OK but basic.
Pros:

Good value and secure parking for my motorbike.

Cons:

Rooms are made out of unpainted chipboard which isn't very pleasant. No hot water. No power outlet in room that was accessible.

Stay for 4 nights to do 3 hikes
Pros:

The staff at GLL hotel are the most wonderful people I have ever met. Gilberto, the owner of the hotel is very attentive. He drove me to a restaurant so I can have breakfast. I wanted to do the 3 trails, he organized and booked the guide for me. Fernando, his wife and Diana(I hope I spell their names correctly) are very helpful. Fernando speaks very good English so he helps translate for me. They made tea for me after my hikes, cooked breakfasts at very early hours before treks. They also ordered food for me when it was raining hard outside and I wasnt feeling well to leave the place to find food. The room was clean and the view from the terrace is great. The room is simple with 2 beds and toilet. There is also a TV but I didnt use it. Toilet was kept clean. There are many hangers to hang your clothes after hikes. My room was cleaned every day.
The hotel is walking distance to restaurants and to the main square. However it is up the hill, so it will be a short climb before you get home. Consider it a warm up for your hikes. It is advertised that the hotel has hot water however to me, it is just lukewarm water. There was one day I was soaking wet after a hike due to heavy rain, I was not able to shower as I know I would get sick since the water is not hot enough for me. However, this might be considered hot water for people in this town. It is just a personal preference. Wifi is strong but sometimes, it is spotty.

Pros:

Nice hotel hosted by a friendly family. We were able to leave our bags there while hiking in the mountains. Common area with kitchen, fridge, and potable water.

Cons:

The room and bathroom are not cleaned well, loud music played quite early in the morning and late at night which is not conducive to sleep.

Nice view over El Cocuy!
Pros:

Very friendly and caring host, she was always available in case we needed something. Also, she helped us to organize a tour into the national park (guide, insurance, registration, ...). From our room as well as the terrace (kitchen) we had a nice view over the village and the mountains. We had a great time at GLL Hostel and even extended our stay :)

Cons:

It's a bit steep to get there from the center - but as you get rewarded with a great view that is only a small minus. The shower is either super hot or cold, no in between.

cocuy and findig guides although it was quite
complicated and very much work
for her! Thanks a lot! In the kitchen you will find everything you need for cooking and there is free drinking water provided. I had always warm water in the shower and although we had some cold nights, I was never freezing, because the blankets are very warm! The WIFI worked very well and I could use youtube & netflix on the TV in my room! I will certainly come again!

Construction site
Pros:

Owner accepted our cancellation free of charge when we arrived and didn't want to sleep there; maybe at some point in the future it will be a nice place.

Cons:

The location on booking.com is wrong, leads to another hostel. We had a lot of trouble finding the place at night and when we arrived we were shocked. This is a complete construction site, three rooms are barely finished. For example there is a 1cm space even when you close the windows and there are a LOT of mosquitos. You will be alone at the edge of the town, kitchen is not done, there are no food options as specified on booking.com. There are also no private parking spots, also false advertisement like the food. Just don't stay there, at least not until the place is finished.
