A new experience, worth trying.
Pros:

Unique accomodation in a monastery.
Good breakfast. Perfect location in the heart of beautiful vine village of Gumpoldskirchen. Perfect short trips possible, very good traditional food within few steps. We stayed there with a grandchild and our dog. Walks possible along vineyards.

Viel Ruhe, freundliches Personal und sehr nah an Wien
Pros:

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt, spontan gebucht und wir waren letztlich froh in der Vorweihnachtszeit keine Unterkunft mehr direkt in Wien gefunden zu haben. Denn egal, ob mit Auto oder den Öffentlichen, man ist sehr schnell in der Wiener Innenstadt. Außerdem: Nach dem Trubel der Innenstadt war es schön, abends wieder in eine ruhige Gegend zurückzukommen. Unseren Hund mitzubringen, war ebenfalls kein Problem. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Gasthaus direkt neben / vor dem Schloss ist außerdem definitiv einen Besuch wert.

Pros:

Wonderful location in a climatic castle with a chapel, surrounded by vineyards.
Very tasty breakfasts and tidy rooms. Delicious local wine (!).
A trail to Wienerwald right next to the Schloss and Vienna only 20 km.
And of course a very hospitable owner.

direkt im Ortskern in einem alten Schloss (gruselig), Handtücher vorhanden, Zimmer riesig

sehr altes Mobiliar, der Fernseher so groß wie ein heutiges Tablet
ich habe noch nie im Leben so viele tote Fliegen gesehen zwischen den Doppelfenstern, im Ortskern gibt es genau nichts zu tun (wir waren nur wegen einer Hochzeit hier), in unserem Zimmer gab es keine Türe zum Schließen (wir sind als Paar und Freunde gereist), unser Zimmer lag neben einer Kapelle was sehr unheimlich war, das Frühstück ist mäßig

Gumoldskirchen castle is the best place for a short stop as well as exploring Vienna
Pros:

Quiet, peacefull area with vineyards around the castel. Amazing view from hotel room. The access to the historical castel by little stone bridge over the moat. We feel ancient time atmosphere being there. Beautifull courtyard, staircases and original decoration, furniture and paintings. Gumpoldkirchen is worth to stay not only as a stop during the trip. Excellent restaurant 2 mins walk. Parking facilities just by the castle entrance is an advantage.
