Great location but awful place. Don’t bother
Pros:

Liberatos village has an amazing location overlooking Lassi and its beautiful coastline. That’s why it’s such a shame that the owner/manager has made it such an unpleasant place. All the negative reviews online are spot on.

The owner/manager only cares about how much money he can squeeze from you while providing a minimum level of service.

There was no information in the room whatsoever, not even a card with the Wi-Fi code on it.

On bad weather days, there was no one to be seen on site after about 6 o’clock so if there was a problem you didn’t know who to contact. As this place is quite out of the way at the top of a steep hill, I didn’t feel safe knowing that there was no one here, especially on the nights when heavy rain made the surfaces very slippery and quite dangerous around the complex.

The sun loungers around the pool were not covered or removed during the storms. They had thick cushions which were soaked through, making them unusable for the remainder of the holiday.

The prices at the pool bar are ridiculously inflated (€5 for a small coffee) and the quality of food is very poor. I paid €10 for two fried eggs, two thin strips of bacon, 1 piece of toast and a horrible potato and cabbage mix on the side.

The male cleaner tried to get into my room without knocking first to see if anyone was in. When I told him I was in the room he still tried to enter until I told him to come back later. He didn’t bother. The so-called cleaning on other days consisted of emptying the bins. He only made the bed once during my stay.

My room was very basic and drab. There were no drawers or cupboards to place my clothes or other small items - only a rail with hangers (see photo).

The wiring needs urgent attention as it is worn out, possibly even dangerous. When I plugged in my phone to charge I could see sparks coming out from the socket. The switch for the bathroom light doesn’t work properly. It sometimes turns on the light sometimes it doesn’t.

The fridge in the room was so loud I had to unplug it because I couldn’t sleep. The door had frosted glass and the outside lights filled the room with light all night so I couldn’t sleep without an eye mask (see picture of room with light shining on to mirror).

The shower had a horrible stain on the floor and mould on the curtain. It didn’t drain properly, which meant that I had to keep switching off the water to stop it from flooding the bathroom (see photo).

The Aircon unit is supposed to work as a heater, but it produced no heat even when I set it to 31°.
It was chilly at night but there was no blanket, only a thin piece of material (see photo).

The Wi-Fi was weak and patchy. The only device that I could use was my phone - it was too weak for my iPad.

The television didn’t work on the evenings when it was raining or there was a storm.

Overall, this is the worst place I have ever stayed at. The comfort and safety of guests appears to be of no interest to the owner/manager.

SELF CATERING WITH NO PANS! BUT MANY WASPS
Pros:

Nice big pool, spacious, however our rooms were infront of an orchard and the wasps made it impossible to use our balcony.
Also the self catering apartments both lacked a saucepan we asked at reception for one so we could cook but were told NO!!!.
Also back doors didn't lock told to use shutters which the lock fell out of whenever you tried to lock it. Hinge broken on kitchen shutters which therefore wouldn't close, shower leaked all over bathroom floor, mouldy ceiling in bathroom, blg long black hairs left in sink n shower and yellow water in loo brush.

Lovely pool area - very poor accommodation
Pros:

Stayed self catering first impression beautiful gardens and excellent pool area then we got to our room stayed in L block on the ground floor a one bedroom apartment. Space wise for 2 of us was great but it seemed dirty. The Kitchen was very limited with no essentials ie cloths supplied. The cooker was a mini stand alone with 3 rings it was disgusting not being cleaned at all. The bathroom was awful dirty toilet, dirty shower curtains and dirty taps. The bedroom was ok wardrobes are above the bedside cabinet which I struggled with hanging my clothes. The patio doors had a poor lock and strangers walked up and down the field outside. There were open pipes in every room not sure what they were for!! Good air conditioning and a safe provided. The staff at the pool bar during the day were miserable for the first week but did eventually smile during our second week. Wasps were a nightmare by the pool could not eat there many guests got stung. Location on a steep hill - no shuttle transport so you have to walk down or get a taxi at a cost of €8. Had an ok holiday but probably not go back.

A peaceful place with a great view
Pros:

After visiting Kefalonia earlier in the year, over on the Lixouri side, we decided to come back and chose stay in Lassi at Liberatos Village. Yes the room was basic and we were room only but the bed was extremely comfortable, linen changed every three days, towels were excellent, but bring your own beach towels for use by the pool. Our bin was emptied daily and it’s generally a very clean resort. As others have said it could do with some general upkeep, but we’ve stayed in worse in the UK!!!
We read the reviews about the walk up the hill and glad we hired a car, but it’s not as bad as it sounds especially if you time it right you get buzzed by bats.
Would we come back ? ………….yes - it’s a great place to have as a base to explore the island.

25 min walk up a hill
Pros:

Good:
Clean rooms towels and sheets
Pool just perfect with luxury beds very comfy
20 min walk down large hill doable but not if you have any injuries
Stunning views
Air conditioning was lovely

Bad:
Rooms are very dated rusty taps chipped tiles and mirrors and flaking paint
Shower was not big enough to stand in
Bar and food prices were VERY overpriced no one ate or drank there which is a shame as it would of been lovely to have a lunch or evening meal
Staff looked bored all the time

Tui who we booked with were awful. They were non responsive and would not use them again
We would not stay here again unless they update rooms and cheer the staff up

Lassi is beautiful been coming for 12 years stayed all over

Great location, poor facilities
Pros:

You are paying for the views, the pool, and the aircon. The views are incredible. The bins were emptied daily and the bedding and towels were changed after 3 days.

Cons:

The rooms are very dated and very basic. We had garden room and a self catering room. The garden room was large and empty. Hardly any storage and lots of room empty space. The self catering room had a dirty 2 plate oven, one wine glass and was missing basic utensils, like a spatula. It also came with no plug and zero basics like dish cloth or dish soap. The bathroom sink was dirty. The bar/restaurant was overpriced compared to other local amenities. They have no facilities for laundry.

Mixed review - pool great, bar prices and service need attention.
Pros:

My stay at Liberatos Village was a mixed experience.

The pool area was the highlight. The sunbeds come with thick mattresses, with great views.

However, the room was quite basic, though it was clean and tidy.
Unfortunately, the bar prices are extortionate - to pay €7 for a watery pint of beer and €6 for a small Mythos bottle, especially when you can find a large Mythos bottle for just €4-€5 in pretty much all others bars and hotels.

Service at times is lacking. The staff seemed disinterested and didn’t engage much with guests. Also had to ask multiple times for my room to be cleaned. Asked for a towel on last day for a quick shower (late check out) to be told no!

Lastly, the hotel is at the top of a steep hill. While it’s about a 10-minute walk down, expect a 15-minute trek back up, which can be a killer, especially in the heat.

Will return to Lassi, but not to this hotel.

Has potential to be better
Pros:

We stayed here for a week in a studio which was clean and spacious. Bathroom was a little grubby with shower so high up I could nearly reach. Always hot water available. The pool area is what drew me to book. The views are magnificent, the pool is lovely, the sunbeds are the comfortable but again a little grubby. What let's the property down the most is the prices of drinks and food around the bar. 7 euros for a small beer, 3.50 for a can of pop. 5.00 for a coffee. Because youre so high up there is no other choice but to pay these prices. We spent a few nights in Argostoli which is beautiful, only 8 euros to get there. As opposed to the 8 euros to bring you from the bottom of the hill to the liberatos with takes around 30 seconds. Overall a lovely week, but wouldn't return

It could be amazing, but it’s not.
Pros:

Liberatos Village Hotel has the potential to be brilliant but it falls way short.

I’ll start with the good bits. The hotel’s perched at the top of a steep hill, so yes, it’s a bit of a slog to get to, but you’re rewarded with cracking panoramic views from the pool and some of the rooms. There’s a nice breeze up there too, which is a godsend in the July/August heat.

The pool area is a real highlight, big, deep (2.2m), clean, with large, comfy loungers, but could do with a clean they are a bit grubby. The bar’s well stocked, food’s decent (though slightly more expensive than down in the resort, as you’d expect), and the staff are generally friendly and polite especially the bar staff and receptionists. The outdoor areas are lovely too, loads of greenery, flowers, fruit trees and the odd palm tree.

But that’s where the positives end….

The inside of the self-catering rooms is where the whole thing unravels. We booked through TUI and were led to believe it was 3T (3-star) accommodation, inside the rooms it’s more like 1-star at best.

The cooking facilities looked like they’d been dragged out of a skip, rusty and ours was held together with tape, with loose wires hanging out, this one was eventually replaced. The hob was filthy, the kitchen tap sprayed water halfway into the living space, and the bathroom tap wouldn’t turn off. The air con started leaking by day two. In our other room were met with blood stains and snot on the pillow on arrival, not exactly the welcome I expect from a TUI package holiday.

We had two rooms, both had problems. After raising a complaint and being told no other rooms available, we were offered a “more basic” room (worrying) from the hotel owner or the chance to switch hotels at an extra £1500 for 4 days from TUI. Repairs were eventually done to the tap and replacement pillow but only done after we raised them with TUI customer services who got onto the owner. Even then, things like mould on the ceiling and a grim, stained shower curtain remained.

What really soured it was the attitude of the so-called manager with an “American” accent, rude to my missus and dismissive, even accused us of exaggerating.

If they ripped out the rooms and gave them a proper refurb, this place could be class. But as it stands, great on the outside but a proper horror show on the inside. Wouldn’t return or recommend anyone to stay here. I’ve told TUI to either reduce the rating to a 2T or remove the self catering option as it’s totally misleading showcasing this as a 3T.

Lassi however we never had a bad meal out! Great little resort with some fantastic beaches.
