Place was great for the family trip! Was close to all the good restaurants downtown and events! Albert was so helpful with directions and gave us the energy we needed to go out!
I will have to give this particular venue a big (1) star for numerous reason.
1. Specifically requested a room in a quiet area even if it had a view of a brick-wall. I was there to sleep not sit looking out of the window. I was assigned a room on the 2nd floor, possibly Rm (224) or (228) It is a corner room facing Both Congress Street and Church Ave which is a major downtown cross road controlled by traffic lights. All throughout the night and early morning we experienced nothing but constant traffic noise, base beats from car stereos, tires squealing, and the vibration of street cars going by. Further more, it is directly above a function room which had a function on until late into the night adding to the noise below. Eventually we requested a change, which I may add, was met with resistance. "We have nothing available,Sir." We are fully booked" Why then are all the booking sites stating you have available rooms? I suggested. Suddenly, a room was available?
2. During the evening I met a group of friends in the Bar Area, I decided for the first time in years I decided to purchase an alcoholic beverage, A friend suggested a "Tequila Sunrise." The Bar person showed me several types of Tequila. I had no idea about quality. What I do know is that how to mix and pour mixed drinks. My Father ran a Pub for many years. I noted as the bar person added the Tequila, he added one full shot and half of a second shot. In other words he shorted me. Not to create an issue in front of friends I dismissed it. later I did ask another Bar Person if the drink I had ordered was a double? she insisted, yes. Which the cost of the beverage suggested.
3. upon check out the night shift front desk agent completed my invoice. I requested a paper copy. For some unknown reason reason he couldn't make one. I request an electronic copy. Something I did not get eventually. I did note on my credit card statement, a charge for internet. Something I did not have to pay for as I am a member of their hotel group.
These all may add up to nothing more than small criticisms but, as a global traveller I know if not pointed put they eventually become big issues. Will I stay here again?
Natalie who checked me in was very helpful and went the extra mile to show me where to park in the garage. This type of great service is always appreciated.
