Pros:

Nicely located. Good rooms with proper beds and hot shower. Breakfast was good as well as the food (Sri Lankan!).

Cons:

There were few other guests so it felt.a bit abandoned.

Wir kommen wieder!
Pros:

Das Kara O’Mula Mulanje Hotel war eines der schönsten Hotels unserer Reise. Schon die Anfahrt durch das beeindruckende Mulanje-Massiv ist ein Erlebnis. Die Straße führt steil hinauf in die Berge, und oben angekommen wird man mit einer spektakulären Aussicht belohnt.

Besonders beeindruckend war der Blick am Morgen direkt vom Bett aus über die Ebene, die oft in einem sanften Dunst liegt. Auch die Sonnenuntergänge sind einfach wunderschön und unvergesslich.

Das Hotel liegt idyllisch an einem kleinen Wasserfall, verfügt über einen schönen Pool und ist perfekt in die Natur eingebettet. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Besonders die Currys – sowohl mit Huhn als auch vegetarisch – waren hervorragend und gehörten zu den besten Mahlzeiten unserer Reise.

Hervorheben möchten wir vor allem den außergewöhnlichen Service. Das Team war jederzeit aufmerksam, herzlich und unglaublich hilfsbereit. Als mir die Matratze etwas zu hart war, wurde innerhalb von 10 bis 15 Minuten eine weichere Matratze organisiert. Solch eine schnelle und unkomplizierte Hilfe erlebt man selten.

Vielen Dank für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an wie zu Hause gefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

1-Ideal location and beautiful scenery.

Cons:

1-Hostile and Unprofessional Staff Behaviour made feel unwelcome, disrespected, and unsafe. This suggests a cultural problem which is not an isolated incident but an accepted poor standard.

These critical service failures highlight the absolute necessity of on-going employee development. Investing in robust, scenario-based programs is essential, and can explore the foundations of effective hospitality customer service training to build a team that consistently represents Hospitality values.

2-Limited flexibility in terms of mode of payments (e.g. TNM Mpamba only available, no Airtel mobile-money Option). The poor check-in and checkout experience at the front desk ought to be addressed to make it easy, flexible and localised.

Pros:

AUsgezeichnet geführtes Hotel in einer abgelegenen Gegend. Frühstück und Abendessen sensationell. WiFi nur in Gemeinschaftsbereich sehr gut. Sicherheit sehr gut mit Watch men in der Nacht.

Très bel endroit idéalement situé
Pros:

La localisation idéalement située pour le départ de la rando
La vue magnifique
Les chambres sont belles

Cons:

La Clim ne fonctionnait pas dans une des chambres
Serviettes de douche pas forcément propres…

Comfortable and beautiful stay at the foot of the Mulanje Mountain
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay at Kara O’Mula. We only stayed for one night, but wish it could have been longer. The location is great (just ensure you follow the sign on the road and not google maps, which took us on a very bad dirt road). The staff were so friendly, and even allowed us to eat breakfast late when we came back from our hike.
The rooms are comfortable and the air conditioning was a life saver.

The food was great too! Would highly recommend.

Pros:

Lovely to sit and enjoy the view with a coffee. Lots of channels on the room tv. A nice bar and pool table. Right next to the hiking trail.
Lovely staff… especially Angela, Rebecca and Maureen!
I’m so sorry I left one of your small towels in my bag!!!

Séjour agréable mais différences très importantes de qualité entre les chambres
Pros:

La chambre était tout à fait agréable, grande avec des équipements corrects. La salle de bains était grande et propre. Le restaurant était de qualité. Le personnel était très attentif et charmant.

Cons:

Nous avons initialement eu une chambre qui ne correspondait pas à notre réservation. Elle était petite, assez triste et la salle de bains était sale, avec des serviettes trouées et seulement de l'eau froide. Il est très étrange d'avoir une telle différence de qualité dans le même hôtel. Par ailleurs, nous avons donné du linge à laver, ce qui a été fait très rapidement. Mais c'était cher et le linge sentait le feu de bois, donc pas très agréable.

Wonderful mountain-side retreat.
Pros:

The location is amazing. Beautiful views and the mountain right there for hiking. The food at the hotel was wonderful. Room was clean and well-equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful. I did two hiking tours and a trip to Satemwa tea plantation; all were great and worthwhile.

Cons:

Just a bit more information/help from reception staff/guides with the tours. I was late for the plantation tour because the taxi wasn't booked early enough.
