Central but very basic
Pros:

Reception staff were great, very warm and helpful. Location is very central

Cons:

Room was quite cold, really light quilt so during the night it was cold. Pillows were too big and hard so not comfortable at all. Lots of noise from pipes/plumbing

Pros:

Staff were all very lovely and helpful. Very good location. It was clean. Breakfast was ok, did the job. Very comfortable bed (not the best pillows though). Great shop next door with groceries and hot food. Walking distance to most tourist attractions.

Cons:

The room smelled awful, like damp or sewage. Had a look at reviews and this seems to be a common complaint. Also, not the hotel's fault but there is building work going on immediately in front of the hotel entrance which started just after 6am most mornings. It was very noisy and I wasn't able to sleep through it. Breakfast is served in a small kitchen on each floor - cold meat, cheese, toast, pancakes - was giving student accommodation vibes eating breakfast at one long kitchen table. You just wash up your own dishes when you've finished.
