Good starting point to walk to a few sites. At first I liked the owner and atmosphere. I also met some wonderful people and without them my stay would have been much harder.
Bedroom was dirty, no toilet paper, no bedsheets. You can here the loud talking and TV just downstairs night after night and like if you would be there. At first I liked the people there but they started arguing in front of me and it made me stay weird. Also calling someone family isn't enough when you are paying your stay you just want to have a minimum standing but that was really a hotel falling apart. Even the shower was a disaster and hearing the neighbours bitting their children wasn't nice as well.
Position idéale pour visiter a pied beaucoup de monuments a deux pas du guichet et de Memnon. Chambre basique mais eau chaude matelas confortable vue superbe de l hôtel. Très très très calme on respire
Petit déjeuner existant certes mais très simple
The location of the hotel is its best asset. Located a one minute walk away from the ticket office for the ancient sites, and with a front row view of the desert and newly discovered golden city. The valley of the queens, Habu temple, memnon, ramesseum, tombs of the workers, along with many ancient palaces are all walking distance away. It’s quiet and peaceful both day and night. At night it can seem dark or secluded if it is your first time, but as a female solo traveller I felt safe at all times. The owner Refat is very kind and helpful to ensure you have a pleasant trip. Also, the breakfast is fantastic! I enjoyed most taking a bicycle along the relatively quiet mountain roads with constant views of ancient temples, tombs, statues, and palaces as I rode along. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a hotel in a good location for the ancient sites, and who wants a quiet peaceful experience
The dogs in the street at night, but it did not take away from the amazing experience I had at this place
Pharaoh's Hotel was absolutely lovely. The owner Refaet was such an amazing host. He was very attentive and can organise anything you like. The location is right across from the Valley of the Queen's and Worker's. The food was excellent and absolutely generous portions. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and had a great time. In winter it is cold at night so just ask for extra blankets. The water in my room was hot and I had plenty of shower time before it started cooling down. The view from the rooftop is breath taking too! Don't let the out of the way location deter you, this is a great hotel!
Chilly at night but most homes don't have heat anyway so just be more prepared than I was!
Position is key, great for all the West Bank antiquities. Hotel is a bit shabby and shows its age. But god forbid they pull it down and build a 5* in its place. This is the West Bank at its best, Welcoming, homely and great value for money. Bed was comfortable, Water was hot and sockets in room to charge up your batteries.
One Mosquito gave me hell, but in the morning I got him back. Sorry about the blood on the wall.
The view of the Valley of the Kings & Queens is INCREDIBLE and so is the location!
I would recommend staying at Pharos while exploring the West Bank and its amazing historic sites and for the hot air balloon ride(save on precious sleep). Then consider moving to east bank to visit Karnak and Luxor temple and museum. Refat, the owner, was great at arranging taxis and tours at a very good price.
This property is definitely worth staying at when visiting the valleys and it is surrounded by historic sites. We were able to walk home from the valley of the queens and didn’t have to be hussling for a taxi home. However the room was quite basic with en-suite bathroom and a bed and a desk but no fan and wall plugs a little old school.
The area is quiet and no hussle bussle, which after being in Egypt a few days is a dream!!
The property has bicycles to use to cycle around the area and visit surrounding historic sites!
Refat is super kind and welcoming and made us feel right at home. He is very kind and helpful and has his clients best interest at heart. (Thanks Refat!!)
Oh and the breakfast eggs are delicious! 🤤
The room is basic but it is value for your money!
Great location in a quiet part of the West Bank. Really helpful host Reefat. Should be back sometime.
Room could have been a bit cleaner. Water and electric cuts but this was everywhere in Luxor because of the goverment. Shower packed in but I could use the one in the room next door.
I really love the location, right in front of the valley of queens, and close to most of the temples on the West Bank. It’s very quiet at night. Sitting at the roof top, watching the nice view of the valleys is unforgettable for me. And also in the morning you will see lots of balloons rising with the sun.
The breakfast is great.
The owner is amazing, very helpful.
The food was amazing and the people are very very friendly and kind! The food was the best! If you want to see the impact on your money on locals who actually are appreciative and happy- stay here. The view from the top was beautiful- we could see all of the valley of the queens! Family is super kind and super welcoming, you truly feel like you are one of the family! Definitely would recommend!
We were on the top floor, and sometimes the shower didn’t work, and you didn’t get sheets, you just had the top sheet and wool blankets, however; I’m not sure how much of that is based off of the room, as the other rooms downstairs had better amenities.
The location is perfect, really close to all the touristic sites on the West Bank, you can go by foot or bike if you want. They provide food at really good prices , and the owner is super nice ! I highly recommend it !
Location is excellent if someone wishes to visit West Bank monuments as a solo traveler. The hotel is very near to the ticket office, also a short walking distance to Medinet Habu temple as well as to Merenptah temple. The hotel has basic facilities, but it was ok for 1 or 2 nights. Modest room, but beatiful view to the desert hills from the roof terraces. The owner and the staff were very friendly, I got even at a very early morning time the breakfast.
This was a returning visit, so I knew the hotel from eerlier times and it was accoring to my expectations. Not a new building, but safe place at the West Bank.
Very close to ticket counter & west bank sites . Host Refaat treats you like a family . Great filling breakfast .
Hotel disastroso l unica nota positiva la cortesia e disponibilità del proprietario.
Disappointed on a number of levels. As an example my Room had no working shower. The plus was the breakfast and rooftop patio view.
The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful with all our needs. Great location and easy to find. Also, it was nice and quiet. Highly recommend
Refat the owner was very kind and understanding when our plans changed, his English is great and he has a lot of international experience which makes its easy to understand each other. He immediately provided hair shampoo and hair dryer and additional blankets upon request. He also helped booking the air balloon flight over Luxor and that was a wonderful experience. the location of the guest house is really the best in a very quiet area and closest to most important attractions on the Westbank of Luxor. It is truly wonderful to reach on foot to most of the temples and not depend on transport. Rauf who is in charge of transport for this lodging is also a great staff, polite, knowledgeable and you can feel safe and secure. the other elderly staff is constantly cleaning the hotel and the yard, preparing for you the breakfast and other foods if needed. There is also a fridge downstairs where you can store a couple of drinks and fruits. Nearby there is a local vegetable shop and the Habu temple. The view from the top floor is wonderful at any time of the day, you can observe the workers digging for new archaeological discoveries, the sunset and early in the morning you can enjoy the balloons flying over you. it is much better to have a room in this area instead of the very loud touristy and potentially dangerous Nile River, here there are not many locals to hassle you around and Refat the owner can organize whatever you need like mosquito spray even.
The staff was very helpful and extremely kind. The hotel was very pleasant an quiet. The outdoor terrace and breakfast were wonderful. Nice view of the desert/mountains from the roof top. Lovely cat.
The lightning in the bathroom could be improved. Also shampoo or soap could be provided.
The location is excellent and the manager is super kind and helpful. Feel free to ask him any questions or ask for any help. It is a very good value for the money too.
The faculties are bare minimum.
Services and breakfast was good.
Beside house keeper was amazing man.
I recommend this place to everyone.

Very run down property. Has not not touched since the 70’s. The door latch was broken and I couldn’t get out in the morning. I had to pick the latch with a coat hanger to get out. The owner manager was never there, just a boy who could not do anything. Was also very noisy at night couldn’t sleep. Plus there was a used sanitary towel in my bin.
