- A few things in the room were broken.
- We were really looking forward to the table tennis table, but the paddles were so damaged that it wasn’t possible to play.
- A constant, droning noise that could be heard throughout the entire night.
The hotel is in a peaceful neighbourhood, still walkable or a short rickshaw ride to the ashram and mountain. My room was spacious and lovely decor - felt really peaceful. My balcony was totally private and lovely to sit outside. I spent almost 2 weeks here on a kind of self retreat and it was perfect for this. The hotel had everything I needed, the staff were all lovely - genuine and considerate. I found it spotlessly clean to a very high standard. The breakfast was great, a small, mostly indian selection as well as fruit with options changing daily. I also had room service lunch a few times and highly recommend their specialty paneer briyani. The food was also very clean and beautifully prepared. The pool is tranquil, clean and overlooking the mountain. The rooftop has the most wonderful mountain view - a perfect place to start and end the day. For my stay I was looking for a peaceful haven and that's exactly what Ashreya offered.
First of all, I stayed quite a long time here and nothing bothered me. I think it's good to accept that 'India-nice' is different to nice in other parts of the world. Yes there were holes in the towels but not a big deal for me in the scheme of things here. Ashreya is a bit higher priced so to stay competitive, I'd suggest investing in a couple of changes. Soft lighting lamps next to the bed would be a big improvement at a low cost. My room had bright lighting that was all-on or all-off, not conducive to reading or relaxing before sleep. My bathroom door opened into the vanity so I had to squeeze past to get to the loo. I suggest investing in changing this to a sliding door. This would also make the bathroom feel more spacious and luxurious, in line with the price the rest of the accommodation. Lastly, it's good to know the food here is local-spicy. Although I enjoy spicy food, I needed to ask for low spice. Just a note there is a bit of construction springing up in the area so best to check the status if you're looking for peace like me. There was no noise during my stay.
I did not stay because the property was overbooked. They called me a few hours prior to check in and informed me that they did not have any rooms for us. I raised multiple complaints with booking.com about this but there is no response so far.

I did not like the fact that booking.com has not done anything about my complaint. I did not like the fact that I had to make last minute alternate arrangements for my family at place that was not to the standard that we would have preferred.

Swimming pool was well maintained . It was clean and neat. Breakfast was good. Very friendly staff with prompt service.

Good locality and amiableness and fraternity staff. Although hygienic restaurant and good talkative people. Truly a pleasurable experience in all ways. Whenever we would've been visit to T.V. Malai , absolutely, definitely will book this scenario.
