This was a wonderfully comfortable and perfectly situated hotel from which to explore Kandy. We loved the design of the apartments and the location. The breakfasts were wonderful.

Cons:

I’m sure it was a mistake in calculating the exchange rate, but the initial bill for the hotel was 80% overpriced. A quick calculation showed the correct price and the staff were happy to adjust. Make sure you check the conversions. Also, a quibble. The rooms indicated a bar list of beers and wines, but when we asked after a long day out walking, we were told there was no beer or wine available ‘as the hotel is within a kilometre of a temple’. This is despite the fact there are more than a dozen bars closer to the temple. Didn’t get any clarity on this.

Otherwise the place was wonderful and would recommend staying here, primarily for the location and the comfort of the apartments.

An oasis in the bustle of Kandy
Pros:

The perfect spot in Kandy. Tucked up the hill overlooking the lake this is an oasis of calm and serenity away from the bustle of Kandy.

The rooms are beautiful, exceptionally comfy beds and the balcony views across the gardens and lake are stunning. The breakfast terrace is a delight.

The staff are all super friendly and helpful and the food is very tasty and fresh. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at this lodge in Kandy. Absolutely stunning view from our balcony with clean and spacious rooms. Bonus points to staff for carrying our luggage from the road as it is a steep climb and allowing us to have breakfast served in our room!

- wir haben bereits vor Anreise geschrieben, dass wir beide vegetarisch sind und eine Person zusätzlich glutenfreies Essen benötigt. Vor Ort wusste man von nichts und die Kommunikation mit dem Kellner am Morgen war etwas schwierig - konnte dann aber geklärt werden und es wurde kurzfristig noch Reis gereicht

Lovely staff and property by the lake. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Wifi worked great.

Cons:

The bathroom is downstairs a level from the bedroom area. I didn’t really like that when nature called in the middle of the night.

Great location, very quite but very central with good view of lake. Room was contemporary and a great size.

Cons:

Some bedside lights would have been nice, strange and pointless cupboard above the luggage rack was a hazard as I managed to bang my head on it quite hard - my fault!

Pros:

Superfreundliches Personal, schön ausgestattete, neuwertige Zimmer, toller Blick vom Balkon. Die Lage ist ebenfalls super - man ist sofort zu Fuss in der Stadt. Trotzdem ist es ruhig. Das Frühstück ist ein Traum - kann die SWP Ecolodge nur wärmstens empfehlen! Sehr gerne wieder!

Unsere Zimmer ging über zwei Ebenen und hatte zusätzlich einen schönen Balkon.

Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die überdachte Dachterrasse mit traumhaftem Blick über den See von Kandy und direkt auf den gegenüberliegenden Zahntempel – einfach fantastisch, vor allem abends. Hier haben wir Frühstück und Dinner eingenommen.

Das WLAN war sehr gut und zuverlässig. Das Frühstück war mehr als reichhaltig und wurde individuell nach unseren Wünschen zubereitet. Auch das Dinner im Hotel können wir absolut empfehlen – alles war sehr lecker und bestens organisiert.

Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und die angenehme Atmosphäre sehr genossen. Klare Empfehlung!

Super godt beliggende værelse tæt på byen men alligevel i et roligt område. Lidt stejl opstigning til hotellet, men hjælp til bagage fra de meget serviceorienterede ansatte. Dejlig balkon.

We had a decent stay overall. The location was convenient and the staff was polite and helpful during our visit. The room was comfortable enough for a short stay. Everything was generally fine and the hotel offered good value for the price.

Cleanliness could have been better in some areas and there was a noticeable damp/moldy smell in the room.
