I failed to find anything . Overall amazing stay and one of the best customer care.

From the beginning to the end of my stay, the security inspections were conducted by very polite and respectful staff. However, they were carried out very frequently, which gave the impression that the country might not be entirely safe. Alternatively, it could be that the country is still relatively new to receiving large numbers of tourists.

Second, and most importantly, the hotel reception: the reception experience was extremely poor and disappointing. The staff justified the situation by saying that I had arrived early, even though I had already paid 50% of the total booking amount, and the room was actually available. This reflects poor management and a lack of flexibility toward guests.

For a five-star hotel, this level of service does not represent Ethiopia well and does not match the standards expected from a hotel that should be part of the country’s hospitality image. I would not recommend this hotel at all based on the way I was treated upon arrival. In terms of service and reception, the Sheraton Hotel was by far superior and made the other options seem incomparable.

Third, and this is the most important issue: the internet connection in the room was very weak, and the Wi-Fi could not connect to the television. In addition, the hot water did not work properly and I had to contact maintenance four times. Even after that, the response was delayed.

Based on my overall experience, I honestly believe that even two stars would be too generous for this hotel considering the problems I encountered. I say this sincerely, and God is my witness to everything I have mentioned.

Finally, the location: the hotel is situated in an area that is not particularly suitable for walking, and the location itself is not especially impressive. However, this was not a major concern for me. The issues mentioned above were far more important and significantly affected my overall experience.

Extremely disappointing experience at Haile Grand Hotel restaurant.

We ordered our meals at the same time, but while my partner received hers, I was left waiting. After almost two hours, I still had not received my meal. I spoke with the restaurant manager, and shortly afterwards they brought me the wrong dish. By that point, we decided to leave because our evening had already been ruined.
The restaurant manager later came to our room and apologized. At first, he still expected us to pay for the meal that I had never received in the restaurant. It was only after I pointed out how unreasonable that was that he agreed to remove my meal from the bill. He also assured me that my correct meal would be prepared immediately, and it was eventually delivered to our room. However, by the time I finally received it, almost two and a half hours had passed since we had placed our order.
When the revised bill arrived, it became clear how inadequate the compensation really was. The hotel still insisted that we pay for my partner's meal and all of our drinks, even though the entire dining experience had been ruined because of their service failure. They also offered a fruit platter, but that did not come close to compensating for what had happened.
What disappointed us even more was how the situation was handled. Even while we were still in the restaurant, several members of staff appeared visibly irritated when we raised the issue. Later, five members of staff came to our room to continue discussing the bill. Rather than focusing on resolving the situation, they repeatedly argued that "everything is transactional" and insisted that because my partner had eaten her meal, we still had to pay for it. We spent around 30 minutes discussing the matter before finally signing the receipt under protest, simply to end the confrontation.
I appreciate that the manager apologized and eventually ensured that I received my meal.
