THE STUFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND ALWAYS WITH SMILE ON THEIR FACE. THE LOCATION IS VERY NEAR TO LOCAL MARKET AND A MALL (TOP 100) WITH ONLY WALKING DISTANCE .

Friendly, clean and helpful

Artotel Hotel has been my go-to stay for quite some time now — I’ve stayed here countless times, and it has never disappointed. For a 3-star hotel, the level of service easily feels like 5-star.
The location is highly convenient, with the wet market, BCS Mall, Grand Mall, food courts, and massage options all within walking distance — making it ideal for both short and extended stays.
What truly stands out is the exceptional hospitality. The staff are consistently warm, friendly, and attentive. Special mention to Miss Laura and Miss Monica at the front desk — their personalised service, smooth check-ins and check-outs, and thoughtful little surprises in the room always make each stay feel special and welcoming.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and very well-maintained. The bed and pillows are comfortable, the air-conditioning and WiFi work perfectly, and the TV comes with Netflix. Small touches like complimentary snacks and drinks, as well as a lavender spray to help with a better night’s sleep, really elevate the overall experience.
Breakfast offers a decent variety with daily menu changes — simple yet satisfying. The mango smoothies, pastries, and traditional kuehs were especially enjoyable (I even went back for seconds).
Considering the quality of service, comfort, and overall experience, Artotel Hotel remains more affordable than many nearby hotels that offer less.
Overall, every stay has been consistently pleasant, comfortable, and worth it.
Highly recommended, especially for those who value great service and convenience.

Location is great and the rooms were nice and clean. The bed was spacious and comfortable.

I stayed with my husband and toddler for 2 nights.
Here are the things that I liked:
- Spacious bathroom
- Towels, bathroom amenities provided
- Consistent water heating of shower, nice big rain shower, good water pressure and flow
- The breakfast spread has a lot of variety and enak banget
- Security within the premise feels okay overall
- Comfy beds and pillow. The 3 of us slept well on a king size bed.
- Smart TV can sign in Netflix account
- Wifi is good enough for social media scrolling
- The staff all speaks English and courteous

Here are the things I didn’t like:
- The fragrance smell in the room is too overpowering. I’m not sure if this is common practice across all hotels in Indonesia as it is my first visit to Batam and Indonesia. My toddler and I keep coughing as we have sensitive nose and I myself am allergic to perfume. Not sure if it comes from the bedding or the centralised vent. I usually tie my hair into a bun. When I reached home in Singapore and untie my bun, I can even smell the fragrance. Even our soiled clothes also have it.
- In the afternoon I switched off the aircond because it was too cold, and I smelled cigarette smoke. Not sure if it was from the aircond vent or from the door gap. Anyway, it was very unpleasant.

The hair dryer in our room was faulty and no hot air, I called reception and promptly someone came with a replacement.

Overall the stay was ok. Newly renovated hotel, contemporary design. Walking distance to Grand Batam Mall. However crossing the road is a challenge. Can order food delivery to hotel. Circle K opposite the hotel. Can buy bottled water easily anytime of the day.

We are very frequent visitors of Batam, particularly the Nagoya area & we have stayed in countless properties. This is the first time we’ve stayed in Artotel & the main reason(s) for this is primarily because of the many positive reviews from past hotel guests and we were definitely not disappointed! Not only are the rooms comfortable with all the necessary amenities but their service quality is above average & memorable. Particular mention must be accorded to Ms Yuni (Duty Mgr) who handled a situation we had during our short stay. She was very professional in her approach to the problem & she exuberated warmth & compassion in doing so. Kudos to her & her team. We will definitely be back for repeat stays at this fine property.
