Great hotel in the heart of Matera - fabulous location and really enjoyable stay!
Pros:

Cool transfer from/to car park on the edge of town in hotel VW Buzz! Warm welcome with complimentary homemade lemonade. Upgrade to 2-bedroom suite with balcony and amazing view. Lovely Ortigia toiletries.

Cons:

Quite an uphill walk to breakfast - fine for us, but maybe not suitable for all. Breakfast choice was fine, but we felt could have been better for this standard of hotel - eg juices were not fresh, cooked options were extra.

Pros:

Location was spectacular

Cons:

Staff didn’t really seem to be that attentive, however I will say they were very good about reaching out before my stay to coordinate my arrival and parking ..and that was very important and a great touch.

All in all a great choice but have realistic expectations about access.
Pros:

Location was excellent. We had a small balcony with an amazing view of the city and valley. Room was spacious if a bit austere. Very good breakfast in a beautiful cave room.

Cons:

Access is a challenge although that is to be expected if you want to be in the old town. The hotel is spread out and our room was a fair distance from the lobby and breakfast.

Pros:

This property was absolutely incredible. We could not believe our eyes when walking in, it was true luxury in an original cave in the beautiful town of Matera. Everything from the huge shower to the bed was amazing. We would stay here over and over again.

What an amazing stay in the heart of Matera! Sleeping in a real cave in the Sassi was a once-in-a-lifetime experience: full of history yet cozy and comfortable at the same time. The atmosphere was magical.

Breakfast was excellent, fresh and abundant, the perfect start to the day.

The staff were wonderful – warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. They truly made us feel at home.

We also tried the pizzeria Più Sud, and it was fantastic – the Calabria pizza is an absolute must-try!

If you’re visiting Matera, I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Unique, authentic, and unforgettable!

Pros:

Nous avons séjourné dans l'une des chambres d'hôtes les plus réputées des Sassi de Matera, et ce fut un véritable privilège.
Un hôtel diffus est sans aucun doute l'essence même d'un séjour dans les Sassi de Matera.
La prochaine fois, nous reviendrons pour essayer l'une des chambres de la Piazza San Pietro.

Personnel très compétent et excellent petit-déjeuner au restaurant.
