Grecotel LUXME Oasis at Riviera Olympia & Aqua Park

We chose this hotel as we had previously been to the Grecotel Costa Botanica and had had an amazing time there. The only thing that could have been improved the previous year was to have a proper sandy beach, and the Olympic Riviera provided that in abundance! The beach is stunning with crystal clear waters and beautiful views over the Ionian Sea towards Kefalonia and Zante. This is possibly one of the best beaches in Greece.

First the great things about the Olympic Riviera: the kids’ club was amazing. Every single member of staff obviously loved their job. They put so much effort into keeping the kids entertained, it was a joy to see. Thank you so much to all of you. Felix had the best time with you all!
The water park was also a highlight, and kept kids (big and small) entertained.

The food in the a la cartes were great and definitely on par with the Costa Botanica. Service was mostly very good. You should definitely also take up the option of the dine out which is located a short walk away on the village down the road. Lovely Greek good, and a nice change of scenery.
The buffet lacked a little bit of finesse compared to our experience at the Grecotel the previous year.
The drinks were of good quality and you could choose from a decent wine list, and cocktails were made to order. However the wait at the bars was really too long. Either queuing up or waiting to be served at the table took between 30-45 minutes which shouldn’t be the case at a 5 star hotel. Again, the previous trip in Corfu didn’t have this issue at all.

The staff were very good on the whole. Stenia at reception was a highlight - she really tried her best to make sure we had a great holiday, and I appreciate all her efforts. She deserves all the plaudits she receives! However there were some things that were beyond her power such as some of the basic facilities in the room and the bathroom needing refurbishment (the flush in the toilet was very hit and miss, and the shower leaked). The room itself was fine and we had a huge terrace with a side sea view, but we missed things such as a full length mirror.

I’m being very picky here, mainly due to our experience the previous year. We had assumed the level would be the same, or even better considering the Olympic Riviera cost €1000 more than the Costa Botanica. The Olympic Riviera is also classed slightly higher by Grecotel themselves, but I would personally disagree with that. I think if we hadn’t experienced the amazing service in Corfu, we would have been very satisfied here. But the small things here and there were just slightly disappointing.

All in all I would definitely still recommend this hotel mainly due to the beautiful beach, amazing kids’ club and access to the water park.

Breakfast was great and location as well.

Der Strand war Toll. Das Essen war gut. Was uns besonders gefallen hat, ist das freundliche Personal. Ganz besonders die Kinderbetreuer haben einen sehr guten Job gemacht im Grecoland. Unser Kind wollte garnicht weg von da. Dankeschön an die Betreuer: Athina, George, Babtiste, Vagelis und an Aggeliki.

Σε γενικά πλαίσια ήταν όλα πολύ ωραία.

Jest to jeden z lepszych hoteli, w którym byliśmy. Czuć, że mamy pięciogwiazdkowy hotel, rewelacyjne opcje w ramach all inclusive, bardzo uważna i pomocna obsługa. Bardzo chętnie tam wrócimy

AVOID THIS HOTEL

Huge health hazard. Plates, glasses (at the beach bar) and cutlery dirty. Bed mattress and pillow (although the hotel changes sheets) when we took them out there were dusty. When we stayed a kid nearly drawn (the life guards did not know they have to call the ambulance - having said that the ambulance is 1h away so no chance of survival if they perform CPR).

The closest ambulance is 1h away. If someone has a heart attack or if drawn and heart stops they have no defibrillator - it would die as CPR can be done for maximum 10-15min.

The personnel at the reception do not know the hotel - if you ask for directions they tell you to download the Grecotel application - you cannot locate the various facilities from the hotel map - you ate on your own. They have some stupid rules that you cannot enter the restaurant even if it is empty unless somebody takes you to a table. If you order a coffee in the morning from the serving personal it can take 1/2h or more to receive it. Unless you speak Greek (they have special treatment) you are treated as a ‘second class tourist’. I’ve stayed in Grecotel Luxme in Corfu. The one in Corfu is a ‘10’. The way this hotel is run I could give it with indulgence a ‘7’. BUT if you care for your health or life avoid it.

The hotel manager is arrogant and doesn't care about what a 5* hotel should look like and what sort of services it should offer - he said when I told him about the health hazards `the hotel is open for several weeks already and nobody got sick`!

PS I feel the urge to add some additional information for the hotel manager. When the kid was offered CPR NOBODY from the hotel called the Ambulance (most probably they did not know they have to do it) - I called the reception and told to the receptionist to call it. Maybe you have trained your staff meanwhile and you brought some new as you mentioned me. I mentioned you several times that cutlery and plates are not washed properly and you said 'nobody got sick since the beginning of the season'. As if not the fact that the plates are dirty is important, but the fact that you have not heard that somebody had food poisoning. In the main restaurant I could smell a few times what the previous person ate or even see it on the cutlery.... Also the glasses at the beach bar are not properly cleaned. And the things could go on and on...

We had the most amazing time at this hotel.

The drinks, food, a la cartes, pools and cleanliness were amazing. Huge selection of food and drink available, something for everyone.

The added water park was also amazing although we only went once because we had such an amazing time in the hotel.

The only problem we had over the week stay was at the weekend it was opened to locals and was far too busy and unfortunately standards did drop. Staff said it was due to a bank holiday.

As soon as the weekend was gone, it went back to an amazing standard.

Would love to return and have compared all other holidays to this beautiful hotel.

Everything was perfect and we had a fantastic experience! Our kids really loved the Grecoland activities while we were able to relax. The gastronomy is excellent, with many specialty restaurants and food corners which added more comfort to our stay. What left the best impression was the kindness and friendliness of the staff. We have never experienced such attentive and personalized service before. Congratulations and thank you for the unique hospitality.
We would love to come back.

Great vacation for the kids (waterslides, horse riding, paintball, water sports), visiting the resort every summer for the last 3 years.

Very nice place for a relaxed family holiday, with enough entertainment for the kids and great quality food for the grownups.
