Location, location, near everything.
The hotel is in a beautiful historic building, at the end of the Parque de la Chinca. It is family operated and the owners are very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. They have two pools. They provided enclosed parking for our rental car.
Not a fault of the hotel, I suppose, but the location showing on Booking.com is not correct. Also, the directions obtained from Google Maps are wrong. They lead to a narrow street and end at a tall stone wall that you are supposed to walk up. We left the car there and found the main entrance by walking around the block. The hotel owner was kind enough to go and get our car, since navigating the labyrinth of narrow, steep one-way streets would have been a major challenge. The hotel entrance is not on Calle 9, but at the end of Calle 9a, past the church.
The serving staff was attentive.
The bed was like a rock. The bathroom can barely fit an adult inside, no hot water. at the pool, I was told there was permission to smoke. Halfway through a very expensive cigar a staff member told me Cigars are not allowed, but only cigarettes. He said, people dont like the smell. I looked around, and we were the only people at the pool. We wont be back.

Tucked into a corner of the town square, the location is excellent. Secure off street parking The swimming pool was lovely as it was baking hot when we arrived. Aircon in room worked OK, but was a bit rattly. Our waiter was friendly and breakfast was pretty good by South American standards. There is a bar but no restaurant.
Receptionist didn't exactly make me feel welcome upon arrival. Room super basic, in below average condition. Bed jammed against one wall and no bedside tables. Only one socket for chargers. Only lighting one bare bulb on the wall. No WiFi in room.
Great location in a quiet, secluded corner of town. Breakfast and lunch were good. Staff is friendly. Pool was nice and no loud music.
It’s a quirky old building. Odd furniture strewn around. Rooms have weird features like a bathtub you have to step down into from above which is kind of scary. It’s not a luxury property though and the price is good for what you get and the peaceful welcoming atmosphere.
