leave the hotel (or sit in our room) for the prep so the party could start at 6pm until “late”. The tour operators (Jet 2 and TUI) knew nothing about it. Guests who actually arrived on the day of the party were not allowed to enter the hotel and after a long day travelling were told they couldn’t have a drink or food and would have to go into town (which is 15 mins away by bus). We were told by reception that it was “just one day”. If we had known about the wedding we would have either booked a different hotel or chosen a different week. They very kindly offered us a free bus into Skiathos town (which we got anyway). The owner/management treated their paying guests with total disrespect.
Fantastic hotel, as all previous reviews, you won’t be disappointed! Book it now! Book a sea view but check if you have mobility issues as some rooms are at the bottom of a steep slope.
Beautiful clean and stunning views a wow factor as soon as you walk into reception.
All staff were amazing and very helpful .
Need more sunbeds as after we had been out in the morning and came back early afternoon you were lucky if you got a sunbed ...we never got a sunbed the whole week we were there they do have chairs which we got every day when we returned back to the hotel.
Curtesy bus make sure you book in advance otherwise its taxi and there €15 one way into skiathos town.
I would still return to this hotel because of its stunning views and peace
The stand out feature of this hotel apart from the views are the staff. Every member of staff we met went above and beyond to help and are a real credit to the hotel.
Breakfast was included and always a variety of choice, we also had lunch at the hotel on several days. Lunch was fabulous excellent value and always delicious. We did eat at the hotel on one evening but were really disappointed the quality was not great and had to wait a long time initially for our drinks orders.
There is so much that is great about this hotel that with a few tweaks would make it stand out and make it exceptional
- the shuttle bus is great but you have to book it the day before and in high season is not guaranteed however by putting on a couple more in high season this is easy solved
- the pool closes at 6 this is so that the evening dining can be set up around the pool this could be extended as it is nice to stay and enjoy the pool longer in the summer and not feel that getting in the way.
- keeping the lunch menu open till 7 the menu choices, quality and value were exceptional compared to the actual evening menu
- providing bottles of water daily in room
- lovely robes provided but the only place to hang them was in the wardrobe having some extra hooks would have been brilliant
Where do I start! After a very hectic year we wanted a relaxing peaceful two week holiday to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. We got that and more at Oniro. We most definitely will be coming back for our 35th.
From the moment we arrived the welcome was first class. We had booked a sea view room. The views from everywhere in the hotel are beautiful, even better than the photos. Our room had everything we needed and was kept spotless by the hard working staff.
Breakfast was varied and fresh. We ate in the bar area which had a great menu and large portion sizes. We also ate dinner in the hotel at least 7 nights of our stay and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Desserts to die for. What a chef!
The staff were so friendly, got to know us by name, always asked how our day was if we had been out. Knew our drink orders and genuinely took an interest. Maro & Nico along with the rest of your colleagues at breakfast and on reception thank you for making our holiday even more special.
Reception staff were all friendly and pleasant too, on leaving (sorry I can’t recall the receptionist name) asked how our stay was and honestly I was nearly in tears leaving. Even came out to wave us off. These little things stay with you and I honestly can’t praise or thank all the staff enough.
We hired a car for 11 days which gave us the flexibility to visit the monastery and beaches at our leisure. We would always manage to get seated around the pool when we returned in the afternoon.
The shuttle bus is a great service and runs like clockwork.
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with spectacular views and fantastic service Oniro is the place.
See you all in 2026. Enjoy your well deserved rest and again thank you.

I am a rare reviewer as other members of my family and friends are very good and fair reviewers. I feel compelled to add support to a recent very poor experience we ‘endured’ to celebrate a milestone family birthday with our friends. In my experience a facility that takes the time to respond with misquotes, such that incorrect facts and excuses is already in some trouble. Thank goodness for the view and the beautiful stars that night - that would not have been enjoyed by the manager as he was avidly watching the football whilst we gave his team constructive feedback and paid the bill - notably the most expensive bill by 2X. In my business we take feedback with a smile, a thank you and a promise to do better in the future! Good luck to you and farewell!
Visited the hotel as a 50th birthday celebration at a nostalgic venue (2 of the party were married here 11yrs ago). On arrival we were wow'd by the views. Absolutely stunning and a lovely looking pool area with attentive bar staff.
We were shown to our 'private dining' area (which was charged at an additional cost). We were basically placed in the outdoor breakfast area going through cereal & coffee machines! The service was slow and the food served was disappointing to say the least. A starter didn't appear, a main arrived with the starters and the lamb kleftico was sent back and replaced with pork (which was almost as disappointing). On the plus side the recommended wine was nice but a little pricey!
We are not a group who likes to complain but as it was a special occasion we did bring the issues to the attention of management. Whilst the manager did initially speak with us and agree 10% off the bill - to be clear we were not pushing for freebies, just honest recognition that the situation was less than perfect - the final frustration was felt as we watched the manager sitting watching football in reception whilst his team finalised our bill with us feeling less than listened too! He really had no interest at all in the complaint or supporting his staff.
Save your money for an authentic meal in town and just go up to this hotel for drinks as the view is phenomenal!
Absolutely amazing hotel with the best views. The staff are great and helpful. The food is brilliant. The pool is a good size for the amount of people with comfy sun beds. Couldn’t of asked for a better holiday than the one we had at oniro.
Spent a week at this beautiful hotel with the most amazing views, really did not want to leave and certainly can’t wait to return. Rooms are spotless, food and drinks are perfect and such good value for money and the loungers are extremely comfortable. The staff at the hotel are wonderful, so friendly and welcoming and attentive. This place is a little peace of paradise. I never write reviews and rarely return to hotels but this place is an exception, look forward to seeing you guys in the near future. Thank you all for such a peaceful week.
A comfortable hotel that makes the most of the space it has, but could be so much better with just a few changes.
Would defo come back.
However, be prepared to get up early to secure one of the 20 sun beds, which is not enough for a 40 room
Hotel.
The free bus to town is well used and saves you the hassle of arguing with the Robbin taxi drivers. Overall a beautiful location and lovely hotel
Just what we hoped for! Simple stylish quiet little hotel set up in the hills above Skiathos town with magnificent panoramic views of the agean and surrounding islands. Lovely friendly staff, gorgeous pool and delicious food. A totally blissful place to spend a week and would definitely recommend. We hired a quad bike to get around the island but the hotel do have a regular mini bus shuttle down to Skiathos town.
Stumbled upon by accident whilst trying to find a (very) last-minute holiday to Greece. It turned out to be a great find. It’s located on top of a hill and offers great views over the bay. It’s adults only, attracts a quiet crowd and ticks most boxes. The in-house restaurant is good, the breakfast offerings more than plentiful, and the rooms are spacious and in good nick. The staff, from the cleaners to the receptionists, are friendly and helpful. The shuttle buses into town and to the beach are reliable and a necessity. Walking uphill from the main-road is possible but not for the faint-heartened or anyone with mobility issues.
Oniro is clearly on the up as small but noticeable upgrades were introduced during our stay. The Wifi is fast enough to stream films and do video calls.
Just gorgeous. Rooms were spotless, contemporary and with amazing views. Staff were very efficient, attentive and professional. We ate in the restaurant and the food was simply delicious. We enjoyed the shuttle bus in to town each evening and it ran on the dot every night. Skiathos is such a wonderful place and Oniro didn’t disappoint. We didn’t mind the location as the views were to die for.
Arrived back after a week stay at this hotel feeling very well rested and relaxed! The hotel feels very boutique and quiet which I loved and the views are absolutely stunning. We really enjoyed staying out of the main town and being able to see how beautiful Skiathos is from the view every morning.
The shuttle bus is an excellent feature of the hotel, allowing free transport into the town centre in the evenings. We had a few meals in town, but also had dinner at the hotel, Johnny’s restaurant, which we saw was highly recommended on TikTok and we loved, and Olive Thea, which has stunning views and a free drop off and pick up service (one of our best meals too!)
The staff are super friendly and would do anything for you. We really liked that there weren’t tons of staff working at the hotel as it helped with the chilled atmosphere.
A few things to improve the hotel would be more sun beds around the pool - we felt like we had to wake up early to ensure we got a bed.. not ideal on holiday! Also free bottled water and a mini bar in the room everyday would be great as there’s no shop within walking distance. We ended up buying snacks and drinks from town and stocking up our fridge ourselves.
Overall an absolutely stunning hotel for a chilled week in the sun with beautiful views over a gorgeous island. We’ll definitely be back!
What an incredible experience from the hotel itself, the exceptional meals & cocktails, through to the brilliant team of staff (Niko, Natasa, Maro, Dimitri, Christo, Helen and others) who made our holiday the best we have ever had. The views from the balcony and pool area were truly stunning and the rooms were prepared immaculately each day. We have never returned to the same hotel on our foreign holidays but we will come back here. I can 100% recommend this hotel.
What a find this hotel was. Nestled up a hill about 15 minutes from the fishing town of Skiathos it has the most amazing views of the bay. Without exception all the staff were brilliant especially Maro and Nico (who makes the best Bloody Marys). The room was spotlessly clean and the view was terrific. We would highly recommend this hotel if you’re thinking of a trip to this stunning Greek island.
We have just returned from the Oniro after a week of relaxation. Staff were some of the best I’ve ever come across. Food was excellent and the facilities were very good. My only issue is the fact that we were in a room at the bottom of a very steep hill and although it wasn’t too much of a problem going up and down several times a day was tiring in such blistering heat. For those you are less mobile it would have been extremely difficult to negotiate. Plus I never thought to take a magnifying mirror to put my makeup on and they didn’t provide them. Having said all that it certainly dosent put me off returning next year. Thankyou to everyone that looked after us so well.
Just returned from an incredible stay at Hotel Oniro Skiathos and couldn’t be more pleased. Perched atop a hill, the hotel boasts breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea—a perfect spot for anyone looking to unwind away from the bustle of Skiathos Town. Although it’s a little removed from the center, access is easy via the hotel’s shuttle, taxis, or a rental car.
The hotel itself is immaculate. Rooms are cleaned daily, with fresh linen and towels provided regularly, including pool towels, which was a thoughtful touch. The staff truly made our stay special—friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help. From recommending day trips and the best local beaches to booking restaurants for us, their service was above and beyond.
The pool area is lovely, though the only downside was a limited number of sunbeds and the lack of parasols for the chairs, which made it tough to find shaded seating during peak sun hours. Still, the atmosphere around the pool was relaxed, with excellent food and delicious cocktails served by the ever-smiling bar staff.
Hotel Oniro offers a blend of tranquility, quality service, and incredible scenery. We left feeling refreshed and very well looked after—and we’re already looking forward to coming back.
My husband and I came for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed!
The staff helped us with our bags on our arrival and provided us with a welcome drink. Our room was immaculate with a king size bed, not two singles pushed together which you can sometimes get elsewhere.
The pool are bar area were kept clean and tidy and the views across Skiathos town are very special. Watching the planes land and boats come into the port was a highlight. The hotel could benefit from more sun beds around the pool as some mornings there were mild ‘sunbed wars’, this is something to bear in mind if you’re planning a pool day!
Breakfast was varied and fresh and was kept topped up by friendly members of staff; we were greeted with a ‘good morning’ and a smile each morning which set the tone to our day!
We ate dinner once at the hotel restaurant and again, we were not disappointed. The waiting staff were friendly and incredibly accommodating, the food portions were very generous and watching the lights start to twinkle in Skiathos town made it perfect. The cocktails were also fantastic!
The hotel is high up in the hills with the main island road being at the bottom of the hill along the coast. This means that the hotel isn’t easily accessible by foot. There is a shuttle bus that will take you into town and pick you up, or to Little Vasilias beach and back if you ask when booking. Booking needs to be made the day prior and towards the end of our trip we booked it before breakfast as it began to get busy! There is a gap in the afternoon when the shuttle bus doesn’t run so this is something to plan around.
This hotel is perfect for couples, grown up families or anyone looking for a relaxing break. It’s clean, friendly and comfortable. A big thank you to all of the staff!!
