Great people, good food, ideal location for what we wanted.
Pros:

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We stayed for a week so got to know each staff member. Good people!

Cons:

The hotel is around 1km from Chowrasta, which was actually quite good as it allowed for some exercise time. It also gave access to other parts of Darjeeling that you might not walk if stay in Chowrasta (so actually not a complaint).

Amazing staff
Pros:

The staff is just fantastic !
They helped with bags with all requests, and made us feel welcome and at home.

Cons:

The room was as cold as outside. The heater we had on the first night was poor and did not warm enough. Also, we arrived at 2300 and the heater was off, so the room was freezing. It would be nice to switch on a few hours before the guests arrival( they organized our transfer)

We asked to see other room , also cold, and afterwards the portable heater in our room was changed.
After that the room was nice and warm.
The bathroom was still cold, but well, that's the joy of travelling. You get out of your comfort zone ✌️

Pros:

Rooms were big, clean and comfortable. There is a good view but we weren’t very lucky with the weather. Staff were polite and helpful.

Cons:

Room can get cold in winters, however we didn’t mind this much. It can get a bit noisy with road traffic noise at even 4am and been woken up to sound of pigeons.

An ode to Villa Everest
Pros:

The staff were extremely warm. The quality of their hospitality speaks much in volume. Located exactly where the serenity and calmness of the city starts, yet a soothing stroll away from the city centre. The convenient patio which overlooks the city extends its horizon to the Kanchenjunga was delightful. The bay window in the room adds extra cozyness.

Cons:

Nothing.. However, a suggestion would be upgrading the heating system of the rooms (usage of radiators instead of conventional heating grill and centralized hot water system). Provided the above mentioned facilities this hotel is truly a gem to Darjeeling!!

Insgesamt tolle Lage. Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wir hatten zwar eine Heizdecke, aber es war wirklich kalt.

Pros:

Heated mattress and electric heater! Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean!

Cons:

We loved Villa Everest. Our room was a bit noisy- barking dog every night- but that was not in their control. The restaurant meals were just okay, but lots of dining options in the neighbourhood.

Very pleasant comfortable experience
Pros:

Here we stayed for 4 nights and it was a very pleasant experience for us. We are very happy with the hotel arrangement. It is equipped with all the facilities like hot water, bed heater and room warmer which made our stay very comfortable. The behaviour of staffs are very professional and helpful. I'll recommend your stay here.

Nice location, clean fascilities, friendly staff.
Pros:

The staff were friendly and the location was good. It was walking distance to the mall road and restaurants. From our room we could see the mountains on a clear day, which was great. There is a beautiful garden space with mountain view. We also liked the restaurant to sit in, and were provided with a space heater.
The room was cold, but the hotel provided an electric blanket, which was warm and cozy. We also appreciated that the hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas.

Cons:

We visited during Christmas time and the room was very cold. Although the Hotel provided a heater, it was not sufficient to warm up the room. We also couldn’t get food WiFi in the room or in the restaurant of the hotel. That was frustrating.

Good stay with scope of improvement
Pros:

The location was good. And the decorations of the property were nice. The beds had a hitting system so it was quite comfortable. The continental breakfast option was fine. The hospitality of the staff members was delightful. There are good interior locations to take pictures of the property.

Cons:

The room was a little cold even though there was a room hitter. The washroom was super cold. It could be better if there was a floor hitting system. After asking for toiletries it was refilled whereas it should have been taken care of before hand.. A brush with toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo, fabric sleepers are very basic amenities that should be provided where the room cost was more than 6000INR.. Because at the end of the day we are not just paying for the walls we are paying for the services too.. So it should be kept at the highest priority.. The Indian breakfast served was very nominal.. It could be improved..

Great location, history and views of the mountains
Pros:

Beautiful heritage home, with amazing views.
Convenient that had a restaurant on site, as we travelled with 2 children (age 3 & 6).
The staff were great at organising our day trip and we hadn't planned anything.
Heated bed was cosy.
The restaurant in the hotel next door served great food, and it was to get out for dinner but not have to walk far with the children.
The terrace was a great space for the kids to stretch their legs and play a little.

Cons:

Cold floors, some rugs would be nice in winter and a matt for the bathroom - we can understand why there is no central heating. Rugs would help prevent the wooden floors being noisy for the rooms below.
More attention could be given when servicing the rooms, such as removing the dirty plates from room service (we ended up taking these down ourselves), topping up tea bags and toilet roll.
