Taverna Akrogiali

Very quiet place in a very quiet beach (pebbly). Superb host, Paulos aided by Hussein. Food was great.

Einfache aber charmante Taverne am Lycos Beach, gute Lage wenn man am E 4 weiterwandern will. Der Besitzer Pavlos ist sehr herzlich und sehr bemüht, seinen Gästen eine gute Zeit zu verschaffen. Es gibt eine kleine aber feine Auswahl an Speisen, welche Pavlos Mama zubereitet und sehr gut schmeckt! Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber sehr sauber und man hat alles was man braucht, sogar einen kleinen Balkon mit Meerblick

This is one of those rare hidden gems you almost want to keep a secret so it stays exactly as it is. The location is unbeatable—the rooms are practically on the beach, and dining while looking out at the sea is pure luxury.
The heart of this place is the owner, who is incredibly kind, always smiling, and makes a point of remembering every guest by name. His positivity and genuine hospitality make you feel at home instantly.
The dining experience is unique; you eat whatever has been freshly prepared that day. While there isn't an à la carte menu like in a typical restaurant—which might be a small adjustment for some—the food is delicious and authentic. Yes, the service is leisurely and you might wait a bit for your meal, but in such a beautiful and relaxed atmosphere, no one seems to mind. It’s all part of the charm. If you are looking for a place to truly unwind and feel welcomed, this is it.

The taverna is situated in an idyllic spot away from almost all other accommodation (not sure what is in the other building nearby in summer), on the sea, with a delightful restaurant right by the water. The goats are kept out so there are wild flowers all around in spring.
It is on the E4 and easy to access the Aradena Gorge - for those who don't mind scrambling.
The owner/manager, Pavlos, is delightful and extremely friendly.

Great location to explore nearby gorges and beaches near Loutro.
Pavlos was a very friendly helpful and attentive host, and even helped us with a flat tire.
The food in taverna was good.

L'emplacement idyllique, le calme du lieu, la gentillesse de Pablo et ses bons conseils, la nourriture avec des produits maison, les chèvres voisines, la route splendide pour y arriver ! Et aussi la proximité de Loutro où on peut s'y rendre par une très belle balade par le littoral. Et la baignade!

This place was absolutely adorable 😍 in the middle of nowhere where you can enjoy relax in the nature, Pavlo can give you his heart ❤️ and will help with everything.His mum cooks super delicious food.Room was perfect for our needs . Highly recommend this place! Goats are everywhere and that is awesome!

Emplacement merveilleux pour cette taverne familiale. un véritable paradis sur terre ! La terrasse ombragée en bord de mer est magnifique. les repas sont excellents et les hôtes très souriants et à l'écoute.
On peut y accéder en voiture jusqu'à un petit parking situé à 5 minutes à pieds.
je recommande vivement cet endroit pour toute personne qui aime le calme, la contemplation. Nous nous sommes rendus à Loutro, à pieds depuis la taverne, il faut compter environ 45 minutes.

Extrem gute Lage am E4 auf Kreta. Wunderschön gelegenes und familiär geführtes Hotel, bestes Essen im Garten und direkt am Meer. Das Zimmer war renoviert und modern ausgestattet.
