DO NOT book this hotel if you want to get any sleep!!!
Pros:

We were booked into the Kena hotel by the team I was working with for a week and it was so bad I moved to the Best Western after 2 nights.

The manager has rented the 10th floor out to a nightclub every night of the week until 2-3am and the noise and thump of the base can be heard and felt all the way down to the second floor. It was awful!!! The whole group complained and they just turned it down for half an hour until they thought we'd all gone to sleep and then cranked it back up again. Unless you're an incredibly heavy sleeper, even earplugs don't work. When I checked out early, they tried to put me into another hotel the manager owned, but I declined (for practicality purposes, and also because I was afraid it would be equally bad).

There were also multiple issues with the rooms. I had a balcony which didn't lock on the second floor and someone could easily have got in over the roofs below. I had to ram a chair against it. Other people complained that their air conditioning was leaking, door frames were hanging off and general shoddy workmanship. The food was bland.

The only good thing about the hotel were the staff, they were all lovely. But the hotel itself is appalling. Go anywhere else.

Horribly poor quality service with frequent power outage and internet blackout as there is no backup generator
Pros:

This is seemingly a new hotel in the business district of the city. However, I had the most horrible experience and I highlight some of it below:

1. No functioning generator so power outage and internet blackout was so common. If you are traveling for business never book this hotel. In all the days I stayed there was power outage and hence internet blackout and I was kicked out of virtual meetings.

2. The breakfast menu is very average and all with small size supply. There was no coffee served with breakfast in the days I stayed because the coffee brewing machine was broken.

3. The call to front desk/reception never picked up outside of working hours and when you go down and ask for help, you will be surprised by the treatment. It looks most staff are not properly trained, and they need more training especially Ruth.

4. I was shocked when two staff ( a technician and the guard at the reception) fought in front of me to put my luggage to the airport shuttle so that to get the tip. It was the most awkward experience.

5. Although not peculiar to the hotel, the area is very noisy with a nearby night club that play loud music until 5AM.

All in all a very bad hotel. Think twice before booking.

Worst experience - Please consider other hotels
Pros:

The hotel has a serious hygienic and ventilation problem with a terrible smell. Of the 7 days paid reservation, I had to leave the hotel (Kena Hotel) after two nights. The hotel doesn’t refund, and I had to loss over $300 USD to avoid risking of my health. That is how terrible the hotel is.

The towels were with stains and appear to be unclean. The carpet in the room was also filthy for a hotel. All in all, the hotel is not fit to stay in for obvious health risk.

The breakfast is bellow standards, and it is advisable to avoid it for those with sensitive stomach. Since the breakfast area is attached to open kitchen without enough ventilation that few minutes stay in the area guarantees kitchen smell to the clothes.

Great Hotel!
Pros:

I Loved the charm of this hotel in the heart of Finfinnee “Addis Ababa” Ethiopia . Does not give you the routine chain hotel vibe at all. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. It was so amazing! The staff was so friendly and made my stay very comfortable. I’ll be back in a couple of months!
