The Historical Society of Wilmington's music festival was the icing on the cake!
Pros:

I stayed at this hotel while attending a nearby college reunion, and I had a wonderful experience. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and every staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I also enjoyed spending time in the lounge, and the hotel's food was excellent.

One of my favorite things about the location was the variety of nearby restaurants—there were so many great options within walking distance. The hotel's proximity to the train station also made getting around very convenient.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary at the Quoin was beyond wonderful. Thanks.
Pros:

We loved the greeting we received from Danielle at the front desk who gave us a complete picture of the many offerings at the hotel. We ended up using all of them. The dining room and rooftop bar areas were great but oh, the Simmer Down. Just a terrific 24 hrs.

Hidden Gem in Downtown Wilmmington
Pros:

Fantastic staff. Unique design. Fantastically appointed rooms. Safe Valet.

If you could somehow get bored with the onsite f&b, you are a short walk some of the other best offerings in Wilmington.

Quoin Stay
Pros:

We have stayed at the Quoin one other time and had a great experience so I was excited to return. Our stay was not nearly as great this time. Our first night at the hotel the entire hotel was booked for a party (restaurant, bar, rooftop, downstairs bar). Part of staying at a hotel is being able to use the other facilities, we couldn't even go to a bar to get a drink, we were confined to our room. We also were excited to use the rooftop and couldn't but the front desk staff told us we could go the next day. The next day we got back to the hotel and the rooftop was booked again, so we were never able to go.

When we walked into our room, there was women's hair on the shower wall clearly visible, which means our shower was not cleaned, which is disgusting and not the standard for a 5 star hotel at the rate we were paying.

Towards the end of our stay we asked the front desk for a water refill and they told my husband to go get the water himself in the gym. When he went up to the gym he had to walk through the rooftop and the bride started screaming about a random man being there. Also unacceptable, water should be a standard room amenity that can be delivered to you.

Overall not happy with our experience, there was also a very loud music festival one night that we weren't aware of and couldn't fall asleep. We also couldn't valet and no-one from the hotel gave us a heads up that that would happen when we left that day with our car.

Sadly we will not be back.

Not exactly what I expected
Pros:

I booked this hotel for two nights as part of a wedding anniversary weekend focused on spending a day at Longwood Gardens. Reviews of both the hotel and restaurant were excellent. The front desk was friendly, and staffed with amateurs overseen by a helpful and engaging supervisor. Our room was spacious and quiet, with a comfortable bed, easy to adjust thermostat, great walk-in shower, and a huge sink with little counter space -- a tissue box was behind extra towels below the sink, which had a really slow drain. The rooftop bar was hip and nicely staffed. Breakfast was the smallest offering I have ever seen in 50 years of staying in hotels: coffee, a couple of oranges, two danish, and two slices of a lemon poppyseed poundcake. Good thing that, as someone needing gluten-free, I travel with my own G-F muffins. For the second day's breakfast we got takeout from a vegan & g-f counter down the street: no sit-down breakfasts near here. Valet parking at $45/night was a surprise, as was the relative isolation of the neighborhood. Kids stay free here, but I'd go with the hip aspect. My review of the Quoin restaurant is elsewhere, and, when we ate our second dinner at a seafood restaurant on the Riverfront, I noticed all the hotels along a really walkable area aside the Christina River. That's where we'll go when we come back to the area and Longwood Gardens next year.

Lovely boutique hotel
Pros:

Beautiful property, very friendly staff. The roof top bar was great and nice restaurant bar- although I did not eat there. Valet made sure to have my car parked up close for early morning departure.

Cons:

I think the bed was hard and not very comfortable

Gem in downtown Wilmington
Pros:

The hotel is an old bank and they kept a lot of the fetaures which makes this hotel a great choice. The location is perfect if you want to be in the middle of everything and just down the street from the Playhouse and Grand Theater.

The rooms are unique and large with everything updated whilke keeping the charm. The hotel resturaunt is cozy and features great menu items and a very large lisy of bourbons.

There is a Speakeasy in the basement however, we weren't able to visit because of our schedule. I hear it is a must see.

The overall value is exceptional. I would have expected to pay twice as much for the hotel. If you are visiting the downtown area of Wilmington, DE or going to see a show at one of the theaters, this is a must stay.

Hotel has potential if managed correctly.
Pros:

The Quoin is very centrally located in Wilmington. We enjoyed utilizing valet parking.

Cons:

Though advertising a rooftop bar, lobby bar and a speakeasy basement bar, only one was open the evening we stayed. We planned to have cocktails after the concert we attended. When we arrived after our concert and were told that the speakeasy required prior reservations and it operated on a “one in, one out” basis even though half of the bar was empty. We had to complain to the front desk to be seated. In the 45 minutes we were in the bar, there was always plenty of empty seating. After being seated neither of the drinks ordered were available! The waitress told us that one beverage, Baileys, was available upstairs in the closed bar but could not be retrieved for service downstairs. This was on St. Patrick’s Day weekend!

Hands Down Best Delaware Hotel I Have Stayed In
Pros:

Booked a room at The Quoin for a Valentines staycation. We had already made reservations for the Valentines dinner in the restaurant and was looking for somewhere to stay nearby.

I live in Wilmington, work a couple blocks from the hotel. Wanted to leave my 17 yo home for the night and get away with my girlfriend. We typically go to Philadelphia for overnight, but had heard good things about the hotel from a co-worker who had stayed there recently.

Completely blown away by the quality of the room. It was a suite so my expectations were high. I was not disappointed. The decor and the lighting were incredible, the bed was great, the bathroom was amazing. I can’t tell you how much I preferred this hotel to the Du Pont or anything else local. Hands down better than the W or the Ritz in Philadelphia (and I am a fan of both).

Also, very good restaurant, really nice cocktail bar in the basement, and a nice rooftop bar with an outdoor area.

If you have to stay in Wilmington this is the spot.

Fantastic experience with exemplary service
Pros:

The place is cute and quaint. It has a good lay out and feels cozy. It is a Small Luxury Hotel. We had the most amazing experience. We were caught in the January snow storm and the Manager Alec and Harry served us a family dinner with wine. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home and safe during inclement weather. Alec is a true provider of high quality service and smooth support. We are sharing our experience with friends and family. This is our hotel for future stays in Wilmington.

Beautiful hotel
Pros:

Huge room, beautiful design, and lovely rooftop and speakeasy bars. There is no breakfast at the hotel except for some complimentary pastries and coffee in the lobby, which is nice, but there are some cafe options within easy walking distance.

Not a 4 star hotel
Pros:

Horrible hotel all around, valet workers argued in front of me, Front desk bad, rooms not good, and not very clean. Didn’t have room service on Christmas Day. This is more like a 3 star hotel at best

Style over Substance
Pros:

Overall, we wanted to love the experience - we booked a suite which was comfortable and spacious. But overall, left the experience with form over substance as our conclusion. The hotel and rooms are beautiful and represent lots of attention to quality. But real world implementation was highly lacking. In the room, there are far too few plugs/USB ports. Only one side table had a single accessable plug and the other had no options. For a brand new hotel at this price point, this is totally unacceptable. The large light by the chair had no switch or controls and the only way to turn it off was to unplug it.

The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were overly fluffy and left a crinck in my neck. I eventually switched to one of the smaller pillows provided.

The inroom bar was beautiful but how are you supposed to make a cocktail with the half-bottles of spiritis with nothing that can shake or stir? One tonic for a 375mL of gin? Bathroom lacks many places to hang things - an additional hook or two would have helped. We are especially sadened by the lack of a door stop - the beautiful tile will get cracked because even the softest pressure results in the handle on the bathroom door making a loud smack against the wall. Despite having a very sophisticated WaterWorks system, the water basically only went from too hot to scalding making the shower almost unusable.

On Saturday, I was excited to go down and get coffee and pasteries as noted on the instructions since there was literally nothing else as an option for the hotel. At 9:30am, there was coffee but pastries were all gone. The coffee cups had no lids or holders to insulate from the hot coffee. A key amenity that we had planned on was effectively unavailable.

We used the valet - we were impressed, initially by the web-based system for asking for the car and tipping. Like everything, it was smoke and mirrors. We asked for our car on Saturday AM (in time for the required check out) and nothing happened - not alert to call the front desk. The front desk called right at 11am to see if we were leaving and I mentioned we were still waiting for our car. You apparently have to call the front desk for that. So 35 minutes after we initially asked for ther car did it arrive and it was covered head to toe in ice from the ice storm the night before. Not what I would expect for a $45 valet service or a hotel at this price point - one would expect a covered lot and a clear plan to get cars at checkout time.

Lastly, the staff were nice and hardworking but not super welcoming at the front desk. We asked about adding our SLH or Hilton number and given a complicated explanation as to why she couldn't do it (a quick call to Hilton took care of it from the room). On leaving, no one asked how our stay was or thanked us before we left.

In the end, while a beautiful hotel in a good location, they need to work on details. Without these small details, this is just an overpriced hotel that looks good on Instagram but disappoints.
