Hotel Kaldi

Wonderful view of the fjord.

This is a fantastic boutique hotel in a sleepy little Nothern Iceland town where the whale watching is out your window if you are lucky enough! The beer hot tubs,
which is a must if a beer lover is a 2 minute walk up the street. The pictures of this place and entrance don’t do it justice. The rooms are huge with picturesque windows of the ocean and island nearby. There is a real king size bed (not two twins stuck together). A lovey little sitting area as well. The wifi and TV works greats. The bathroom is super clean and best of all you have beer (yes that is correct) amenities. Extra towels are in the hallway as well if you need them. You are welcomed with two cans of Kaldi Beer (nice and cold in your room) as right next door is the oldest craft brewery in Iceland, Kaldi Beer. Breakfast is continental style and included in the morning. They also have s whale watching tour your right from the hotel in the mornings. Be sure to make your Beer tub reservations in advance. Look for your check-in email the day before for the code to enter your room. The restaurant at the beer tub is great for dinner (loved the salmon). Don’t drink and drive, definitely stay here and enjoy the quaintness of this town.

La propiedad esta retirada pero cerca del mar, una vista increible paraver auroras boreales. Habitaciones amplias. Tiendas un poco retiradas (15 minutos manejando) en la epoca que fuimos fue temporada bajano hay mucho que hacer.

I would give five stars for the cleanliness of everything, the beauty and the comfort of the rooms and the dining room, except that when I showed up, nobody was there to check me in! I tried to find someone for almost an hour (I cannot make phone calls from my phone in Iceland) until I decided to see if one of the staff numbers listed could get a text message. Fortunately I got an immediate reply, referring to an email I was supposed to have received (but didn't), and she gave me instructions to access my room. From then on everything was great - but I wish there had been some kind of notification at the front desk for those like me who weren't notified.

The room is nice and tidy. It’s spacious and the staff are nice! Good breakfast choices, highly recommend!
