The Abbey Hotel and conference centre

A fridge would have been great. Shower mixer not good. TV a lot of Pixelating constantly bad reception. Although cooked breakfast was plentiful and tasty limited cereals, no fruit.

The bed was quite uncomfortable—it dipped in the middle, so we kept rolling into each other whenever we tried to turn over. The food was just mediocre, and the room itself was very hot with no air-conditioning. The TV was so old that we had trouble watching it because the picture was completely pixelated with squares all over the screen. On top of that, the internet kept going on and off all the time. It was also quite noisy, as we could hear doors slamming outside. To finish it off, there were no lights in the corridors, so I couldn't even see where I was putting my key in the door! But honestly, despite all of these issues, I would actually still stay here again.

I asked for a fan but they weren’t sure they had some but I called them and they were happy for me to bring my own. Which I did made the room comfortable to sleep in .
Very disappointed at breakfast we arrived 30 mins before cut off serving time only to be told they had been very busy and had run out of most things the girl serving us ran in to the kitchen and asked chef what he had left so we were told they had bacon and could do a bacon bap which was fine we were only ones in the restaurant her attitude was more like they couldn’t be bothered to cook for us a hotel that runs of of everything on the breakfast menu is a bit questionable really

They have irresponsible receptionist . I contacted them earlier that i m going to check in at 23:10 and arrived at the property at 23:06 we agree that they are going to leave keys at the door but there were no keys. . Reception is off , no out of hours or emergency contact number written anywhere around reception . I stranded without place to stay . I wait till 2 am so booking.com find me a alternative place to stay. .

Very good audibility from outside. No plug to near beds where to plug computer.

Room 3 door was a bit battered and flimsy
Bar area was a bit sparse and hot drinks wernt hot or tasty

As per the room welcome information, we made a point of asking for no housekeeping on the first day, so my partner could get much her needed rest for a few hours. Unfortunately, the housekeeping staff did not get this message, They made a lot of noise trying to get in and appeared to walk away laughing and mocking my partner after she politely declined the housekeeping again. The walls are thin so you can hear the adjacent rooms, but this was expected from previous reviews.

The place is just shabby. Receptionist on check in was very good but she was also the bar person and chef.
Food was plastic reheated even the breakfast was poor.
