Pros:

I always stay here when I'm in Cairo. The location is excellent, the staff is wonderful, and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. It is basic, but a good value.

Old, dusty and overpriced
Pros:

Convenient location on Zamalek.

Cons:

I requested non smoking rooms, but one of the rooms we got stank of cigarettes. There is old, dusty carpet all over the hotel, which looks like it has not been properly cleaned in ages. The lock on one of our room doors did not work properly. Given this we left shortly after arriving and booked a different hotel. Overall given the price and the fact that the hotel claims to be a 3 star hotel it is certainly not value for money.

Review of Horus Hotel
Pros:

Wonderfully friendly staff. The location of the hotel in Zamalek is perfect for exploring Cairo. There is a lovely balcony where you can drink coffee or tea and admire the view. The breakfast (not included in the reservation cost) is nice and reasonably priced. You can pay in Egyptian pounds or dollars. There is a 24/7 reception desk. The hotel has some wonderful artworks in the communal areas. We enjoyed the sense of tranquility and the character of the place.

Cons:

The shower in the bathroom was not functioning properly. It is not immediately clear how the air- conditioning unit works, although it was not required when we visited March/April 2026. The rooms have functioning WiFi, but the communal areas require mobile data or an esim card. The hotel is located on the fourth floor of an apartment block and the lifts are small - only two people with luggage can fit in at any given time.

Ottima esperienza e bel ricordo
Pros:

Struttura molto bella nel suo stile retrò. Ottima la pulizia. Posizione veramente ottima per le mie necessità. Ci sono margini di miglioramento ma credo che sia una struttura veramente molto valida per il soggiorno al Cairo.

Cons:

Niente in particolare. Migliorerei alcuni aspetti ma niente di fondamentale.

Hôtel bien situé dans le centre du Caire,calme et accueillant
Pros:

Tres bien placé ,personnel gentil (pas toujours efficace)calme.bon rapport qualité prix

Cons:

La clef de la chambre ne fonctionne pas,
La salle de bain avait des odeurs désagréables à l’arrivée,la tv en panne trois jours.

Il nostro soggiorno è stato molto confortevole. L'hotel Horus è un'oasi di pace al Cairo dove rilassarsi dopo una giornata in giro per la città, sentendosi a casa e usufruendo della terrazza in comune con divanetti e del bookcrossing. Molto apprezzabili la pulizia e la gentilezza e disponibilità del personale sempre pronti per supporto e consigli. Posizione perfetta a Zamalek, vicino a negozi e ristoranti. Consigliato a chi ama uno stile semplice e un po' nostalgico.
